Modern words that annoy you!

Everything is referred to as “the narrative”. It’s the latest phrase.
“My bad” makes me want to scream.

Yes and the narrative. They're all doing it. Is beginning every sentence with So still a thing? I haven't noticed it much recently. Perhaps I am using it too😯

I love "My bad"! So succinct and quite apt where an outright apology isn't really called for.

I have not heard, "My bad" yet! I will listen out for it. I only heard the phrase, "It's the optics of it." recently and didn't understand it. I hate, "Can I get...." It is "Can I please have.... or " Please may I have....."

Lots of these things, if not all, are American isms, whether they become permanent or fleeting we shall have to see.

So many of these things give me the ick.

Starting everything with 'so' is definitely still on the rise. Listen to people being interviewed on TV. They usually start explaining themselves with 'So....'

'My bad' is awful, and also putting 'shade' on someone.

Young people using 'sick' is probably the worst.😬

‘Early doors’ makes me want to slap anyone who says or writes it.
‘Step foot’ instead of ‘set foot’ (just seen elsewhere) is another. I don’t feel like slapping them, but I privately judge them as ignorant or stupid or both.

I may be wrong here, but the pronunciation of sixth. I think it should be six-th, but lots of people say sick-th. It's spelt with an x, so why is it not sounded?!!!!!
