Is anyone watching this fast paced police drama? Set in and around the Brighton beach area.

I am loving it. Episode 4 this wednesday at 8pm (BBC). If you like this sort of thing it might be a good idea to catch up with previous 3 episodes first though. There are new cases every week but we do learn a little bit more relevant information about each character each time, so there is a story running within the story if you get what I mean.

Itis quite gritty for an 8pm slot and considering some scenes in this weeks episode I am amazed it can be shown before the 9pm watershed.

That will be a terrible shame if they end it there, so much more we need to know.

Oh no! (About Luther being a two-parter only) Stingy lot!

So, was that the last episode of Cuffs? And last ever? tchsad

Just when you think there's something decent to watch.... tchhmm

It's ridiculous isn't it, when series like New Tricks went on years and years after it was past its best.

But New Tricks, with its new cast, was recovering nicely when they scrapped it altogether. I thought that Denis Lawson, Larry Lamb and Nicholas Lyndhurst made an excellent ensemble though I may be in a small minority in having that opinion!

I loved the new ensemble in New Tricks

I only watched cuffs because Brighton is my home town which I left in the 1970,s and still love it. Thought the show was "over the top"

Love it, I like the way it shows you their lives out of work too.

I still liked New Tricks with the new cast too annodomini, especially The Nicholas Lyndhurst character. I really enjoyed Cuffs, such a shame they aren't doing another series.

Going a bit off thread here sorry, having been wathching a new programme on Sky Living called Blindspot and they play background music ( I suppose to make it more dramatic ) nearly all the way through it , it really spoils the programme for me does anyone else find this really irritating ?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 18-Dec-15 09:06:47

New Tricks was too tame for me. (I think it was put out specially for the oldies)

Oh! I am one! tchconfused

I have it 10 minutes at the beginning and have up. Now wish I'd kept with it by all the remarks.

Are they not doing another series of Cuffs? I'd be sorry if they weren't. I always enjoyed NewTricks as well. Its not the actual crimes but the characters and the banter I liked. TV can be too gritty and NT was an excellent antidote to the hard hitting stuff.

Alima Tue 22-Dec-15 07:31:44

No, apparently it is because the viewing figures were not as high as they wanted. Shame, they often do that to progs I enjoy, remember Frankie about the district nurse which was axed after one series. Like you Jane 10 I enjoyed the characters in NT more than the stories.
