Tonight!

A welcome relief from election woes and far more easy on the eye.

Bring it on.

Doesn't seem 2 minutes since the last series. I'll record it and save for a rainy afternoon.

ninathenana Sun 11-Jun-17 14:27:32

I'll be recording it an watching The Loch on ITV

kittylester Sun 11-Jun-17 14:29:12

I'm doing to opposite nina, then I can fast forward the ads.

Teetime Mon 19-Jun-17 08:59:12

Is it just me or is it really boring now?

Lona Mon 19-Jun-17 09:02:07

No, it's always been a bit boring ?

shysal Mon 19-Jun-17 09:20:40

The first episode was one of the usual BBC 'in the dark' dramas. I was glad when the lunar eclipse was over! Haven't watched last night's yet, but hope it was an improvement.

I was so lucky yesterday, winning a prize at "the party " arranged by GNHQ and now will start another prize draw.
Hands up anyone like me has never seen Poldark( and really doesn't want to.)

Yes, yes I don't need to read the thread but I have.

ninathenana Mon 19-Jun-17 09:42:31

kitty I have to do it that way round so I can watch "that rubbish" when H isn't around grin
I agree the first episode was far from riveting. Will watch episode 2 tomorrow.

Ana Mon 19-Jun-17 09:47:18

Not watching this series. Only just managed to struggle through the last one...

nigglynellie Mon 19-Jun-17 11:42:59

Well, I'm a simple soul and I love Poldark! I loved it the first time round and I'm loving it this time round improbable though it all is! You can keep intellectual slanging matches, and meaningful discussions! Will Dr Ennis survive? (of course he will!!) The horror when George discovers Valentine's paternity, the drama is endless!

henetha Mon 19-Jun-17 11:46:32

Totally agree nigglynellie. What's not to like? Dramatic story, good actors, beautiful scenery. It's fantastic.
And a welcome relief from real life these days.
Three cheers for Poldark!

henetha Mon 19-Jun-17 11:47:45

P.S. I watch The Loch too, - an hour later on ITV+1.

merlotgran Mon 19-Jun-17 12:04:50

Please bring back Jud sad

Lillie Mon 19-Jun-17 12:06:51

Love the programme, even went to Cornwall last year for two weeks on the strength of watching the wonderful scenery. The acting is good, so are the costumes and the story, although predictable, has a few amusing twists.

nigglynellie and henetha you're right. I have an intellectual job which involves a bit of argy bargy and meaningful discussions too, so Sunday evening Poldark is good for some relief from real life and from certain GN threads.

The young love intrigue with Morwenna is sweet and innocent, but no doubt there will be more twists and turns, and yes, I too believe Dr Ennis will survive.

Jane10 Mon 19-Jun-17 12:06:52

I still think Ross looks like he must smell awful!

Lillie Mon 19-Jun-17 12:20:54

Time for him to take his clothes off and go naked into the sea again then, Jane10. Yes, please!!

Jane10 Mon 19-Jun-17 12:43:14

Yuk no!
I still like George. He was so funny as that gormless Threepwood in the Blandings programme. I can't take him seriously as the baddie!

kittylester Mon 19-Jun-17 12:48:16

I loved the books and then the first series and I'm loving this series too. It's easy Sunday night viewing which is just what I like. I hope Dwight survives and, despite what I said at the beginning, I can't flipping remember. confused

nigglynellie Mon 19-Jun-17 12:57:27

We lived near Penzance when we were first married, so I suppose Poldark scenery reminds us both of those two very happy years we were in Cornwall. Obviously George is going to gun for those two brothers of Demelza now he's a magistrate! Oh dear, another worry, particularly with Morwennas involvement!!!! I think most people smelt pretty awful in those days Jane10, particularly after all that manual labour which in reality I doubt very much that Ross would have done, as he was a member of the gentry! but not to worry, it makes a good story!!!!!

Brilliant acting in last night's episode of Poldark.
Poor Morwenna! And if looks could kill amongst the others.

Good portrayal of post traumatic stress disorder after conflict in battle too.

Lona Mon 17-Jul-17 10:27:01

I'm still watching, but mainly for the scenery (not just the coastline either!) ?
Those babies and children are so well hidden well behaved aren't they?

merlotgran Mon 17-Jul-17 10:28:46

They were certainly chubby.

pollyperkins Sun 30-Jul-17 19:48:20

Brilliant acting from Aunt Agatha! I was yelling at TV telling George not to be so mean re her birthday party. Poor thing never had the party.
