Filtered milk

I buy Tesco filtered milk because it lasts longer no other particular reason.

Same here tanith - just because it lasts longer. Obviously when I’m out, I’ll have whatever milk is on the go. I don’t think the so called ‘impurities’ are worth worrying about - probably just good advertising by Cravendale!

The filters remove the bacteria that causes milk to go off. Some of the same bacteria that people buy in other products like live yoghurt or is used in cheese making.

Our immune systems benefit from a range if bacteria introduced through the food we eat. A healthy gut us one that has lots of different bacteria in it.

The advantage of filtered is its longer life.

I only buy filtered milk because I can order it in my grocery delivery and know it will last for a lot longer than unfiltered milk.

I bought some when it was on special offer and thought it tasteless. Certainly won't get it again.
Impurities? Meh! As my grandad used to say, everyone needs to eat a peck o'dirt afore they die!

I find that filtered milk is a good alternative to those cartons of UHT milk on supermarket shelves. I buy filtered because it lasts longer and eat other products, like kefir, for my helping of healthy bacteria.

I don’t actually use much milk, so finds cravendale keeps much better

Use only due to long use by date.

We use Cravendale and as we don’t drink milk on its own find it fine.

I also look out for filtered milk as I don't use a lot of milk and it keeps longer. It also freezes well.

I grew up living near or on dairy farms and only ever had unpasteurised milk. Sometimes it was in a bottle but more often scooped straight out of the bulk tank in a jug. Presumably it was full of "impurities" but it didn't cause any of us any problems.

Me too, eddiecat. Ours was quite often still warm.
