Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Up to my usual routine with a bus trip into Bicester do a shop and maybe have chat with people I have got to know.
On the health front OK, yet still have pain in my right thigh where I slipped slightly during a rain shower in Bath last Saturday, that's the rouble after a dry spell like we have had shoe rubber and on wet surface will make you slip .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a sunny NE but rain is forecast.
GD2 is 17 today and it is her first day in 6th form at her new school. New to her, the school is actually 500years old and is the school her father attended.
GD and her friends are going out for dinner this evening. Family celebrations are done on a weekend.
DD is coming today and will work online in my study while SIL and I do the shopping.
Have a good day.

Good morning from N. Bucks.
I have to two boys again this morning, they start school again tomorrow. The youngest (5) is very excited about going back., his brother not so much. They have asked to do some ‘proper’ watercolour so I’ve drawn an outline for the younger ,the other will manage his own.
Once they have been collected I’m off to help set up for our WI 90th party.
I will need DHs help to transport the cake and various other bits and pieces. We have a speaker who is said to be very good and amusing. She has requested that we wear dresses and hats if possible.
Hope those off on outing have a good time and thoughts with those unable to be out and about.
A good day wished for all.

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk which was bright and sunny only 15 minutes ago. I think, and hope,we’ll have some much needed rain later.

Keep fit classes restart today so I’ll be off in about an hour and will have coffee afterwards with 3 friends from the class.

Hope all have a good day.

Oh, Georgesgran, what an awful experience. The main thing is you're in one piece, cars can be replaced.

Good luck to all youngsters back to the classroom today.

Good morning from the east coast and it’s lovely so far.
DH is going to cut the grass this morning as its ages since he’s done it but with all the rain it’s now green, lush and long.

Yesterday went well at my uncles flat we had the help from my brother too. DH and I had 20+ bags of clothes to take to the clothing bank at the tip. We left everything in the lounge that we want a clearance company to take so not too much left to do now.

Today I’ll do a long walk round to the local shopping park to get my steps in. Tonight we have been invited to DSs house for a meal and a drink. DGS is in Turkey with his mother so it’s an opportunity to chill with DS and his partner while he’s not there. I said we don’t mind picking up an Indian on the way but she said she may cook. When we had our party on Saturday night everyone loved her and we feel very blessed she has come into DSs and GSs life.
Our school children in this area have 7 weeks off this year so don’t return to school until next week. A lot of people took the opportunity to go abroad including our little ones. The DGDs are in Greece. It’s been a quiet week so far.

Wishing a lovely day for all with moments of joy. 🌼
Thoughts to those struggling with pain, stress and illness 💐

Good morning all from a wet Black country light rain predicted for all day EkwaNimitee I agree enough rain for now virtually nonstop here for a week just a few dry hours here and there.
No plans I need some fresh flowers so will probably take a wander round to Aldi.
Have a lovely day Madeleine shame your friend couldn't join you.
Enjoy your day folks whatever your plans 😎.

Good morning from a wet Leicestershire.

We are meeting friends in town then DH has a diabetic check up.

Nothing much else is happening except I must put a duvet on the bed as the nights are getting colder.

That was a horrid experience Georgesgran I hope Amazon deal with it quickly.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everybody from Málaga where I’m enjoying my TiB. Just checked my bank account and my state pension has gone in today. I always love that feeling don’t you? Makes my account suddenly more healthy!

Just as well as our Yorkshire Lass arrives this evening, flying in from Leeds Bradford airport. She’s ringing her laptop for ‘a bit of work’ should be interesting…. Actually she may do some of that on Sunday while she’s waiting for her husband to arrive and I depart from Ibiza. She’s a speech & language therapist for the NHS and wishes the bureaucracy could be less with more time available to see referrals as their waiting lists are so shockingly long it depresses the team, scratching the surface is frustrating.

The Boy Wonder and L’il Miss return to Y10 and Y5 respectively this morning and I’ve just been sent a photo of them looking very smart and smiley together in their uniforms. Happy grandma, a nice start to my day, fiscally and emotionally!

Morning from a cloudy S Hants, light rain is expected.
Ouch Georgesgran what a shock, have a gentle day.
Have the best day Madeleine.
Yesterday was a morning of housework, after wishing our GD a Happy Birthday.
MrJ is out dropping my car for MOT 🤞
I have to make a dental appointment today, I’ve been putting it off, two teeth to be removed.
May you all have a pleasant Wednesday.

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Sorry you had a fall Mick and hope the pain soon goes.

I really enjoyed the music club yesterday, my voice was in better shape after practising more, so I’ll keep that up. I’ve also been asked to direct and help stage the next concerts for the opera company and agreed, but don’t want to take on too much as I’m concentrating on painting and drawing as well as wanting to travel a bit.

I’m waiting for the workmen to arrive to finish off my new front porch today. It’s not a pretty sight in its unfinished condition.
Thoughts to Georgesgran and a pic of the beach across the road where I take my regular walks🌺

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Sept-26 08:27:05

Georgesgran how scary for you, have an easy day today 🌺

Just spoken to the 11yr old, now after the gym I am taking him and The Imp to lunch when I takeover from DD so she can go into the gym after me. I am such a soft touch where the GC are involved 🥰

Gingster Wed 02-Sept-26 08:32:57

Good morning all.

