Good morning from Bristol. It’s dry and overcast atm, but rain is forecast later; knowing my luck, it’ll pour as I get home from FAB cafe…
I had a very quiet day yesterday: today will be the same other than FAB cafe.
It’s DD’s 20th wedding anniversary today. Where has time gone? I shan’t be seeing them but left a little present and card with DGD last week.

Good morning, I think it’s dry here in south Glos at the moment.
I made 4lb of plum jam yesterday (definitely no heavy lifting involved!), it’s tangy and delicious even if I do say so myself 😋
I also tidied a kitchen cupboard, chucking out various packets of out of date stuff; there’s more yet to be done. The kitchen is looking much less cluttered too after I spent an hour having a good sort out l
Today my cleaner comes, so a quick tidy then I’ll retreat to my Shed with tiddler, DH will go to the village cafe with bigger dog and leave her to get on without interruption.
She does a fabulous job and is a lovely lady.
Jacket potatoes for dinner with savoury mince and cheese, quick and easy.

Good morning from Malta where it’s going to be sunny and 38°C.

Had a strange night with weird dreams and finally woke at 5.30 and made my tea.

I’m going out with an old friend this morning, she’s picking me up so I won’t have to walk in the heat.

DD3 asked me to have DGS2 as his brother has occupational therapy and speech therapy this morning. I offered to cancel my plans but she wouldn’t hear of it. I feel bad as I know it’s not easy having to take both of them, especially as DGS2 is the dominant one who will take over when it’s his brother who needs the one on one attention.

Sorry to hear you hurt your leg, Mick. It’s the same here when it rains after months of dry weather. I’m always wary of driving as the tyres slip. It’s like a skating rink!

Good morning Michael and all GN's on a so far very dark still morning in North Yorkshire. This is a very quick post as I have been up since 4am and am getting ready to go off to Muker show.

I am surprised you didnt hear the screams of frustration from here as for the last two days, I had nearly finished my missive and the ..... thing disappeared, and I wasnt able to get it back. Very annoying, especially as I had been bringing things u to date

So basically, fingers crossed my cellultis is a little better (no doubt will be worse after a long day today) and yesterday for the first time I felt a bit better in myself. The forecast is for rain later - of course after all the good weather it rains on show day. Sadly my friend is not well and will not be joining me, but I will be filling the car with the total range of macs, jumpers, boots sunglasses and walking boots, plus all the picnic stuff etc.

I did manage to secure a disabled parking space, or I couldnt have gone, so plan to be off no later than 6am. Am concocting picnic food, checking through cutlery and so forth, all to see me organised, when I get there. Hope that I can see a choir member or friend, who might be able to help me to set up camp at my usual spot, as I think trying to do it all myself might be a bit difficult. this year. Never mind, dont care if it rains, snows or bright sunshine. At last I am going to a show and it is my best beloved one, with wonderful memories and hopefully I shall have a day of lovely memories to hang on to in the winter.

I need to get on now, Need to get food sorted and bags at the ready to stack up in the car, so fingers crossed that this time the flipping thing doesnt disappear today! I do not understand it, it is only gransnet that does this. Have had no trouble with anything else. Well deep breath and hope

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is still fairly dark but looks dry. It will rain today though. I had a strange night. I’d been in bed about three hours fast asleep when I woke up and could hear noise. Looked out of the window - nothing. Started to go downstairs and heard voices. The tv was on! I distinctly remember turning it off with the remote and would certainly have noticed when I finally turned off the lights. Weird! Then about three, the sound of the doorbell ringing woke me up. Nobody there. Not a soul around. DH, if you’re haunting me, “It’s not funny, Kid!”😁.

Fridgegate rumbles on with the quest to find one that fits the space, but SiL popped over yesterday and thinks he might be able to make the space wider. I can get the same model as the one we’ve had for the past twelve years, but they are certainly not as well made. It is still working but reluctantly at the moment!

Writers group this afternoon. I got word yesterday that I will be needed back at school next week, so it’s back in the old routine!

A day at home today catching up after a busy couple of days.Reading and no doubt a snooze this afternoon.I need to make an appointment with the dreaded dentist as a piece came off a tooth yesterday.

Sorry you slipped Mick, the same happened to me earlier in the summer when we had a downpour.So easily done.

