Happy birthday bags. I have never tasted vodka in my life but pomegranate vodka sounds rather intriguing.

I bought 2 items on line and both arrived on Black Friday. I bought a Kindle Fire HD which cost me £129 + extras saving me at least £100. The minor problem is that I cannot find qwhere to put the charger on the gadget. Naturally there are no instructions, except one small page of diagrams. All beyond me.

The other item is for Tara- it is a cat bed which fits on a radiator. I am not sure if she will even deign to look at it having the choice of 2 armchairs, a double and a single bed. She is not allowed on the sofa and certainly not on my glass dining room table which holds a fascination for her.

I hope that Galen is enjoying life on the ocean wave.

Soutra I had no idea what Black Friday was until just yesterday. When I saw the scenes of mayhem and greedy frenzy I wanted to weep. What the heck drives some folk to behave like yobs. Dear me!
If you can spare a bottle glass of pomegranate vodka, I'm more than happy to test it for you.

Wherever Galen is...please try to enjoy yourself. Is there a plank on board the boat? If so, it may be where you'll be heading.

Just noticed the mention of pomegranate champagne. May I have two glasses please. Taste and colourwise it would be a perfect toast as DH and I congratulate each other on reaching our Ruby wedding anniversary today. Where has the time gone?

Charleygirl I trust that Tara at least takes notice and tests her new bed. If so, try to get a photo to share with us lot.

MacSporran has cut a polystyrene base that sits nicely in the wee chalet. I put fresh newspapers on top of the base each day. Tortoiseshell enjoys her supper, after which, she sits inside the chalet. She leaves as soon as the lights go out in the house. You may have seen the photo of the chalet. There is one some way back in my album. Mother cat has started to accompany Tortoiseshell. She was absent for some weeks. Both cats enjoyed two meals each last night. The cupboard is bulging with cat food. How come...? MacS says from time to time. We arrived without a cat...and now we have three!

Talking of vodka...many, many years ago, I was invited to a Polish thanksgiving gathering. Tiny thimbles of vodka were served and every so often the guests would toast whoever/whatever. After several vodkas (neat) a fiddler started to play and the guests danced as though there was no tomorrow. I recall whirling around the room...and then I had to be taken (carried) outside and my companion took me by taxi back to my Nana's home (which I shared.) Nana told me that I was "flushed"...a polite way of saying "pickled" . I had a hangover to beat all hangovers. I never did touch vodka thereafter.

Thank you soop. Instead of going away or out for a meal as we have done in the past, this year the somewhere special is, candlelit dinner a deux at home. I was given with a huge bunch of deep red roses from DH, two of which I will,press and frame to mark the occasion. Lovely lazy day and looking forward to,fresh lobster later.

Grannyknot I like the word "foo". I believe that there is a Scottish song, cannot recall the title, in which the word is used. I really MUST try to bring that title to mind. It's going to haunt me otherwise.

Talking of Scottish songs...one of my favourites is 'The Road to Dundee'. Now back to recalling the song with "foo" in it. Sigh!
