Good morning from an overcast Bristol. The nights are becoming warmer again. Sigh!
Yesterday was ok; shopping on foot and tidying up in the morning.
I had a dermatology follow up appointment in the afternoon. The consultant was over an hour late, so in all, factoring in buses, etc.,It was three hours out for a 5 minute consultation. Then, I went for the loo, checked my phone for buses, only to realise that it was ringing. The consultant, while writing up my notes, had realised that she hadn’t checked an area, would I come in again. Another minute… at least she was thorough.
Today is an even quieter. I find this time of year very hard, and often go three days without speaking to anyone other than greeting people here and there.

Good morning from Malta where rain is forecast (unusual for July) and a high of 32° (36°C real feel).

The boys came over yesterday morning with DD3 to drop Milo dog off. He gets so excited and heads straight for his toys! He’s a funny little dog but full of character.

After they had left to go to the barber, I went to Eurospin, Lidl and Homemate (to buy a fan for the boys’ room). Nowhere to park outside my home so had to do four trips back and forth to offload my shopping when I noticed a scrape on the car. It must have happened at one of the three places I’d been to as it wasn’t there when I left home. I was cross but tend not to let things like that bother me too much. Life is too short but I hope whoever did will get their karma for not owning up!

The boys came later with their short back and sides looking very cute! DD3 assembled the fan I had bought then they took Milo with them and I went for my appointment at the doctor.

Watched a bit of tennis from Washington DC and packed away my cushions on the outdoor furniture as rain is forecast.

Today I have a hair appointment at 10 am. I’m in a bit of a quandary as my long-time hairdresser is reopening next Saturday after her cancer surgery, but I have been finding it so convenient going to the one closer to where I live. It isn’t even a minute’s walk whereas my original hairdresser is a ten minute drive. It’s a pain getting the car out in this heat but I feel disloyal if I don’t go back to her after all she’s been through.

Hope all will be well for you Mick and that it is just a routine call.

I’m sorry you are feeling rather lost grandMattie. It can be very challenging living alone especially when the family are off on their holidays. Sending you a hug.🤗

Well, first task of the day is to get on my crosstrainer for half an hour’s sweat! I put on some 60’s/70’s workout music and it soon passes!

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and pouring. GrandMattie I'm generally happy with my own company but too much of it isnt healthy for me. I noticed it when the family were away on holiday. My sympathy. Bellasnana it's a dilemma about the hairdresser. I don't know what I would do.
Yesterday was a lovely day with ds and the boys. The park in Stirling was good, although I think the one in Falkirk is slightly better. The boys enjoyed themselves. Dgs2 was very excited to see ds house and go into his tower. He said his uncle lived in a castle. (Not true) and dgs1 said he lived in a mansion (closer). Ds provided lunch then took dgs1 out for ice cream. Dgs2 didnt want to go so i was happy to stay in with him. My feet had done enough! I took the boys home after that and they were quite tired after the walking to the park and back and the running about. It was a lengthy journey because the motorway was closed and there were local roads closed too.
Last night I had an early night and woke three times but slept well between. Today dgs1 has football camp so I will drop him off and pick him up later. Dgs2 and I will play at home. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a warming N. Bucks.
Off to feed DD3s family cats first thing. We were going out today but having checked the place is not open on a Tuesday so will move the visit to next week on Thursday. I expect we will go out for lunch.
Otherwise nothing of note except I must clear my craft table as I have patchwork to finish for our sewing groups challenge. I really mustn’t leave it to the last minute.

How annoying Bella, I hope the scrape isn't too bad.

We have Dollie today, she wants to go to Braehead, where I am sure clothes shopping will be involved, followed by McDonalds.
DH has insisted on coming with us, despite being tired after insisting on accompanying me yesterday.

I wish he would stay at home, Yesterday, my consultant said, that the stress of looking after DH has impacted on my RA and is partly the reason for me being so unwell.
I don't have a choice, but to care for him.♥️!

Good morning from Sheffield

I’ve nothing on at all today. I’m not sure what to do. There’s only so much cleaning one can do. I’ll probably do some gardening and I have a jumper to crochet. I’ve just got the second sleeve to do.

My DSister in law is having her op today, so she will be on my mind.

I may go swimming this morning. I used to go every week , I love it but since I started with sciatica just over a year ago I’ve not been. The swimming would probably have been beneficial but the pain was so severe I couldn’t face it. I am so much better now that I would enjoy it.

Yesterday had some highs and lows. Apparently, this will be my new normal.

DH has brought me a hot water bottle for my hands and a cuppa. Dollie will be here soon, expecting her Scotch pancakes, I must get up.
I couldn't resist buying her a t-xhirt with a denim Scottie dog on it. I hope she likes it. ♥️

Good morning all from a fairly sticky North Leicestershire.

Up early as DH is picking up a hospital drive at 7.15.

Our final session of the current Carer Lwarning was exhausting. They were a lovely, lively and engaged group. We have a tradition of bringing edible goodies on the last day and they excelled. We had a variety of samosas, vegetable rolls, pork pie, crisps and a lots of cup cakes etc .

Today was supposed to be a fun day meeting gn friends for lunch but we have had to postpone. So a quiet day in prospect.

Good morning from s somerset, dry and sunny again

Yay, my car passed its mot and no problems with the service, definitely it is worth the walking to go to a local garage and again I was surprised at the very reasonable price. I went to the allotment straight afterwards, chatted with three people, watered and picked produce.

