Did you get a bit of a thrill, perhaps a slight "frisson" when you put it in the post box?

Charleygirl Sun 22-Nov-15 17:18:58

Eh, phoenix? I do not understand.

Lona Sun 22-Nov-15 17:19:55

Don't tease us phoenix.

Ana Sun 22-Nov-15 17:21:46

It would seem that phoenix has received unwelcome anonymous correspondence, but I don't know what good a thread about it will do...

Ana Sun 22-Nov-15 17:23:37

By which I mean that no one's actually going to confess to it, not that I don't understand the reason for wanting to talk about it.

Alima Sun 22-Nov-15 17:23:45

Billet-doux, competition entry?

Charleygirl Sun 22-Nov-15 17:25:30

I have not got a clue what it is about but maybe it is too personal to discuss on line?

Lona Sun 22-Nov-15 17:25:34

Well, if a gransnetter knows her address that must make it easier to identify them.

Ana Sun 22-Nov-15 17:26:52

I hope the police have been informed!

Anya Sun 22-Nov-15 17:28:05

What in earth.....???

Lona Sun 22-Nov-15 17:28:26

My dd has been on the receiving end of anonymous letters, it is very unpleasant and the police take it very seriously.

Charleygirl Sun 22-Nov-15 17:28:41

How would that happen? I have not got a clue where anybody lives- the county maybe but no closer. I certainly do not know where phoenix lives and why should l?

Luckygirl Sun 22-Nov-15 17:53:48

confused

phoenix Sun 22-Nov-15 17:54:32

Somebody printed off a thread and posted it (anonymously) to someone associated with me, nice!

phoenix Sun 22-Nov-15 17:58:09

Two first class stamps, no expense spared, was there!

janeainsworth Sun 22-Nov-15 18:06:31

So someone who may or may not know you in RL Phoenix but does know the person to whom the copy of the thread was sent?
Not necessarily a GN regular.

rosequartz Sun 22-Nov-15 18:22:43

I hope it wasn't that thread phoenix shock
The trouble is, if you google something, sometimes a GN thread will come up as the answer to your question.
It is all out there on the net.

Why do some people get pleasure from being nasty.

Luckygirl Sun 22-Nov-15 18:29:12

What an extraordinarily bizarre thing to do! And difficult to understand how or why.

I am sorry you have had this hassle phoenix and hope that it has not caused you any difficulties.

Alima Sun 22-Nov-15 18:31:15

Sorry Phoenix, read the post as do and not did.

rosesarered Sun 22-Nov-15 18:40:17

phoenix how would anybody here know either your addres or anyone associated with you?Very unpleasant anyway for you, what a malicious thing to do!

rubysong Sun 22-Nov-15 18:47:31

The anonymity of GN is important so that we can say whatever we think without worrying. Please don't let someone's meanness put you off Phoenix, we need your input.

annsixty Sun 22-Nov-15 18:53:52

If it was the thread I am thinking of it would not be difficult to identify "someone" well known to * Phoenix*

phoenix Sun 22-Nov-15 19:09:31

I must say that both myself and GNHQ were pretty gobsmacked (to use the vernacular), but it would appear that there is someone out there who is spiteful and malicious!
Actually, I feel quite sorry for them, in a way.

Ana Sun 22-Nov-15 19:28:13

Sorry, phoenix, I had assumed it was you yourself who'd received the anonymous missive because of something you posted on another thread.

When I think about it there is information on here which could potentially identify quite a few GNetters to someone determined to cause trouble. We should all be aware of this I'm afraid...sad

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 22-Nov-15 19:33:42

What thread was it?

Have you talked about Gransnet to anyone at work?

You must have some idea who it could be. Why would they do that?
