Moisturiser - recommendations please.

Hope everyone who shops there has a Boots card - they give slightly more points to over 65s and you also get special offers.

So when I buy the No7 serum + creams I buy when the 3 for 2 deal is on.

As someone else mentioned there are sometimes extra discounts on No 7 - like a £5 or £10 off voucher in store (don't know about website).

I also often get a weekly deal on my card where I get a whole load of extra points (as in £5+) if I spend over £50.

So I always check my offers and the 3 for 2 deals before buying and make sure my total is just over the £50. By the time the discounts have all come off and I have the points the serum and cream works out about half price.

I have been using this Elizabeth Arden one for a while now. Suits my rather dry skin.

Around £16 for 75 ml.

I I’ve some ‘doesn't make a difference cream’ actually 8 hr cream. The smell is horrible but it’s brilliant for my dry hands.
Does yours have any smell to it?

I always chatted with the ladies in the care homes about their skin care routines, and the answers were honestly so different.

I'm sure some must be down to genes.

Best skin I ever saw was on a 90 year old lady, she swore by drinking & applying gold top milk to her skin. It’s was like a baby’s bottom.

I would recommend Vaseline ‘Essential Healing’ (yellow container ). My DH used for years - now 82 and no one believes his age. Same with his full head of hair courtesy of Alpecin shampoo- it really works (thickens growth).

Ponds Dry Skin Cream

Used to be at one time Ponds Vanishing Cream

I always got it at my local chemists or Boots then couldn’t get it, panic stations 😱 but Amazon came to the rescue. I found a large jar for about £15 and I was happy again.

I have carers visit me daily who always compliment me on my skin and lack of wrinkles, they need glasses as at almost 89 of course I’ve got wrinkles but when I compare with others I don’t look too bad, I’m sticking with Ponds 💖

A few people have mentioned Ponds, so it obviously has stood the test of time.

I use Aldi moisturizer, the caviar one is excellent but they seem to have stopped stocking it in our Aldi.

In the last I've used Estée Lauder Resilience and intensive night repair, Elizabeth Arden and various Boots No 7 range. I can see no difference in result from using my under £5 Ponds moisturising cream. Lovely to use. Nonsense greasy and leaves my skin looking as good as possible each morning.

I use Cetaphil moisturiser and my skin if I say so myself is line and blotch free.

Cetaphil is highly recommended, I think, by dermatologists.

I've got very sensitive skin and am allergic to lanolin. I also have Rosacea. I wash with Simple soap and a clean flannel, then apply Cerave cream whilst my face is damp. I've got pretty good skin for my age (67)

Also Lacura daytime moisturiser for mature skin and Nivea night cream . Both really reasonably priced and so think very good
