My knees went suddenly last April and I am waiting for a knee replacement. From regular walking and reasonable fitness, I have had to become accustomed to hobbling around with a stick
I did feel superior though when filling in a form for the physio department which asked 'do you need help dressing, getting out of bed/ off the toilet' and I could answer 'no'.
A friend recently said I would need raised beds in the garden and drawers in the Kitchen instead of bottom cupboards, however I don't think so, as I have found different ways of doing my usual tasks (often involving a long grabby stick, a chair or a convenient supple grandchild!)
