Well done all;really funny post
The solar eclipse on Wednesday 12th August
I’ve been taking GN too seriously of late. So thought I’d lighten up a bit.
I’m sure you can all think of more to add to the list....
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap
when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Google Maps eally needs to start their directions on # 5.
I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection, again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
16. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
17. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
18. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!
19. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
20 Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1 .7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

Well done all;really funny post
Has anyone seen the comedy way to fold fitted sheets on YouTube . Not very good at links but it’s on:
www.rightthis minute.com.video
Teach us how to fold a fitted sheet Terri. It’s hilarious!?
Perhaps we should ask for a dedicated thread for light-hearted and/or funny posts? Seems like we all like a ?. I think there’s already a jokey one running
Old Meg; Couldn't agree more! We could be soulmates.
I've been a member for only 5+ months and have longed to see a forum titled "Jokes Only" or "Humour Only" I've always tried to see the funny side of any situation when appropriate, which seems to ruffle a few feathers from time to time, but who cares!
Gather everything under the one Forum instead of scattered as of now and any humourless posters will know not to look and thereby upset themselves.
You're smarter than me so could I trust you to set it up? I've still got ideas and material to go!
1 Clear your computer history frequently - you never know. And leave instructions for the hard drive to be smashed up
3. DM used to say 'You'll be glad to go to bed when you're older' to which I would reply 'No, I won't!'. Yes, Mum, I am
5 I don't want to know (I leave it to DH)
12 Who will want my LPs?
17 "Really?, oh really, really?" is a good alternative, nodding and smiling as you say it.
I've been feeling really really depressed and this thread has cheered me up no end, especially the one about the little girl and her mum talking on the bus. Thank you!
In addition to removing computer history when I die, I’ve also asked my best friend to remove a certain item from my bedside drawer! ?
So very funny OldMeg. I love number 2, that's me!
Same here Willow500 lol It always happens.
brilliant list glad its not just me that always wonders what happened to the deceased nosey nature
Yes OldMeg I think I was/ am on the right thread. I though it was about things that puzzle us and why anyone wants to compete to be the most ill or take the most meds puzzles me.
Many of the other replies are also about things that are puzzling too.
Why are you all folding fitted sheets, I fold them roughly and then when you next stretch them over the bed they are ironed and lovely.
Great thread. Thank you, Meg.
Just logged back on to read all these lovely and funny comments. Your kind remarks made me smile and your examples made me laugh.
Thank you ??❤️
I wondered whether you meant it for a diffferent thread too, ginny. It did seem as though you, too had been taking Gransnet posts a bit too seriously, as the original poster said that she had, and as if you were still being too serious about old people (Gransnet posters?) and aches and pains.
It is nice to get a humorous thread, Oldmeg It gets a bit solemn on here sometimes.
Thanks OldMeg, this thread could go on for ever:
Why is it that younger shop assistants can't look me in the eye? Am I really that hideous?
Why do I seem unable to remember more than one thing at a time?
Why has my vacuum cleaner put on weight?
Why do I spend hours composing a shopping list, then leave it on the kitchen table?
Why do I look at young strong men and think ” I could do with one of those”? There are umpteen things that need fixing in my house.
Why is it almost impossible to find shoes in size 3? One assistant told me ”size 3 isn't very popular”. OK then, I'll go home and shrink my feet.
Why do I wake up so early in the morning? When the children were young and early risers I decided that when I was retired I would have a lie-in every morning.
Why do carrots go limp after a couple of days? They used to last for ages.
Well done OldMeg! And everyone else too, you are all quite clever!
Greta I splashed out on a box of organic veg two weeks ago. A few carrots are still left to eat, and they are almost as good as they were a fortnight ago. The ones in supermarkets have been washed clean - to do that they must bung them in an enormous container of water and bash them around until all the dirt is off. Then they pack them still damp, so they have been transported wet and bruised. No wonder they are limp and weary, and go black and mouldy before you can eat them.
No Elegran not finding it too serious. I find the competition very amusing.
Great thread, this! Thanks, Old Meg.
Duvet covers, replacing of: again you tube has the answer.
Essentially, place the duvet cover on the bed inside out.
Place the duvet on top of it
Roll the two together like a swiss roll, down to the open end
Flip inside out at the open end.
Unroll, et voila!
You're welcome....
Blinko it sounds like magic!!
^Sprouts. Why?
Because, because, because
1 they are good for you
2 they taste good
3 they make you f**t
Why, when you've lost one earring, and wait for weeks/months/years before you throw the odd earring out, does the original lost earring suddenly turn up? So now you're back to having only 1 earring again.
When you lose something in the house; you search everywhere for it. No cushion, drawer, cupboard or pocket is left unsearched. You finally give up. Only to find it exactly where you looked the previous day * and it wasn't there*!
I'll definitely be trying the quilt cover tip.
It seems to take an age these days to put a clean cover on.
I sometimes have to rest and go back to it!
Jan66 I am crying here! Sooo many Tupperware lids that don’t fit!
^7. Google Maps really needs to start their directions on # 5.
I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood^
How can it take nearly two hours to get somewhere which should only take 27 minutes according to the sat nav?
