I saw 'Le Weekend' this week with my (newish) daughter-in-law and found myself explaining to her that I don't believe it's realistic. Cringed a bit in fact. SPOILER ALERT except perhaps for the poor husband begging for sex all the time. And as for the 'sniffing' scene
.
I thought Jim Broadbent was good, I like him as an actor, Lindsay Duncan was unconvincing. The best character in that film was Jeff Goldblum's one.
And I am tired of the "let's get down with young 'uns and smoke weed, see how edgy we still are" token scene in just too many films aimed at our age group. So boring. Smoke the stuff by all means but the way it is portrayed is just dumb. And it always has to include at least one scene where the characters laugh hysterically. Because they are stoned, you see.