Yesterday was a beautiful day. A coach trip to Windsor and a boat trip with a delicious lunch on board. Dd an DGD for company which was lovely. Weather perfect and a good crowd.
The only downside……. 3 hour journey there and 3 hours back. Exhausting. The traffic was horrendous and we had detours with road closures coming home.

They stayed the night and have just gone off for first day back at school. DGD going into her last year at primary. Looking so smart and couldn’t wait to go back.

DGD 3 passed her theory driving test yesterday and she has chosen the car she wants. She’s still at 6th form doing second year of A levels and ds1 has put a deposit down. ! 🙄.
So different to gs who has a job, paid for all his driving lessons and bought his own car. No help from anyone and I’m so proud of him. Things come too easy for some and it’s not good. Of course I keep my opinions to myself! 😉

Today I’ll meet my friend for coffee and she’ll order my carpets for the two bedrooms at her shop.

Dh will go for coffee with his pal and we’ll have a quiet afternoon 🙏.

Take care all and enjoy the day, as much as you can. 🌻

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 02-Sept-26 08:48:55

Georgesgran how distressing all round. At least you’re okay. But still…. a huge nuisance to sort.

RosesandLilac Wed 02-Sept-26 08:56:30

Crikey Georgesgrran I hope you’re not too shaken, I know I would be 💐
Have a wonderful day Madeleine, I wish I could join you!

GrandmaC47 Wed 02-Sept-26 08:59:48

Georgesgran, how distressing for you. Hope you get things sorted asap with your car.

Enjoy Muker Show, Madeleine.

Ashcombe Wed 02-Sept-26 09:10:28

Georgesgran: that does sound horrid. It’s such a shock and inconvenient too. Is there any possibility of claiming for a hire car in the meantime? I’m sure Amazon (or their insurers) could afford the cost!

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning everyone from a damp showery Northampton; was intending on washing the towels today but will leave them till tomorrow.

Yesterday was beautiful and just perfect for our walk and my neighbour really enjoyed it, so she got her sponsored walking off to a good start. Another friend on the walk was super excited as she had just become a great grandmother! Baby born 3 weeks early but a good weight at nearly 7lb!

No real plans for today, but will probably damp dust the bedrooms and take the Shark upstairs.

Easy dinner tonight as have just got a home-made sweet and sour chicken out of the freezer, only rice to cook. Also got a Bolognese out for tomorrow.

Not read any posts yet so will go back and catch up now.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from a grey-skied East Lothian. We arrived here on Monday evening after a wonderful but rather muddy weekend at the same Christian ‘arts, music and justice’ festival that Grandmattie’s DD and family were at. We are now looking forward to one of our extended stays at our one-bedroom flat, just 10 minutes walk from our daughter, son-in-law and twin grandsons. Younger twin is off to university in Aberdeen in two weeks time. His brother is waiting for a medical which, if he passes as fit, will be the gateway to starting merchant navy training in Glasgow in January. I have enjoyed our times with them so much. It is with very mixed feelings I watch them take wing.

Mick, I hope your strained thigh recovers quickly.
Georgesgran, what a nasty experience for you.
madeleine, I hope you have a great day at the Muker show.
Grammaretto, I did some catching up on GN and see you are (nearly) all set to move house. I’m sorry we missed your open studio this year.

Thinking of all those having a difficult time. Have the best possible day all on here.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 02-Sept-26 09:33:48

Morning all from a damp and drizzly West Oxfordshire.

We ordered a new tumble dryer yesterday. The current one is around ten years old and had pretty well conked out - the smell of burning was the decider! Anyway, the new one should be delivered on Thursday.

I will be doing bits of admin today and tonight I’ve booked for us to go a favourite restaurant for their Steak Night.

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with difficulties.

aggie Wed 02-Sept-26 09:44:14

Good Morning from a grey wet Co Armagh, forecast wall to wall rain
Nothing much happening here , I’ve resorted to more crochet on the latest throw . People ask who it’s for , but when I offer it I get a negative response !
Hope we all have a great day , and missing posters are on the mend xx

Usedtobeblonde Wed 02-Sept-26 10:09:43

Good morning from a damp Stockport.
I am expecting a Sainsbury’s delivery between 10 and 11.

Another disturbed night, I just anticipate them now, I was diagnosed with Sciatica and bursitis yesterday, just exercises and a week or two on Ibuprofen at the moment with a possibility of an injection into the hip if no improvement.
The really good news is that the recent heart tests I had show no concerns and the Cardiologist discharged me.

Today my youngest GS goes into Year 11, an important year for him and the second youngest has gone to 6th form college, very, very reluctantly, he is Autistic and any new situation has him traumatised.
We don’t know how, or if, he will cope.
His older brother came to take him this morning, not ideal but at least we know he will make it there.

Goodness Georgesgran how awful for you, I hope you are ok today and your insurance company are on the ball.

Sainsbury’s just pulled up now so I must go and deal with the order, so much better than trudging round the store, something I used to enjoy but I can’t do it now.
