Is anyone else in training for Wimbledon? I watched 2 whole hours of Roland Garros yesterday! grin

I always thought that BB was gross - how anyone could have fancied him is quite beyond me - maybe it had to be done in a dark cupboard, as is reported to have happened.

I have gone right off Djokovic tonight. Tsonga is such a good natured sweetie but Djokovic is spiteful and clearly resents the crowd's support for Jo- Willy. The umpire is a bit of a dish too isn't he?

Soutra Mon 30-Jun-14 20:44:45

Sorry to offend eloethan. Of course what Sue Barker looks like isn't important just expressing an opinion.

whenim64 Mon 30-Jun-14 20:50:05

Yes, Djokovic is being a bit precious tonight, isn't he? I'd love to see Tsonga go through - he's a pleasure to watch.

Talking of Sue Barker looking passed her best, I have just seen Cilla Black on the news and she looked awful, I wonder if she is ill ?

Wow again! This match between Nadal and Kyrgios is absolutely edge of the seat stuff!
Fantastic tennis!

merlotgran Tue 01-Jul-14 19:04:38

Wonderful tennis but Nadal's arse, nose, shoulder, shoulder, nose, ear, nose, ear routine drives me mad!!

papaoscar Tue 01-Jul-14 19:07:55

Isn't Nadal just doing his own version of the Okey Cokey? You put your left foot in...your right foot in...

Lona Tue 01-Jul-14 19:15:10

Well played Nick, he is definitely one to watch!

whenim64 Tue 01-Jul-14 19:20:26

Blimey! What happened there? I kept thinking Rafa would retrieve it, but Kyrgios was fantastic. Well deserved win!

ffinnochio Tue 01-Jul-14 19:26:14

What a superb young tennis player Kyrgios is. Fluid, supremely fit, and a wonderful countenance to match his skill. Great match. tennis

annodomini Tue 01-Jul-14 19:27:09

What a kid! And showing such maturity and sang-froid in his interview. We haven't seen the last of him by a long chalk.

Tegan Tue 01-Jul-14 19:28:04

I felt that Nadal capitulated quite easily compared to Sharapova who has gone up dramatically in my estimation today; boy did she fight to stay in that match. And what happened to Serena as well? My one complaint of Kyrigios is that I don't want another era of constant ace hitting with no rallies sad. The Sampras years turned me against tennis for a while.

whenim64 Tue 01-Jul-14 19:28:32

I loved his cohort of Australian supporters, all enthusiastically cheering him on. He really had the crowd with him.

ffinnochio Tue 01-Jul-14 20:02:28

It was a pleasure to witness the crowd being so bipartisan. Admiration for Rafa and a recognition of a new great talent.

NanKate Tue 01-Jul-14 20:18:03

I'm gutted Nadal is out. I have to admit the Aussie did a good job.

Going to lie down in a darkened room to recover.

Soutra Tue 01-Jul-14 20:30:45

Soo is Screamapova out? Does that mean I can turn the sound on again? smile

Tegan Tue 01-Jul-14 20:40:41

Yes, she is gone, but she fought like a tiger, so much so that I forgave the screaming [never thought I'd say that].

annodomini Wed 02-Jul-14 13:04:56

Just been watching the Bouchard - Kerber match and finding it quite confusing: two blonde girls with plaits, white sun visors and similar dresses, playing quite similar tennis (though Bouchard looks like winning). Although I like the Wimbledon convention of all-white outfits, at least if they were wearing different colours it would be easier to distinguish them.

Tegan Wed 02-Jul-14 13:45:02

I was just thinking the same thing anno. Even to the point where, when one of the commentators said how refreshing it was that there was no screaming going on I almost wished that one of them WAS a screamer so I knew who was who confused. The S.O. had told me to watch out for Bouchard but this is the first time I'd seen her play. Hadn't realised Sabine was still playing till today; thought she'd been knocked out the other day [gone now though sad].

whenim64 Wed 02-Jul-14 14:05:21

I'm watching Murray-Dimitrov. It's getting interesting because Dimitrov has the advantage so far. I'm starting to get irritated by Murray's loud 'huuuuhhhh' with an upward inflection every time he serves. I think quite a few of them could use a support group to help them stop grunting and screaming! grin

Tegan Wed 02-Jul-14 15:01:39

Getting quite bad for Murray confused....

annodomini Wed 02-Jul-14 15:07:49

Getting very depressed now! Think the Djokovic - Cilic match might be less stressful. Andy's body language is looking dejected. Dimitrov is a big prospect.

annodomini Wed 02-Jul-14 15:10:46

I am going to need some chocolate soon. hmm

whenim64 Wed 02-Jul-14 15:22:59

I'm watching through my fingers now. Just when Andy looked like he was fighting back he made some errors he couldn't afford. Oh no, he's done it again!
