Yes, my post was a bit ambiguous - perish the thought!

My DGS haven't worn vests since they were about 12mths. And they often turn up at mine in with just a T-shirt on top half.
I keep a couple of hoodies at mine to put them in.

Have spoken to DD she just says 'It's what they're used to'

My DGC don't wear vests. I wish they would, they'd be so much cosier. In the last few years I have rediscovered vests which I stopped wearing as a teenager.

They are shown as aged 2 up to 5. So silly why would even a 5 year old want one?

Little girls need nice warm long vests to keep their tummies and backs warm.

Oh, sorry that was in response to the 'crop top bra' thing, not criticising other people's DGC who do not wear vests as I read the posts after writing this (as usual).

I do wish GDs wore vests too, I have bought many but never see them wearing them. Bras for littlies, I would like to say not needed but I think our 5 year old will need one shortly

I just feel there are certain things little girls will be dealing with as they get older but until these ocassions arise, I really wish they were allowed to just be children and not be pressurised to miss out on the innocence of childhood and forced to grow up to quickly.

GD and GS both wear cotton vests under school shirts and sweatshirts, I am glad to say.

I have written to JL- and their reply was that they made a mistake, showing them with age rather than size on the website. I wrote back to say it is not acceptable- as any child that size does NOT need a bra anyhow.

The more people write, the more they will 'notice' of course.

Think the offending items have been removed from website. The picture was still there when I checked it earlier, but when I clicked on it the info page had been removed.

I have had the same reply granjura and have written back in the same vein as you - a case of great minds thinking alike ! I expect we will receive exactly the same reply from JL too. How do they think a bra for the measurements of a 2 year old will fit a girl who really needs one ?

And would that type of bra/crop top really be useful to a young girl who actually needs support anyway?

JL are saying that the minimum size is 28" which is far too big for a 2 year old, leaving aside the inappropriateness of it.

The photos show what are definitely bras and not crop tops - they are shaped and would look pretty weird on a 2 year old, unless they stuffed some baby wipes down the cups.

It does sound like an error rather than an attempt to sexualise toddlers, which is heartily to be depracated.

I still have my first DD's first bra. It was a 28AAA - she was a VERY skinny teenager. But she loved it - she felt in with all her more rounded peers.

It would be fine if these tops were a bit longer to reach the top of a child's pants. That would be good. Perhaps in these days of central heating and down jackets they don't need full length vests. But they are not. We should inundate JL with emails of complaint, and mention Gransnet.

It is disgusting and JL is the last place you would expect them.

My DGS still wears "vests" that fasten under his crotch.

Covering the body with a close fitting vest, or what ever, keeps a warm air layer next to the body. It keeps you a whole lot warmer as it prevents any draughts.
Says she wearing a longish M &S camisole (aka a vest with thinner straps.)
I seemed to notice that M &S a few years ago had actually started making their camisoles longer so that they actually tuck into trousers or a skirt.

In the link I up up yesterday, the sizes have been changed and the description no longer says 'bras' but crop tops. So the page is still there.
