Moisturiser - recommendations please.

Weleda skin food, my skin is so dry, it is the best and cheapest moisturiser I have ever used.

I used Weleda Light it’s excellent.

M and S Formula creams and serums are the best I have ever used. We don't have an M&S near me so I either order online or stock up when out of town.

Moisturiser just seems to sit on top of my skin and do nothing. I put No 7 serum on first which does seem to sink in.

How odd, I started using the serum and stuck with it for quite a while, and had a fair few comments from people saying how well i looked, that i had a nice "cupids bow" and other compliments.
As per usual, my miserly side took over and I started to resent paying "so much" for the serum, then my lazy side decided it was all "too much bother" to moisturise at all

Then i looked at myself the other day and thought I probably should give it a try again...

First of all - be careful of soap . It's too drying.
Clean your skin with cotton wool and baby lotion .
Massage on an inexpensive moisturiser such as Nivea in little circles.
Allow to be absorbed.
Apply a high factor sun cream before you go out.

I buy all my skincare from TKMax. I pay between £6 and £10 and just pick what I like the look of. I react to things like Nivea but currently I’ve been told (by DD, my harshest critic) that my skin has never looked better.

Really light and easy to use but seems to make a big difference to my skin.

I think it’s far too expensive. I only get it because my partner gets a double discount twice a year. My skin, which used to be really good is awful now.

My mother had beautiful skin and among my strongest memories of her are the ones where she is carefully applying her Ponds, or Nivea.

There are popular and effective skincare ranges now (according to my beautician friend) that are inexpensive:

The Ordinary (which I’m currently using, very nice)
Inkey

Both available online and I think also in the larger Boots stores. I really don’t think that the more expensive skincare is, the better it is!

I have just started using Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 night moisturiser. Tiny pot but you only need a tiny bit. Noticed an improvement in my skin first night.

A recent Which Report put Lidl Cien Q10 Intense Day Cream in third place just behind Clarins and Rituals products. The Lidl cream is less than £5 whereas Clarins is around £70 and Rituals about £40. Worth a try!

Its worth exfoliating regularly for better absorption,
as there is no point spending money on either
unless our skin is receptive,
gently slough off those dead skin cells,
apply an occasional clay face pack.

I use Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion, it makes your skin feel smooth and I’m told I have beautiful skin.

Boots mostly seem to be promoting three for two on their No7 ranges and that does make them very cost effective when buying night cream, day cream and serum. And their skin care has age ranges too.

Yes i always bought them on offer, and I'm quite surprised to hear they're still around, as everything is so complicated now.
Exfoliate, don't exfoliate, peptides, microgranular whatsits, acid this, microneedling, shaving....

Haven't used a clay face pack for ages.

I use Clarins, usually when there’s an offer of a freebie collection if you buy something else.
I don’t like the feel of lipstick so buy their tinted lip balm to get the freebies.
Waitrose do a collection of beauty produces called Pure, which are also very good.
