jenni123 omg, your bus story, a real LOL that one! I read it out to my DH and we're still both giggling about it

I’ve been taking GN too seriously of late. So thought I’d lighten up a bit.
I’m sure you can all think of more to add to the list....
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap
when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Google Maps eally needs to start their directions on # 5.
I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection, again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
16. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
17. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
18. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
19. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
20 Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1 .7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

Lancslass1 go to
www.gransnet.com/forums/chat and near the top is a start a new discussion button to click on,.
When you get to the climax of a good detective/crime show and all of your deductive thoughts on 'who did it' comes to fruition and you're just about to be proven to be the next Mrs Marple, the phone goes with your frantic DD on the other end asking for your advice on how to stop your DGS drawing poo pictures on his bedroom wall
Love this thread! I learned how to fold fitted sheets so long ago I don't remember - but absolutely cannot get a duvet cover on! I blame my short arms (only 5 feet tall).
How about taking a marker pen along to the supermarket and altering the label on the 'Ripen at home' fruit to
'Rotten at home'
However often I check them, the fruits go from hard to squashy overnight
No 13 particularly resonated with me particularly OldMeg, but can you please explain No 20, I have never ever in 70 years used the snooze button. I really cannot understand why anyone would wake themselves up before they need to get up, why not just stay asleep until the last minute?
Like it!
Love this thread. A change from moans and groans [mine!]. I was fascinated by how to fold up a flat sheet - rather tortuous though? Perhaps it gets quicker with experience. In the meantime I'll continue to stuff mine in the drawer as creases don't show once it's spread out on the bed
golden girl, I like your style!
Re
opening a discussion.
Thank you Vickya.
I get an email from Gransnet each day and there are 5 threads .
They are the only ones I look at but I expect on the forum page there are other ones.
Am I right please?
Are the 5 that are sent in the email ,the most recent or the most popular?
I have to admit that having discovered the site recently I haven't checked everything out properly yet.
I expect the answers are there somewhere.
#11 is not just for people who work - I often get that 'moment' in the day when I know nothing productive will get done. And I'm retired. But isn't that what retirement's for?
And #19 applies to reading as well. How many times have I read a whole page in a book, only to turn the page and realise I didn't take any of it in? I was just mechanically reading 'words' while my mind was elsewhere.
jenni123 love your story, made me really giggle, can't wait to recount to OH when he gets in. Aren't little ones lovely in their innocence.
Ha ha! Loved this OldMeg and all resonated with me!
Bathsheba, that’s so true. Annoying, isn’t it!? A kind of extension to needing to check the time more than once.
Love the thread. Really lightened up my day!
Especially the Tupperware lid.
Re 'What'.... I got told off for saying what. 'Pardon' sounds posh....
Now I say 'Sorry?' Feels right to me.
LOL! I feel I must add, that the same friend who deletes the computer history, should remove personal items from the bedside cabinet ?
Loving these light hearted observations OldMeg. I’d add why do I get halfway through a book before remembering I’ve read it before, then I have to finish it because I can’t remember the end.
jenni123 HA HA HA...…...brilliant, I'm still laughing, I would loved to have seen the faces of those passengers and the conductor, HA HA...….thank you for that.
Love all the suggestions. We need to do this more often. Too much depression is bad for us all.
Schnackie surely 5 feet tall means short legs.???? Like me.
Well done OldMeg for bringing a smile to us all, and thank you jenni123 for making me laugh till I cried. I remembered hearing a little girl talking to her Mum in a toilet cubicle, suddenly saying in a loud voice ' oh well done Mummy you've done a poo and a wee!' I stayed in my cubicle until they had washed hands and gone, purely to save the poor woman's blushes.
Old Meg, you are very clever, think for yourself and write well. This list has made me smile.
Here's a few more:
-everyone should have the day off work on their birthday
-why don't people ever compare themselves with others who are worse off andf be grateful instead of contrasting their lot with billionaires to make themselves unhappy?
-why change clocks twice a year to cut off an hour of daylight in the evening? We'd all be happier if the October change didn't happen.
-why do tolerant people tolerate the intolerant? It's contradictory, absurd and positively harmful by empowering the wicked.
-Sprouts. Why?
-Ditto wasps.
-do young women not know the the duck pout they put on for selfies makes them look strange?
-Serving Champagne warm should come with a custodial sentence
-Cake solves almost everything.
