A cult ????blimey this is moving into unknown territory for me
A cult! I m going to have to ponder on that one

Good morning Allira hoping today is a good one for you 🙋♀️
Good morning Allira. It’s sunny and not raining here, I hope the same for you
Another here who thought the hijacking of other threads was inappropriate.
However I do completely support THIS thread.
Good morning Allira. 😊
Good Morning Allira, Hope the sun is shining and you'll be outside enjoying your garden later.

It does not seem to occur to you that your perspective is the not the only,, or, necessarily the right one Tuliptree. Should you wish to make a negative comment about Allira’s contribution to the forum or what you deem her inappropriate behaviour, please feel free to do so, instead of disputing other people’s perspectives when they differ from yours.
You posted a completely inaccurate comment. No matter how much you protest, that remains a fact. Protest all you want, you remain in the wrong. I have never said anything about Allira’s behaviour but I certainly remain completely in the right about the inappropriate behaviour of those spamming other threads as part of their attempts to get her reinstated and especially the HN thread. And I am far from alone in this . Not every GNer is part of what is increasingly becoming a cult .
When you start a thread you do not assume control of how other people use or interpret the meaning as the thread progresses Tuliptree. I have said nothing that disputes the point you were originally making, but like it or not, that thread did provide an opportunity for people to say whatever they liked about this thread, including about Allira. You are trying to control other people’s posts, and I’m not going to play, because it’s just a distraction from the purpose of this thread.
I have throughout this thread given my personal opinion. I’m not sure you’ve appreciated that support for Allira comes from posters right across the political spectrum of Gransnet, I’m sure some people laughed that you would think they agreed with my views on many issues, I’d suggest that you reexamine the tone of your contributions, and will say no more.
Allira- here's an idea: ask ChatGPT to analyse your postings on GN. That should give you evidence to show the moderators. I've done this for a few posters and it's been interesting to look at the posting style and typical content. I know others can tell a returning poster with a new name but I never could.

Well said Casdon - agree with all you've said in this and other posts. Been out of it for the last few days and have to say I'm shocked how this thread has gone/is going.
Morning Allira - stay strong and hope you're doing ok.

The surprising thing about this whole banning is that posters who maybe rarely agree on any given subject are dismayed and alarmed that a poster like Allira should be accused of anything that supports a ban.
Well said Casdon.
One way of controlling threads is to use highly emotive language to twist posters' actual meanings.
So, for example, saying Allira's supporters on this thread are speculating about evil reporters is far from the truth. To my knowledg, no one has used the word evil to describe anyone. Yet, that accusation is allowed to stand.
On the other hand, I see I was reported for pointing out a simple analogy with the yellow stuff that you spread on your toast, staying cool in your mouth, to describe the manner of possible reporters still posting! So apparently, that is more offensive to someone than the horrible word evil?
I'll add a photo in case this needs explanation. It's 32 degrees here, and I'm melting. 😂 🧈
I was so pleased to find packets of Breton beurre down here in the South. I'm cooking rice in butter to go with Sea Bream tonight.
Yum!

Absolutely - because without a clear idea of why Allira was banned, we know the same thing could happen to any of us!
Policing the threads i.e. saying what you are allowed to post is sometimes allowed to pass and at other times brings a quick deletion.
Anyone know why?
Because it won't have been reported. Its a 'self moderated' site.

No idea, and I can't say I've noticed that, but it doesn't make sense to have it happen.
Posters can ignore threads with instructions. I do (for instance I can't often watch videos during the day) but I really dislike threads that police by random chat and coded messages. I find that far more controlling. It's not pleasant to be on a thread where people are just talking around you, and it must be very off-putting to newcomers to GN. This is where accusations of cliques come from. It has nothing to do with people having known one another for years, it's that it's very rude to exclude people from conversations they are supposedly part of.
Exactly. I've no idea why my first butter munching thread was deleted - because I've not been informed? So what do I assume from that?? It doesn't stop me posting another butter munching post because I'm none the wiser???
Exactly like Allira. If a poster is going to be deleted, or worse, then clear reason has to be given as to which part of the post was offensive/inflammatory/rude/racist etc.
It's a need to know situation.
MartavTaurus, it took me a moment to work out that analogy! Good one though.
Enjoy your ris au beurre with the sea bream. Sounds appetising.

I'm going to chop up peppers and shallots to add to the rice. Oh yes, and saffron to colour it.

Exactly this. If a post is deleted without a clear explanation as to why - what rule was broken, etc - then how is the poster supposed to know not to make a similar post again? It's very confusing all round. To just give a bland explanation that 'post was deleted - see guidelines' doesn't really help matters.
Well that sounds delicious. Je vous envie! !
Nice weather here in Southern U.K. today. Pleasantly summery.