T shirt prototype one was too short, length is now perfect, I added a band to test. I have changed the pattern to hip length without a band and would prefer a long sleeve which I will be doing today and am hoping this is the final version. I don`t like either fabric, the feel of them, so am happy to use them as tests and then bin

I have two lengths of good quality cotton interlock on order, ready to make long sleeved T shirts to go under my pinafore dresses for autumn

There are two big shelves in the spare bedroom that I could empty today, I want an easily accessible space for the lengths of bubble wrap which are temporarily on the downstairs windows, ready for any future heatwaves. I`ll sort that space today

All in all, I feel back to normal, now that the massive clear-out of sewing stash is over.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s 17°C with white cloud but no rain forecast and we shall have a high of 26°C according to Alexa.

I’ve got an appointment for a full body massage with in Flixton so will leave here at 10am it takes me 40 minutes to walk up. I could get the bus from across the road but I know the walk is good for me too.

I go every six weeks so at £60 including tip it works out at a tenner a week well worth it.

I alternate and have a full body massage like today then when I leave I book my next appointment for reflexology (same price).

I’ve been doing this since Himself died and I really appreciate the sense of well being that it generates. So money well spent I feel.

When I get back home I’m meeting book club retired friends in the square for lunch we call our little group of four Snack & Chat 😊

Sorry to hear you feel lonely during the summer break grandMattie time must hang heavy. Bellasnana I’d stay with your new hairdresser during the high temps of August and go back to your old hairdresser once the weather cools why not? Your original hairdresser will probs be inundated with appointments now she is back in harness and when you do see her will understand your decision I feel because it makes sense.

Oh Marydoll life keeps throwing you curveballs and I feel so sorry for all you have to deal with. Enjoy today. x

Good Morning everyone from a warm, overcast central south coast. We are promised more heat wave weather today and tomorrow. I hate wishing time away but this summer has tested my resolve in that regard! Love the sunshine but hate the heat.

DGD1 is coming to see us later and we shall take her out for lunch and catch up with all her "doings". I suspect she and a fairly long term boyfriend have parted, but have not been told officially. Maybe we shall hear today!

I finally cut DH's hair yesterday after promising (and failing ) to do so for the last few days. Then, being in Action Woman mode, I did the ironing.

Sorry you are feeling lonely GM. We are all so different in our need for social contact. Increasingly I prefer solitude after a lifetime of the opposite.

Good morning from Cornwall where the weather has levelled out at around 23° at its highest which means I can breathe normally, oh joy. Yesterday I decided to have a gentle, quiet day sitting in our local library reading an Agatha Christie. The library walls are festooned with original art work by well-known abstract artists, lovely. Upstairs on the Council chambers' wall is the town's coat of arms carved by my dad.

The town is horrible to walk through now because of the number of visitors with their extending dog leads, a nightmare in our narrow streets, and I don't understand how people can be so selfish. Moan over.

This morning I'm taking my best pal to some tropical gardens for breakfast in their café to celebrate her forthcoming birthday. After that I'll hopefully catch up with my nephews and sons.

Good morning from another cloudy day near Morecambe. DH is up and will hopefully bring me TiB. The dogs are awake too. One is snuffling about on my bed near my legs and the other is lay in his own bed, on his back, with his legs in the air. I expect he’ll jump onto me any minute! We will take them both onto the marsh this morning rather than drive to the woods. DH has a dental appointment in Manchester so he needs to be away early. I will have both dogs to myself so little will get done this morning until the dog walker takes them after lunch. I’ll get some gardening done when they go. There’s a lot of cutting back needed. It was cutting back that was needed in my clients garden yesterday rather than weeding as I was expecting.
DS2 actually sounded cheerful when I spoke to him last night. He’s been terrified about having a mortgage rather than renting but perhaps he’s realising nothing much is changing. He had a letter from his mortgage company offering him language lessons which obviously pleased him. He dabbles in many languages and can pass the time of day in most but isn’t fluent in any. Being autistic it’s an area that he’s quite gifted in. I just wish he’d turn his attention to healthy eating so he could lose a few stone!

I understand what you mean about those dog leads Marzipan. I hate them and won’t use them for CDog. I tried one when he was a puppy and quickly realised they were an accident waiting to happen!

Good morning, a bit later this morning because I’ve been tidying up before my sister arrives for coffee- she’s very likely to be hear far too early…..
I had a lovely cup of tea with a new friend yesterday, I’d made two banana loaves then realised I already have some in the freezer so I offered her one.
She’s my DD’s age and lives just along the road.
I also made shepherds pie yesterday but didn’t fancy it once I’d finished so that’s DH’s dinner for the next few days sorted!
It’s dull and cloudy here in south Glos, DH says there’s drizzle in the air but none forecast. The washing is on and I’ll hang it out anyway.

Good morning from Stockport.
18 degrees now rising to 26, it is promised warm again for at least a week.

I enjoyed my visit to a neighbour yesterday, she is very quiet and rather serious, unlike me , but we had a few laughs yesterday and she seemed to enjoy my company.

After my meal when I went to clear the kitchen I realised I had no hot water, the boiler was off and I couldn’t restart it, everything was dead, I must ring at 8 to get an engineer out.
It is 14 months old and this is the third call out since new.
My last boiler was 16 years old and very little trouble.
I am out to lunch with a friend but if they can come today my S is on a day off so he will be here.

I hope you all enjoy some of today, keep cool and hydrated.

Good morning from sunny Berkshire.
My BIL’s funeral yesterday went off as I’m sure he would have wished and as always on these occasions, it’s good to see extended family, albeit on a sad occasion.

After the short ceremony, we repaired to the church at which he was a regular attendee and there was a large screen after the service with photos which included some of his brother, my late DH, which was moving and died ten years ago. Now all three brothers have gone, eighteen months between them.

Refreshments were served in the church itself, new to me, but worked out well.
After the hour’s car journey back to my DD’s flat, my DS DD and DGD and I caught a bus immediately outside her flat into town and had a meal after a walk by the river.

Flying daughter is working today (San Francisco) and we are driving home to the north.
