Forgot to say Good Afternoon Allira, hope you've got the beautiful sunshine I'm enjoying today 😄

BlueBelle Tue 16-Jun-26 14:31:55

Yes it was made clear to me Rosie I m just surprised that one foot wrong and next one off with her head
But
I m going to be very careful in what I write in future
Anyway back to Allira I hope your day is going well and the sun is shining on you

LauraNorderr Tue 16-Jun-26 14:44:27

Just had a little walk around the village with Orlin. Chatting about life and how funny it can be.
Hi Allira 👋

Bellanonna Tue 16-Jun-26 16:10:44

Be careful BlueBelle, we all enjoy reading your posts. Or many of us, some of us, whichever is acceptable.
Good afternoon/early evening to Allira. Hope you’re enjoying your day 🌞

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Jun-26 16:21:29

BlueBelle it’s like walking on eggshells when you have a warning hanging over you like the sword of Damocles

If it’s any reassurance you are not the only GN member in your situation.

BlueBelle Tue 16-Jun-26 16:28:57

I know Grannygravy I spoke out of turn and apologised but the sword is still hanging🤗

LauraNorderr Tue 16-Jun-26 16:41:08

It’s weird BlueBelle because I would say I have been much more forthright than you and even had a few posts deleted but I have not received any warning.
Hard to fathom.

Aveline Tue 16-Jun-26 16:45:42

Yes. Very odd and uncomfortably inconsistent. We'll have to keep an eye out for disappearing posters sad

rafichagran Tue 16-Jun-26 16:50:12

I just looked it up, there are 300000 registered users on gransnet. I understand alot of you are upset about your friend Allira, but the mods have made it quite clear that they are not going to reverse things any time yet.
In the grand scheme of things you are a minority. I am not buying in to this scared to post. I am not. I will post what I think is right. If the mods delete it or suspend me so be it.
Posters should be able to report anonymously, they are not sneaks, tell tales or other playground sayings I have read on here. If it was not anonymous it could cause the wrath of anyone in a clique and posters could be afraid to report.

Aveline Tue 16-Jun-26 17:00:26

There are far fewer regular posters than that. Just a quick scan of the names on here in support of Allira would indicate how popular she is with us regulars.
However, be bold, post what you like. That seems to work for some but not others.
I'm sure we are an irritation to moderators but we still support Allira.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Jun-26 17:03:46

That’s why it’s important to swop email addresses with any GN member you are close to.

There is no warning when you are banned, it’s instantaneous.

BlueBelle Tue 16-Jun-26 17:07:58

I be very surprised if there are more than a few hundred posting on Gransnet
It doesn’t matter if 300, 000 have signed in I d say 290,000 have no input at all
I would imagine those posting are a very small percentage

No one said you should not support Allira, but as I said 300000 registered posters, that includes regular posters, people that post now and then, and people who read the posts l and all enjoy them. These people are all equally important.
You may be a irritation to the mods, but that is all. I see loads of regular posters on other threads that are not on here.

Rosie51 Tue 16-Jun-26 17:21:39

rafichagran You sound pleased that Allira has been banned or am I misunderstanding you? Thanks for dismissing us as an irritation 😆
I think there is likely a big difference between registered members and the numbers that actually read and/or post. When somebody just stops accessing the site through death or disinterest is their name removed from the numbers? I'm pretty certain I'm still registered as a member of the MSE forums, haven't been on there in years and couldn't remember my password even for £1 million.

LauraNorderr Tue 16-Jun-26 17:22:29

This is about fairness, justice, consistency of judgements and unambiguous rules.
It happens that Allira is the latest casualty albeit a well liked and respected contributor, hence the support for her.

Spinnaker Tue 16-Jun-26 17:38:48

The only consistent thing is the inconsistency confused

I have no problem with Allira and have said as much in previous posts. If you have read the two threads I am sure you would have seen that.
It was Aveline who said "I am sure we are a irritation to the mods I was agreeing with her but that is all it is irritation.

Oreo Tue 16-Jun-26 17:46:17

There are two distinct things in my view, the many who miss and support Allira and counted her amongst their GN friends, which I am one of and the practice of reporting posts.I agree with the mods that it’s a self regulating site and we are all free to report posts which we believe go against guidelines, then they and not us decide whether it truly does or not.I have been on sites in the past where it was the Wild West and on others where mods wrote their own posts on threads and woe betide anyone who disagreed. This forum strikes a balance and it doesn’t mean that because someone reports a comment it will automatically be deleted. So far so good.
In the case of Allira, I have rarely seen a deletion at all, let alone any cases of other misdemeanours in the over three years I have been on here, it’s truly baffling.

Am amazed by the number of those signed up to this site as there may be only 300 who ever comment.I expect many signed up then didn’t bother again but never closed their accounts.

Even if that is true people on this thread are still a minority. I would say there is far more than 300 posting as was suggested upthread. I see new names cropping up everyday.
As I stayed I have no problem with A llira but I disagree with what some posters have said over two threads

Oreo Tue 16-Jun-26 18:08:50

It doesn’t matter if we are a minority or not, and nobody forces you or anyone else to keep on commenting, it’s purely a matter of choice Rafichgran .The moderation team seem happy for us to say hello to Allira so far.
There are lots of posters who I would miss and not understand why they are banned and Allira comes top of the list for never being contentious or anything else.

Aveline Tue 16-Jun-26 18:15:31

In a world where we see unfairness writ large eg in Ukraine and in America it is painful to meet unfairness in our own little world of Gransnet. What can we do but continue to protest? What can we do but continue to support Allira if only in this form?

rafichagran Tue 16-Jun-26 18:18:08

Yes, I agree with the mods Oreo you can say hello. I just do not agree with some of the things that have been posted or have been done. Like going on other threads or someone suggesting taking away annkmous reporting.

Casdon Tue 16-Jun-26 18:30:55

That’s life though, of course, not everybody agrees with what other people think about any given subject rafichagran. We all only give our own opinions.

MartavTaurus Tue 16-Jun-26 18:36:40

Is there room for one final post?
I'll swap my place to let Allira return. Honest, I will. She means more to GN than tens of other members put together.
