I'm reluctant to call myself a supporter of Allira now, because even that gets misconstrued.
It's not really to do with that though.
Bottom line is, we are annoyed about the injustice, I think, and worried it could be any of us.
I've stood up for other posters before, I won't give up on Allira.

Not wishing to sound crass or hysterical, but it seems to me like Allira is suffering a kind of bereavement from GN. She has been sad, angry, sometimes more upbeat, at others totally confused all in equal measure. And people talk about being kind to everyone!?
I hope she will be OK.

For some, sites like this are literally a lifeline, a comfort, a support, others, who might just pop in and out and use many different social media sites, may not be so invested and may not understand.

Exactly Cossy, and Allira has always been a private person about her own problems, preferring to be compassionate and caring towards others.

Btw, does anyone know of a way to find out when one first registered here?

I know I’m not a long timer but neither a newbie either! Just wondered when I joined.

Tell us all if you find out? I can’t remember if I joined when I left work or if it was in lockdown.

Galaxy Mon 08-Jun-26 17:41:44

Oh i don't know the answer to that, I would be interested in that too.

I don't see how support for Allira can be misconstrued. It is clear that many people support her, and of those who don't do so overtly I can't see anyone saying they support the ban.

I can understand how being banned would be difficult, particularly as banned posters can read the threads and see life going on without them - like a ghost, I suppose. Maybe if HQ revisit the process and see an error they could let her off on a technicality? Annie? There are others I'd like to see back too, as would all of us, I suppose, but I doubt we'd all agree on which ones 😀

Enter the poster name in the search and everything they have ever posted comes up.If they’ve been here a long time there will be loads, but the dates are on there.

Oreo - i knew one of us would have the Miss Marple skills, just not which one it would be 🌞

Oreo Mon 08-Jun-26 18:30:50

Sorry, I don’t think it goes back more than just a few years when I tried this.

Not me as it turns out 😂
As it doesn’t go back far enough.

It takes courage to join a site like this. What’s happened to Allira )and others) has had me reviewing the reality that we rely on trust. We are mixing with people who aren’t always what they present as.
We share some details of our lives, I’ve given personal info about my eye health in discussion with posters I trust but that info is there for anyone. News n politics has those of us who take part often exposing where our hearts are .

I hope you’re ok Allira. It’s one thing to recognise the support and friendship but also puts you centre stage

Aldom Mon 08-Jun-26 18:37:54

I've just put in my own username and only the current year and 2025 posts are shown. I've been in GN for about six years+.

MartavTaurus Mon 08-Jun-26 18:39:15

I don't see how support for Allira can be misconstrued.
Doodledog, maybe you didn't see it, but aggressively calling me an Allira "fan" makes it sound like some kind of follower or nutter jumping on a band wagon! Added to that, being called "disingenuous", when I am 100% sincere on this matter, was really having a dig and misconstruing my meaning.
The post with this description has been reported and deleted on the other thread, I have no idea by whom, but GNHQ obviously agreed it was a personal attack. I swear to God I did NOT report it.

Oreo Mon 08-Jun-26 18:46:41

MartavTaurus 💐
Glad that it was deleted.
And if Allira was banned for nothing much which seems to be the case, then any of us here can be too. It’s something to think about.

MaizieD Mon 08-Jun-26 18:53:51

I've found when I joined by asking ChatGtp for the earliest post by my username on any of the Gransnet forums.

It was ...ta da! August 2015

Oreo Mon 08-Jun-26 18:58:21

That’s good to know thanks.

Galaxy Mon 08-Jun-26 19:16:10

Thanks maizie. Chat gpt says April 2021, but also admits it was struggling with the questiongrin

Aveline Mon 08-Jun-26 19:43:15

It's 2015 for me. 11 years on Gransnet.

Doodledog Mon 08-Jun-26 19:44:50

I tried too, and it said 2023, which is definitely wrong. I remember posting during lockdown, but I also have a feeling I joined when I left work in 2017, but there are no points of reference for that, in the way there are for lockdown. Apparently (according to ChatGPT) there is no publicly available record of users' posts.

Hi all,
....................The decision to ban was made in light of the overall moderation history and a repeated pattern of behaviour over time. It was not based on one incident, one thread, or one report. That pattern included thread-policing, inflammatory posts, personal digs, bringing old grievances back into threads and encouraging criticism of posters who report posts..............

I've just put in my own username and only the current year and 2025 posts are shown. I've been in GN for about six years+.

Annie stated in her reply their 'decision was made in light of overall moderation history / bringing old grievances back into threads' and as Aldom can only go back to her threads of 2025, the same for me and expect everyone else (?) my questions to the mods are:-

Why can't we view ALL our posts?
Do YOU have access to all previous posts?
If so, how far back do you go when making decisions to ban people?
Likewise, if you do delve into history which is no longer in our sight then how can GN be as quoted in the guidelines - ' a lightly moderated sight'?

Still thinking of you Allira and hope you feel better soon.

Galaxy Mon 08-Jun-26 20:02:27

I lost a full day's work arguing on the trans threads during lockdown - you were absolutely there doodledog.

Delila Mon 08-Jun-26 20:02:44

I just did a google search for my earliest post and the answer was late 2020, but accuracy not guaranteed without a more in-depth search. I think that’s about right.

Time flies….

Aveline Mon 08-Jun-26 20:31:25

Chat GPT found it out for me. All I did was ask and gave the name I originally used them the one I used today.

Smileless2012 Mon 08-Jun-26 20:44:07

You can go back years if you know specifically which threads you posted on.

It was easy for me because I came to GN due to estrangement and knew my first post was on the 'cut out of their lives' thread on the AIBU forum.
