That's it.

Commiserations to all you but it is reassuring to know I'm not the only one (aged 65) who each day finds a new ache or pain!! I'm trying to get DH to change our three piece as I'm blaming that when I've watched tv and get up (creaking and groaning) to retire to bed. Trouble is we've only had it for a year and a half so there is little or no hope of it going any time soon! Back, hips and knees are definitely not what they were and I noticed the decline at around 62. Having said all this it is far better than the alternative and I will not slow up until I really have to. We are off to Borneo next week which involves trekking through the rainforest/jungle so fingers crossed I complete that challenge (and tick another off my bucket list!) and raise the flag for us more mature ladies!!

I've only got to do one thing, like going grocery shopping or turning out a cupboard and I'm absolutely shattered. Like it's been said, "The spirit is willing but the flesh weak" Very disappointing to get like that at 65.

Cupcake....are you going to be the wild woman of Borneo!!!

DH and I are dog sitting at the moment and this afternoon we took the grand-dog for a long walk to the park, round the park and home again. About 15 minutes after we got home, all three of us were spark out! Doesn't bode well does it?

Bloomin eck Jings! I thought you were mid fifties.

Ye Gods, this age thing. To be honest I can spring ( well nearly) up from the sofa and apart from dodgy knees, currently in remission thanks to cortisone, I'm fairly mobile. I think pilates has helped . But as for doing things. I'm whacked after 10 minutes of doing any task. I read of people working all day in the garden. How do they do it? Clearing cupboards, tidying wardrobes, hoovering, and I need a long break with a cup of something after a short time. Two or so years ago I was walking up to 6 miles. Yes, it was tiring at the time but I could do it. This tiredness has arrived unexpectedly. I know I'm 75 but feel ( look, or so I'm told) and think younger but my energy levels are lower than people older than me. Currently getting over pneumonia, the culmination of 8 weeks' hacking cough. Even that was a bit of an insult. Btw I did try to upload my ancient hands when everyone else was doing it but the pic failed to upload. I did post asking for help but didn't get any sad. Never mind I'm probably better off keeping them to myself as the hands are really old, skin staying up when pinched, wrinkly, etc. I hadn't noticed before I saw the picture. When I'm better I'm going to write that bucket list and just get in with enjoying it. ?

I feel absolutely knackere so sympathy for all feeling the same. My neighbour and friend is packing up to move and I have to shut my mind to what she is doing. I would have to pay the removal firm to do everything as I can't stand for more than 10 mins and as I must have said several times up thread I HATE IT?

wot Wed 13-Apr-16 20:14:37

I'm drinking lots of strong coffee in an effort to obtain a burst of energy but all it does is give me palpitations! I do love coffee though. Never after 5pm I think if someone handed me a ticket for a holiday, my energy would come straight back!

Can't remember whether it was Bette Davis or Mae West that said "old age ain't for sissies " - wise words!!

It sounds like her of the "is that a gun in your pocket?"

Trying to keep up with DGD in the play park today made us realise that DH and I are both feeling our age.

Judthepud2 Wed 13-Apr-16 21:13:52

flowers to everyone feeling the horrible effects of ageing but especially to you harrigran going through chemo. Nasty stuff but hopefully killing off those problematic little cancer cells! Look after yourself and rest lots.

I'm actually feeling better than I have felt for 7 years, having finished hormone therapy for BC, no longer taking alendronic acid to counter the bone softening effects of the HT but which made me very sick, and now taking medication to help me breathe properly after scarring of the lung by radiotherapy. My face looks wonderful in the mirror.....until I put on my glasses and discover all those age spots and wrinkles. But oh dear those hands!

Bellanonna Wed 13-Apr-16 21:31:51

Hand absolutely fine jud. So sorry you've had a tough time and glad you're feeling better.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 13-Apr-16 23:12:51

Bellanonna I'm sorry nobody helped you with your picture. sad I did try to think what it might be, but I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't load. I should have at least said that.

Bellanonna Thu 14-Apr-16 14:42:11

No worries jings. In retrospect I'm glad it didn't load grin

I had acupuncture for my shoulder last week, and the physio said I had an unusually complicated arrangement of veins near my thumb, making it difficult to find the right spot to put her needle!
Some of our hand pics look rather similar, nothing wrong with looking your age, but would prefer not to feel it!

My middle finger has always curved to the left. Born that way! I'm 62 and my knees are bone on bone. I've had those " lubricating" injections twice and gotten five years pain free but this last time only three. Does anyone ever get a random short jab of pain and then imediately another one in a totally different place? They aren't deep pains it's like the pain travels like lighting! Must be some nerve involvement.

wot Thu 14-Apr-16 17:49:31

Lovely nails, envious. I'm envious (of them)

Judthepud2 Fri 15-Apr-16 13:55:48

I was always told what a young voice I had. Today, while chatting with DH, I noticed for the first time that old lady wobble in my voice sad

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 15-Apr-16 14:16:41

I've stopped chatting. That's not good is it? Just cba.

wot Fri 15-Apr-16 14:38:45

Ooh, come on Jings, I enjoy your chats!
