Tonight!

A welcome relief from election woes and far more easy on the eye.

Bring it on.

As you say, POOR Morwenna, I can't remember what the outcome of all that was very except that first time round Christopher Biggins played the rev Whitworth(?) and people apparently shouted at him in the streets, so incensed were they at his treatment of Morwenna!!!! a bit like Deidre Barlow going to prison!! The irony was that Christopher Biggins is gay so not very likely to be real!!!!
I do remember what happened to Elizabeth, but I'm not saying!!!

ninathenana Mon 31-Jul-17 12:09:43

I gave up on this a couple of weeks ago. The whole Ross n George thing zzzzzzz

nigglynellie Mon 31-Jul-17 12:26:45

Whatever rows your boat!!!!

Teetime Mon 31-Jul-17 12:44:34

Me too I just ask DH for the headlines afterwards I find this series very dull and the story lines repetetive.

nigglynellie Mon 31-Jul-17 15:23:00

Well, I love it even though it clearly never rained in Cornwall in 1795 and was almost permanently summer!! Children who were unrealistically good and quiet! Aunt Agatha's paupers grave is ummm?! Doubt George much as he disliked her would risk his reputation in such a way!, but for all this and a lot more, I love it!! You can't constantly have a diet of intellectual thought provoking telly! Well I can't!

kittylester Mon 31-Jul-17 15:54:44

I think I've said this before - I loved the books, I loved the first series and I love this one too.

I also love Dwight and Ross!

I think the Reverend Oswald Whitworth (?) actor is very brave to play such a hideous man. And, he plays him so well. Must look him up.

kittylester Mon 31-Jul-17 16:10:54

Osborne Whitworth. The actor is Christian Brassington.

Jane10 Mon 31-Jul-17 16:26:21

He is excellent at the role but I reckon that actor will struggle to find employment again!

kittylester Mon 31-Jul-17 16:33:57

It didn't do Biggins any harm. grin

ninathenana Mon 31-Jul-17 17:19:45

kitty an article in the paper today shows he deliberately put on 2 stn to look the part. He is rather fit in real life, in every sense wink

kittylester Mon 31-Jul-17 17:22:31

I saw that, nina, but I didn't want to lower the tone! grinblushwink

Jalima1108 Mon 31-Jul-17 19:54:28

Here he is Gransnetters - rather gorgeous and I hope he manages to lose the weight (he has said it is a struggle and I can sympathise!)

Jane10 Tue 01-Aug-17 22:06:36

He looks OK. Blimey it's amazing that he can transform into such a repellent b*****d!

loopyloo Thu 03-Aug-17 10:42:36

Love the series! But it's so gloomy it cheers me up. Why is Demelza always in such low cut dresses? Surely she would have caught pneumonia by now! And George, I have some sympathy for him.Ross would irritate me.

nigglynellie Thu 03-Aug-17 11:19:35

I think the low cut dress is because it's always summer, never rains, and the temperature never falls below 20c!!!! but I love it!!

Jane10 Thu 03-Aug-17 12:16:10

George and Elizabeth have the most interesting roles I think. Ross and Demelza are so obviously the good guys. Elizabeth must be so torn at times. Quite tragic really. Poor puffed up George trying to climb socially but never quite making it. So much more interesting.

I'm a bit confused over the part played by Morwenna's younger sister. Is she trying to lure the vicar away from Morwenna to give her a break, or is she actually as sex obsessed as he is?

nigglynellie Thu 03-Aug-17 13:46:48

I THINK she's trying to lure him away, (yuk!) but I could be wrong!

GillT57 Thu 03-Aug-17 14:25:58

Blimey, the actor that plays the repellent vicar isn't going to be handbagged in the supermarket is he? Looks nothing like the vile character he plays, bet Morwenna wouldn't have objected to the real actor!

nigglynellie Thu 03-Aug-17 15:04:01

Christopher Biggins was, so who knows!!

Jalima1108 Thu 03-Aug-17 17:08:38

He looks OK
He looks more than OK!!
wink

MawBroon Sun 06-Aug-17 21:49:32

Oh dear, Demelza!
Oh dear Cap'n Ross!

MawBroon Sun 06-Aug-17 21:58:14

Oh Prudie!

merlotgran Sun 06-Aug-17 22:08:42

Oh bugger. It's the end of the series grin

kittylester Mon 07-Aug-17 07:42:14

loopy, Ross could irritate me anytime!

I love Poldark - perfect Sunday evening viewing.
