Thanks for the poem, soop. It's one of my favourites.

Soutra stay here with us lot...I'm about to open our new kitchen.

Bella I'm so, so sorry to hear this sad news. A very difficult time for you and your family. ((hugs)) , words are so inadequate but you're very much in my thoughts and prayers along with too many other GNs x

Soutra take no notice if people who are stirrers. As I frequently quote from the Dalai Lama,'Don't let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace' and I would add to that 'and stay in soop's kitchen where all is peaceful

On the subject of DH's - I am sad to have to report that my beloved is fading fast. He is home but bedridden and the doctor thinks it won't be long now.
Our eldest is coming over from the States on Friday so I dearly hope that it won't be too late.

Loopylou It is overcast in bonnie Kintyre and the wind has certain chill.
I have been sprucing up the Kitcheners next venue. Not very different from the one we're in at the moment. Perhaps a little roomier and...a virtual sound-proofed corner in which dear Pompa can pluck his ukele.

Sorry, just remembered we don't bring "baggage" to the kitchen, do I will not say more or expect anybody to comment.

It should be a 'good morning" as DH seems to have had a better night for the first time this week, but I have woken up to what I feel is a totally unwarranted, unfair and malicious attack on another thread (or two)
I am gob smacked as I seem to be being accused of something I certainly didn't do and got at because I won' giggle along at something I found distasteful and not funny.
Oh dear, that will teach me to even read some posters

Just back from Bath, got hair done, pottered around with a friend and had to, of course, have coffee (and pastries). Now back to ruddy ironing and must do some weeding . I can pootle around out there in the garden for hours.

At least we have first rosebuds almost out and the sun's sort-of thinking about appearing!

Soutra I'm adding my good wishes for your husband's recovery. You have both had such a trying time recently. I am relieved to hear that he is being treated in a nearby hospital. You couldn't have coped with yet more toing and froing to London.

kittylester Heckers! You may have to do a good bit of eyelash-batting. Do keep us lot updated.

janer What a lovely story you've shared. That dear lady must have been mortified when she realised what had happened to her plants. And then to have to replace them...what an expensive day out. I wonder whether the first batch was ever returned to her. If so, they may have wilted somewhat.

number Will you be keeping a watch on the striped cat? I bet I know the answer to such a silly question.

Soutra, so sorry to hear about your hubby being back in hospital, I hope he`s soon back home, I know how wearisome it gets, traipsing down at visiting time, no sooner are you home than it`s time to set off back again!
We have a hole in our garage roof, can`t afford to have it re-done, and this afternoon when I went to put some washing in the machine, I found a lovely striped cat curled up in there! I don`t know how long he/she had been in there, I haven`t been in since Wednesday.

Oh Soutra. One thing after another.

I'm sorry to hear that soutra. That is a worry for you and exhausting! please let us know how he is!

Soutra I am so sorry to hear that your DH has been kept in hospital. It must be worrying for both of you and so exhausting as well, take care of yourself.

Soutra, my thoughts are with you and your man. I do hope he gets through this quickly and back to being a pest. xxx

Oh dear Soutra, I'm really sorry to hear DH is back in hospital again, it must be getting very wearying for you both, with all the worry.

I haven't said much as there have been so many other traumas, but DH has been in hospital since I took him to A&E at 7.30 on Monday morning!
They (eventually) agreed he needed some blood so admitted him for 2 units, but then on Tuesday found he had a chest infection, started oral anti-b's but subsequently changed these on Thursday to IV after getting results from microbiology, so that was him stuck in for another 5 days
At least it is local and not London, so just a 20 minute drive, but of course I am going twice a day!!
C'est, as they say, la vie.

Now that would be instant divorce material here janer!
DH says no more sneakily remodelling flowerbeds from 'his' (!) lawn. He's now noticing that they've shrunk a little quite a bit!

Trouble is, I'm running out of space and have probably several hundred flower plants growing from seeds in the greenhouse-verbascum, zinnias, sweet peas, etc etc. not to mention cucumber, melon, courgette and tomato plants needing somewhere to grow.
