Jalima I was well wrapped up and in a sheltered position.
My thermometer read 23° in the sun but it didn't feel like that with the 'breeze' but then I am a 'half full' sort of person!

I used to be able to do that in my Pilates class.

Since the hip replacement almost 11 years ago I have practised getting up out of a chair without pushing with my hands and can still do it. Getting out of the bath, however, involves rolling over onto my knees and pushing up with hands and feet. So far, so good...

I am OK with everything except sitting down on the loo , my right knee hurts not sure why -it doesn't hurt to stand up again. I am don't care though as feeling somewhat eurphoric as went to cardiac clinic yesterday and was told everything was fine and what happened was a bit of a mystery! Yippee!

Why, what happened?!

jing remember that DH had heart attack? Well 10 days later I woke up with what I thought was indigestion which got worse over the next hour and a half- I dialed111to see if taking a pain killer would make the indigestion worse or be OK - they called an ambulance who took an heart thingy and said something is wrong and off I went to A&E! Doctors decided it was angina brought on by stress and I went to the clinic for some follow up stuff. All's well.

No. I couldn't do it at all starting with legs crossed. I would have fallen over.

I got down to crouching, with legs in normal position, but if I had tried to put bum down to sit, I would have toppled back with legs in the air. So I didn't.

After several tries, my knees got very ouchy.

So if you are kneeling say can you get up without holding into anything?

I did vaguely think in bed last night, that might not have been the best thing to do, especially just before going out at the weekend. But all seems fine.

Glad to hear it.

My knees went suddenly last April and I am waiting for a knee replacement. From regular walking and reasonable fitness, I have had to become accustomed to hobbling around with a stick I did feel superior though when filling in a form for the physio department which asked 'do you need help dressing, getting out of bed/ off the toilet' and I could answer 'no'.
A friend recently said I would need raised beds in the garden and drawers in the Kitchen instead of bottom cupboards, however I don't think so, as I have found different ways of doing my usual tasks (often involving a long grabby stick, a chair or a convenient supple grandchild!)
