Just come to say hello as I heard a lot of noise chat and laughter. What a lovely name for your welcoming kitchen soop. If I have time I'll come back later so keep a glass of that champagne for me.

I am eating a chocolate ball (no sniggering from the back of the kitchen please!) and a glass of champagne would be lovely. Sadly however I shall make do with redbush tea, then get back outside for another hour of digging out plants before my back and I give up. I have to get out there, otherwise my own 'man wot does' tends to give up and slope off. He chases butterflies and birds and bees and gets distracted far too easily - it's a bit like being married to a cat.

Well goodness gracious me! I pop into our kitchen just in case there is a Kitchener needing company. What do I find...an entire entourage and so many goodies to share between us. You know what...^you lot^ are the very best thing that ever happened to me online. You are amazing. POGS I'm a wee bit teary-eyed. Thank you. I shall now slurp some Champers and woofle on the home-baked cakes.

I've been labouring away for far too long on the pooter. Every so often, without as much as a by your leave, the wretched thing cuts me off from whatever it is I'm attempting to do. I'm very miffed with it at the moment. What a time waster.

Our wee boy is five today. There are some super images waiting to be uploaded. Thanks to the gremlin in the computer, I have yet to deal with them. When I have time [the ironing awaits] I shall make certain that I can upload a few to share with you. At the slow pace I'm making it will possibly be tomorrow before I can do so.

soop, I love our new name. Thank you kindly! I'm back from my weekend in Dundee. Had a lovely walk around St Andrews on Friday - really warm - a lightweight sweater was enough. Nephew and his wife and two lovely wee boys dropped in on Saturday. Such agreeable children! And on Saturday we went to a very lively performance of the Gershwin musical 'Crazy about You'. Great singing and dancing. Sunday saw us at the cinema for 'Woman in Gold', a film with Helen Mirren as a Holocaust exile trying to recover the Klimt pictures taken by the Nazis and appropriated by a Viennese museum who refuse to recognise her title to them. Very moving and a wonderful performance from Mirren. So all in all, a very good weekend. I caught up with this thread's predecessor last night but it had all been said, so I restrained myself. Welcome back anno I shall catch up with you tomorrow. I meant to also WELCOME some lovely newcomers to the kitchen. The more the merrier. Isn't that a fact.

I feel bad at scooting away when there are so many delightful people in our busy kitchen. Please be sure that I shall return just as soon as I'm able tomorrow. In the meantime...be as good as you need to be and enjoy each others company. It's so good to be back on track, so to speak. This is the way it should be. for each and every one of you.

I haven't any cake but would love a glass of that bubbly please, as I have good news to share. In fact, I've just nipped into my own kitchen and have a bottle of cold bubbly to share. Given the magical elements of this kitchen, I'm confident there will be enough for us all.

One of my daughters is expecting her first baby. I haven't mentioned this until now, because the pregnancy has been a tad complicated. The news today is that her baby is growing well, the other complications are being well managed and the planned c section may not be necessary. Her baby is due mid May and we are all far beyond thrilled and excited. Everything crossed of course, but it feels safe to share this joyous news.

Congratulations Iam64 that is wonderful news, you must be chuffed to little mint balls, as my mum would say!

Then of all, a discovery I made today: Cambozola on salty crackers does not require butter but on those very common cream crackers I think it is better with butter. Yous need to know this

Yum, Cambozola's my favourite cheese......fabulous on oatcakes too with celery and gherkins- my mouth's watering!

At breakfast I ate mine with strawberries; at tea time I ate it with half an apple cut into chunks. Both were VG.

It was a large apple.

I fond that half an apple tightly wrapped in cling film keeps for days in the fridge. There, that's enough terribly important information for one day.
