Don't fret it has not started yet!!! Saturday BBC4, a Danish/Swedish co production. According to the Radio Times it is going to be a real 'cracker'. A dead body found on a bridge between Denmark and Sweden, and a new female detective. Can't wait.

I think the chap who is offering his 'services' to Martin's wife (forgotten her name) is the one who was supposed to have blown his head off in his caravan....the photo on the glass wall to which all the arrows point, is him (or 'he' - sorry, pedants)! He will have had changes made to his features, and that's why she doesn't recognise him yet.
I watched the 2 episodes last night and watched them over again this afternoon...because there were so many things I didn't understand confused!

Jacey Sun 13-May-12 17:55:31

Have to say that it does seem as if you're correct greenmossgiel ... Sebastian's name has been in the credits from Ep1 though he has only just appeared.
Did wonder about Saga's 'boyfriend' ...what about the further twist that he's the son who's body was never found? hmm

greenmossgiel Sun 13-May-12 18:00:39

Oh...I didn't pick that bit up, Jacey...I think I was casting on a new square for my bedspread confused!

merlotgran Wed 16-May-12 15:23:33

Good point about the boyfriend, Jacey. I feel like I need one of those police moodboard thingies up on the wall. I've only just got the hang of who's who and it ends soon. As well as enjoying every moment of this gripping drama I WANT MARTIN'S HOUSE!!

Mamie Wed 16-May-12 15:58:40

I want Montelbano's house more than Martin's. Lewis back tonight with the lovely Hathaway...

Jacey Wed 16-May-12 16:04:02

merlotgran and Mamie ...perhaps we could do one of those time share things ? grin

crimson Wed 16-May-12 16:12:40

I watched part of the first episode on iplayer the other night wondering if there were two cars on the bridge each with half a body, but it looked like only one. I also realised I'd got confused about Veronika and Sonia. I've half aranged to have a meal with someone on Saturday night and am hoping they've forgotten because I'd forgotten about The Bridge. If I have to watch the repeat I'll have to shut myself away for a few days so I don't hear whodunit....

MaggieP Wed 16-May-12 18:32:29

What are we going to do after Saturday when it all ends? Ae we promised a second series? Surely they won't kill off Martin, he has another set of twins to care for!

merlotgran Wed 16-May-12 18:51:11

I'll have to steer clear of here as well*crimson*. We're going away this weekend so I'll watch it on iplayer when we get back.

fieldwake Wed 16-May-12 19:23:00

Only just found this on here. I have been gripped with them all. It has changed saturday evenings. I don't go out if I can help it. Lights out, feet up, sound up, have to concentrate because of sub titles, wonder if that is why we are enthralled as mostly I half watch things/do something else at the same time. Yes got Denmark/Sweden mixed up. Bit put off at first with young blonde and fat older man. But wow isn't she feisty. Loved Borgen too. So interesting other cultures, houses etc. escapism. I go straight to bed afterwards to savour the atmosphere and not break the spell.

Will miss them now got so to look forward to them

merlotgran Wed 16-May-12 19:31:02

I've downloaded the music....how sad is that??

Jacey Wed 16-May-12 20:08:45

merlotgran grin ...though I have to admit, I like it too!

fieldwake Wed 16-May-12 20:39:42

Ah I went to a concert and they played the Montalbano tune I got so excited

crimson Wed 16-May-12 21:13:30

I love the music; it's been in my head all day. It was the same with The Killing, and it's really clever how the music doesn't kick in till after the programme starts. I really thought that, after The Killing nothing would grip me in the same way. In some ways, with both programmes the plot is not as important as just being in 'the zone' for two hours every Saturday night [especially as I've lost track of what's going on anyway]. Pure escapism for me!

fieldwake Wed 16-May-12 22:05:06

Yes same here crimson never thought the next one would grip me the same. Just typing about it keeps it going.....

crimson Wed 16-May-12 22:14:09

Have you ever seen The Wire? I haven't watched it myself but my daughter raves about it the way I rant on about these Scandinavian series. When I was hooked on Wallander I even wanted to visit the place where it was filmed. I even watched a strange Icelandic comedy on BBC4 last year about the night shift at a petrol station [can't remember what it was called]. Hang on; was it called 'The Night Shift'? I'll have to google it now. Oh, and the film Trollhunter....

merlotgran Thu 17-May-12 13:34:42

Bridge fans....Beware of looking at iplayer. There's a spoiler on there I wish I hadn't seen.

I've been watching the American version of The Killing but the second series is very disjointed and I'm losing track of who's who. Last night's ep., was very confusing.

crimson Sat 19-May-12 13:14:03

Meal has been cancelled due to my upsetting my daughter [really don't know what I seem to have done wrong] so there's a silver lining to every cloud. Can't wait for 9 o'clock....

Jacey Sat 19-May-12 16:20:11

Yes crimson ...wine or wine wine ...phone off the hook! Sit back and enjoy smile

vegasmags Sat 19-May-12 18:56:47

I've planned my entire afternoon and evening around 9.00 tonight! I don't usually eat until 7ish, but had dinner at 6 tonight, so all cleared away and settled down ready for it to start with the gin and tonic to hand! I will think of all the other GN fans similarly enthralled so happy viewing to all. smile

greenmossgiel Sat 19-May-12 19:28:26

I'm smitten by the programme and it's music. Keeping my eye open for any other Scandinavian series that come up - (wish I'd watched Wallander)! smile

crimson Sat 19-May-12 19:53:21

They'll repeat Wallander; they always do. Annoyingly with Wallander there was one episode I recorded because it was a bit scary and I was one my own that night, and the recording didn't work; it was key to a lot of things that happened later in the series as well.

fieldwake Sat 19-May-12 20:17:32

Yes I upset my daughter, had glass of wine, tea cooking in microwave, count down to 9pm. Did you see in Radio Times due very soon is Sebastian Bergman starring first bearlike Swedish Wallander two parter. Later this year Norway Lilyhammer? Seems we may have a few spare Saturdays to find something else to do though!

Hankipanki Sat 19-May-12 20:40:07

I am loving this series too and the atmospheric music. Now must let the dog out, take the phone off the hook and pour a glass of wine. Enjoy your evening all.

SJP Sun 20-May-12 05:55:12

OMg really enjoyed this and the ending had a sad twist. Not as good as the Killing though which was brilliant. These Scandinavian series are good for mother and daughter bonding, we spend hours on the phone discussing possible plots.
