This week I looked on eBay for shrubs. Didn't buy.

Next day received a mail . Based on my viewing they suggested others items of interest to me,

Men's pants

Men's Lycra shorts.

Oil for a car engine.

An iPhone

Some contraption for my tv so I can view the same programme as I go from room to room .

Other items but I deleted the mail.

There was not one shrub/plant included

Don't ever type in "Lingerie" on the internet; Phew!

I like the emails from Amazon saying that they are delivering your parcel today. They are always received when you are already out!

vampirequeen Sat 06-May-17 16:48:57

And the one that says 'we have delivered your parcel' that arrives hours after you've opened it, disposed of the wrapping and put together whatever it is you've ordered.

Another web group I belong to found that advertising was often linked to whatever we were discussing so we set out to find the best adverts for bizarre comments. Our favourite was when we discussed 'big knickers'. Not only did we get adverts for plus size underwear but also for big knockers (door not female anatomy lol)

grin!

Anniebach Sat 06-May-17 17:36:23

Well, I don't have a car and not had any reason to engage in a coversation on men's pants or Lycra shorts. I do buy knickers on line but not from eBay. Girls knickers I hasten to add

I usually find that after I have bought something on ebay, I am inundated with adverts suggesting I buy more of exactly the same thing! I possibly might buy more tights, but second-hand sewing machines?

Some years ago I read a natural history book by Bill Oddie. He said "Whatever you do don't Google "Wild Life"!"

I actually looked at the recommendations eBay had found for me last week. Nothing like anything I'd ever bought! (Admittedly I do tend to buy some very strange things)

Beammeupscottie. Friend was considering buying DD a necklace of pearls for her 18th. Don't go there!!

Luckygirl Sat 06-May-17 21:41:30

I onvec bought a SheeWee online and received a "you bought that, so we think you would like this" message offering me tent pegs! [confused}

We finally decided it was because campers and outdoor types buy SheeWees, but it did seem a bit random

Luckygirl Sat 06-May-17 21:41:54

confused

Swanny Sat 06-May-17 21:59:45

Elrel I once had to explain to a male work colleague why I'd inadvertently laughed when he said he was giving his wife a string of pearls for her birthday ... blush

Jalima1108 Sat 06-May-17 22:53:01

Am I the only one who is confused?
and daren't google it just in case?

Coolgran65 Sat 06-May-17 22:55:58

I must be naive... I don't understand..... string of pearls ???

Jalima1108 Sat 06-May-17 22:59:27

Not just me then
Put us out of our misery please!!

Jalima1108 Sat 06-May-17 23:00:10

Well, I have bought some trailing lobelia called 'String of Pearls' - not that I assume.

mumofmadboys Sat 06-May-17 23:23:34

I'm none the wiser either. Please explain someone.

BlueBelle Sun 07-May-17 05:23:40

Me neither ???

Pittcity Sun 07-May-17 07:49:58

Who's going to explain that a "pearl necklace " is something that a man can give you without the need to visit a jewellers!
I am too coy to tell you how, Google it (it's not too shocking)!

Luckygirl Sun 07-May-17 07:59:42

Very nicely put Pittcity!

ninathenana Sun 07-May-17 08:00:27

Off to google, I'm obviously more naive than I thought.
Will have to ask D if she knows grin

Greenfinch Sun 07-May-17 08:33:41

Oh dear!I have just looked it up. shock grin

annsixty Sun 07-May-17 09:07:50

Well in the deaire to educate myself so did I.
I just hope none of my GC go through my browsing history grin

DanniRae Sun 07-May-17 09:23:44

No, I'm not going to look - I'd rather stay in ignorance!
Many years ago my ex-son-in-law (who was 6ft 7ins tall) googled 'Big Men'!! - let's just say it wasn't what he was looking for...........shock
