Soop what an apt name for the new kitchen. Happy 5th birthday to the 'wee man', there's just a month between him and my DGD who has also turned 5. It's such a lovely age.

How lovely Iam, not long now. flowers

aggie Mon 13-Apr-15 19:31:21

The ditches here are full of primroses , just thought you would like to know smile

I told an American friend who asked about Cambozola that is was a Euro cheese - halfway between Camembert and Gorgonzola. She had never heard of either so that joke fell flat.

grin, elegran.

aggie, isn't it lovely? I noticed several new patches of primroses in my boggy lawn today too smile

I've been digging some out of mine, to move elsewhere. Lovely. As is Cambozola, one of my favourites too. Congrats Iam ! Happy news.

It's my 41st wedding anniversary today. On our way back from a visit to the hospital for my husbands check up, we noticed a large tent in the middle of a field beside a fast flowing dual carriageway. We decided to investigate and found fields of tulips tucked in behind. A sign said it was a charity for children with cancer. A young chap explained that he would lift as many tulips as we'd like, with bulbs attached, and we could offer him what we felt we could afford.
We arrived home with an armful. I now have tulips all over the house, and bulbs to plant in the Autumn.
A lovely idea. smile

Hello everyone. I go away for a few days and what happens in the mean time, you lot all move into another kitchen. Good job someone left a trail of cake crimes for me to follow grin. Nice name for the new kitchen Soop and happy birthday to your young man.

I see Galen is here with her hunky toy boys!

Congratulations to Iam and ffinocchio. I'll join you for a glass of bubbly dusty and if there's any cambozola going I'll have some of that too. Cheers everyone.

Cake crumbs not crimes!

rubysong Mon 13-Apr-15 22:25:40

Hello everyone. I've been lurking around the door but have been lured in by the prospect of Anno's Dundee cake. I need a bit of cheering up as I only have another day with DS1 and family here in California before we head home (via Washington DC.) Also for the last few days I have had the worst cold I've had in years and I'm still 'barking like a dog' and very sore with it. (I think the germs came from DGS but I still love him.)

Hi. Is it it all right if I pop in for a moment? I am having bit of a worrying time at the moment as all is not well with absentdaughter whose sixth baby is due on Thursday. I am rather concerned about her and helping out by having my three-year old grandson to stay for a couple of nights. He, of course, is pure joy, but I think I am beginning to lose my voice from reading so many stories. I wouldn't mind a cup of coffee as it's turned really chilly here today and there's even heavy snow further south. I haven't brought any offerings today but next timer I pop in, I'll bring my famous (?) carrot cake.

p.s. Cambazola was created in Germany specifically for the UK market in the 1970s. If you haven't tried it and you want something indulgently rich beyond belief, try Dolcelatte Torta which is made with alternating layers of mascarpone and Dolcelatte.

pps Glad to see that you are still with Gransnet Galen.

Crafting cake crumbs not crimes would be a great slogan on a t shirt.

Ana Mon 13-Apr-15 23:21:13

Just tiptoeing in so as not to disturb the regulars - absent I sincerely hope everything goes well for your DD, you must be so worried - tiptoeing out again.

Thank you Ana.

nannieroz111 Tue 14-Apr-15 07:02:37

Just popped in to say hello. Love the new kitchen soop smile

Iam64 Tue 14-Apr-15 07:37:02

absent, no wonder you haven't had time to make your famous carrot cake. Not long before absent daughter's baby arrives and I do hope all is well with her and her loved ones.
Good to see Galen in here and congrats to ffinochio smile

baubles Tue 14-Apr-15 07:46:27

'Morning all.

Congratulation & happy anniversary ffin flowers

absent my very best wishes for your daughter, it must be such a worrying time for you.

Lona Tue 14-Apr-15 07:50:20

absent you're welcome in here any time. Hope your worries are unfounded and all goes well for your dd.
Three yr olds are great company to cheer you up and take your mind off things!

Lona Tue 14-Apr-15 07:55:34

I'm having sleepless nights too, as my dd is still going through hell with her bastard ex. He has got the girls and is poisoning their minds against their mum. Her face is so swollen with crying.
I know it will end, but when?

moomin Tue 14-Apr-15 08:05:22

Positive vibes and thoughts winging their way to Kitcheners who need them, hope life gets better for you.

Iam64 Tue 14-Apr-15 08:10:17

Worries about our adult children are something we all experience. Thank goodness we have this peaceful, supportive place to visit.

Gagagran Tue 14-Apr-15 08:29:00

I came in quietly looking for the piano so I could do a bit of a background soothing medley for all our sad or worried kitcheners but I can't find it! Has it been left in the old kitchen soop darling? Or are you trying to tell me something? grin
