Hello yet again to you lovely lot. The Champagne is ready. Do hope that I shall be welcoming you very soon. smile

Agus Tue 17-Jun-14 20:20:45

Hope your DH manages to have his flight on Friday Bella. It has reminded me I booked a Sea Plane flight for DH's birthday 18 months ago and between bad health for us and once for the pilot we have been rescheduling hoping to take the flight which takes off from Loch Lomond, all the way up the West Coast to the Hebrides. Had to cancel yet again as DH had a mild heart attack a fortnight ago so I think, in our case, it isn't meant to be, for a good while anyway. I think what your DH will be doing on Friday will be a thrilling experience for him. flowers. Just a tiny bunch and you can plonk it in a tumbler if all your vases are used up grin

DH is booked for an angiogram next Monday and hopefully a stent will be fitted to,give him a better quality of life as at the moment he is completely washed out and has no energy.

Crafting Tue 17-Jun-14 20:43:52

Do you think Soops computer has caught MacSporrans spots ? hmm.
Bellasnana I hope the weather is good for your DHs flight. He must be looking forward to it. Hope it works out ok. If you have room for them please accept another small bunch of flowers from a newcomer.

Soutra Tue 17-Jun-14 20:50:15

Soop, Agus and Bellasnana flowers and warmest wishes to your respective DHs. You have all got your personal mountain to climb and I take my hat off to you. DH also has had no energy for some weeks and it has been hard to summon up enough get up and go for both of us. In his case it was low haemoglobin (7) and ferritin and an iron infusion has been a great help.

Agus Tue 17-Jun-14 21:12:30

For you Soutra. It is indeed hard as Bella said previously, being the strong one. Just trying to jolly along as if life is normal but actually frightened out of our wits when we have no idea what is ahead for our DHs.

I sincerely hope your DH's medication continues to be a great help for him.

Agus Tue 17-Jun-14 21:13:58

Forgot to give you these flowers. grin

granjura Tue 17-Jun-14 22:26:12

Bellasnana- we are going to Trapani, and taking 2 days to get there. Haven't yet decided on the route - will decide on spur of moment.

All the best for the flight for your OH and for his treatment. Thinking of you.

Nelliemoser Tue 17-Jun-14 22:57:26

Bellasnan I do hope your OH gets his flight before he starts his treatment. I will send good weather thoughts his way.

Agus Wed 18-Jun-14 08:47:37

Your trip sounds wonderful Granjura. Spur of the moment makes it more interesting. Enjoy..

Soutra Wed 18-Jun-14 09:07:14

Whoever coined the term " the weaker sex" had certainly no idea of present company!!

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 09:24:52

Hello everyone, have just dropped in for a glass of champagne [somebody reccommended it for a chesty cough.] smileI see Soutra sitting in a corner with a glass in each hand! Is that allowed?
Granjura I would love to visit Sicily sometime, the countryside and coast look amazing [and the architecture, and the food...] and you may bump into Montalbano. Have a good trip.
I have brought some cupcakes as my contribution this morning cupcakecupcake cupcake cupcake cupcake

Agus Wed 18-Jun-14 09:28:38

Obviously a man who either had no interest or a clue as to what a variety of roles females have to play and stoically get on with it Soutragrin. I base this on what DH and male friends admit they couldn't do.

Soutra Wed 18-Jun-14 09:31:25

Given that the sun has not yet reached the yardarm let alone gone over it I should stress that these are reading glasses rosesarered grin

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 09:59:57

Tell it to the Marines Soutra winkwine

kittylester Wed 18-Jun-14 10:08:35

Ok, where are the marines? And the champagne? And those [cupcakes] confused

annodomini Wed 18-Jun-14 10:12:28

Yesterday's U3A monthly talk was about vexillology. Hands up who knows what that is? No-one? Flags, that's what. Turned out to be an interesting topic but an inept speaker (albeit extremely knowledgeable) who tried to make feeble jokes. Nobody laughed. When I got home and switched on the TV to watch the tennis, the match I was watching before I went out was just about ending. I like these pre-Wimbledon tournaments. You get to see some of the emerging talent.

rosesarered Wed 18-Jun-14 10:30:31

The Marines have left now kitty they got a bit upset as nobody believed their tall stories! We have eaten the cupcakes, you are too late.
anno know what you mean about the speaker, at W.I. we would often get an interesting topic but an inept speaker, and sometimes a boring topic but a brilliant and funny speaker. You can never tell, can you?]
kitty we have also drunk the champagne [me and soutra have just staggered out of the kitchen] but I came back to say that Soop says there is another one in the fridge. Hic !

kittylester Wed 18-Jun-14 10:34:26

Bagsy that one for me! grin

Soutra Wed 18-Jun-14 12:07:01

Another Marine in the fridge? Cool, man grin

Crafting Wed 18-Jun-14 12:57:47

Kittylester and Soutra you have to learn to share as my grandchildren would say. So pour out my share of the champers and send the marine over with it please. I have got some cupcakes for you though as I was making some this morning but despite the colour they are actually chocolate. Hope that's ok ? cupcake cupcake cupcake smile

annodomini Wed 18-Jun-14 13:22:54

There I've been out getting my toenails cut (but you didn't really want to know that) and boosting M&S profits buying sunscreen. And here you've been slurping bubbly. What a lot of hedonists! Pass me a glass, please... No, Soutra - a full one!

soop Wed 18-Jun-14 13:24:02

Dear MacSporran has been kind enough to bring the old computer down from the attic. It's taken him some time to link it up etc. Mine is with a chappie in the village. He's been working on it since yesterday afternoon and cannot figure out what's up. May need to return it to manufacturer. Would you believe that the warranty ran out just last month!

MacS is still unwell. We visited GP again yesterday. He said that as soon as the virology results are back, he'll phone with an update.

There is so much news from my Granspals. I feel that I've been away for yonks. Have missed you all. bags has a man coming today to fix the leaky wall. I hope that she's enjoying a proper sunny day...as are we.

I intend to read all your messages and will report back to you a little later. smile

thatbags Wed 18-Jun-14 13:57:47

Oops! Sorry, soop. Builder arrived right after your text and I forgot to tell folks your message blush

soop Wed 18-Jun-14 14:24:45

Bella I'm sure that your dear husband will greatly enjoy the gift of a flight. I do hope that the sun shines for him. smile

anno I shall join you in a glass of Champagne at any time, anywhere...naughty, but Oh so nice. wink

Agus I've heard that having a stent fitted makes a huge difference to the quality of the patient's life. We'll all be rooting for him next Monday.

Soutra Goodness me, your husband must be feeling absolutely drained of energy. I've never heard of iron infusions. Continue to take good care of each other.

rosesarered Clever thinking...I very much like your personal cure for a chesty cough. How many cupcake per hour do you recommend for a swift recovery?

soop Wed 18-Jun-14 14:27:50

bags You are a dear pal. Good to hear that the builder is putting matters to rights. Have you offered him one of your delicious slices? Lucky builder! Will it be a long job? Hopefully not.

whenim64 Wed 18-Jun-14 14:58:51

Agus I hope your DH starts feeling a whole lot better when he's had his stent fitted flowers

soop they're taking long enough with those tests, aren't they? I thought they would have been back to you with the results a few days ago. Fingers crossed you have them soon.