I am quite enjoying the transition to the winter slowdown, I believe that I am twinned with a hedgehog. Michaelmas daisy is going into flowering mode, almost a month early

A large wash dried well outside yesterday including several poplin cotton tops and one dress and I will get the ironing done straight after breakfast. Like most others, I had been taking drying weather for granted

Today, lots of knitting, some reading, a walk and a bit of sewing which will finish my dress. It does look promising, perfect for autumn with some coloured tights. I will see how it wears and could well make another in a few days. I do love that vintage inspired look, with a hint of waist, a bit of Mrs McCarthy style from the Father Brown stories

The next de-cluttered load is just starting to build, some indoor plants, plus an outdoor potted mint with small leaves and there will be several smallish barrel-style pots to go soon, I can add to that from indoors, just need to keep the awareness about de-cluttering as I live my daily life

Ou doorbell goes off in the middle of the night too. Although it’s young people coming home after a night out. Our door is bang next to the pavement and they find it irresistible to press that shiny doorbell. We have to be very aware of security due to our business so we fly out of bed thinking it’s the alarm going off. Great
I’m working today. Our eldest DS is calling round this evening for a cuppa. I’ve not seen him for a couple of weeks so that will be nice.

We’ve had that same issue with a TV greyduster, we couldn’t really get any resolution from the manufacturer and didn’t want the hassle of returning it so we try to remember to switch it off at the mains now Weird though isn’t it!
I’m up early as I’ve a fairly long volunteering session this morning, it’ll be good to see everyone and have a chat. After that a quick trip to the gym then home before going out dancing this evening

Good morning from a so far dry N Surrey. My bedroom faces north but when I draw the curtains I can see sunlight reflected on the houses opposite. Very pink reflections this morning. So pretty, but usually means rain later.
Yesterday there was a sudden chill in the afternoon and I had to search out a wool sweater. I could really do with a wool cardigan. Maybe that will be an early christmas present from me to me. A patterned waist length one.
A post office trip this morning as well as Waitrose. And some on going paperwork.
I need to find a gardener this autumn.

On Friday I have a dear relation coming to stay for a few days which will be lovely. The house seems very quiet now.

Yesterday we had spells of torrential rain which lingered until evening. Further progress with dgs2 who went in to school without his big brother. I didnt do too much back at home but just tidied up. When I picked them up, dgs2 handed me a drawing of a street. His teacher is always there for the handover and she likes a chat. She's really kind. Dgs1 was sad because the janny is retiring and he's very fond of the man. The school are learning a Beatles song to sing to him(words adapted).
After I took the boys home, I didnt do much. This rib pain is annoying me. So I will try to secure a doctor's appointment this morning. Then, an hour at the school library. Have a good day all.

Yesterday's preview evening for the Jigsaw Festival went well. As usual it was attended by 2 Mayors, one from Bury and the other from Rossendale.

The festival is run by 2 churches in the team which straddle the border so we've always included both Mayors.

I'm doing a full day's volunteering today. DH is taking a day's annual leave to look after the little chap.
I'm on the raffle this morning and stewarding the puzzle area this afternoon.

My friend from Canvey Island is driving up today to stay for a few days.
We've also got a video call at teatime for the birthday of one of the little chap's half siblings. It's all go!!

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. It won't last long, rain is due!
Yesterday seems to have gone in a blur, I was busy at this and that little job, made some bread, started a new book but didn't go out in the garden, it was a showery day that settled into steady rain in the late afternoon. I think we've had enough rain for now.

Today I'm off to the garden centre as I just need a few more tulips. The ones I put in my raised bed do not seem to come up again. Apparently it can be a problem of wet soil but I suspect wood mice but, if so, they aren't digging the bulbs out but getting them from below.
Later, I could tackle the ironing and/or do some bathroom cleaning.

Good morning everyone from a mild, grey mid Essex, I think (hope) we may have a shower later.

I had a walk yesterday morning, then visited my dementia friend in the afternoon. I’ll have my usual walk this morning, hopefully will meet up with some dog walking friends.

madeleine I hope you have a brilliant time at the Muker show and that you don’t need your raincoat and wellies!

My television also turns itself on again after I’ve switched it off occasionally, fortunately it does it very soon after switching off. A friend’s tv also does it - both of us have Sonys.

My DGDs are back at school today - senior school for the 11 year old. Her sister isn’t looking forward to going back, but their cousin is quite happy about it.

Good morning from Morecambe bay where Bay where it’s been wet overnight and more rain is forecast for the day.
I managed to cut our clients grass yesterday but I found it incredibly hard work. I’ve obviously lost a lot of strength and fitness since I last cut it seven years ago. I must do something to get some of the fitness back. Walking CDog is obviously not enough. I think a gym membership may be in order.
I’m also losing the plot mentally as I managed to order 2 lots of bulbs from T&M. I can’t vouch for the quality of the bulbs but the assistant in customer service was second to none, and immediately cancelled one of the orders. I then received an e mail apologising for them having to cancel one of my orders. Obviously a standard e mail.
Today we return SDog and see our granddaughter as it’s her birthday. She’s usually back at school on her birthday but this year she goes back on Thursday.
I really hope Madeleine has an enjoyable day and the rain doesn’t spoil things too much.
