There used to be a small coterie of rugby fans on Gransnet. What has happened to us? Am I the only one left? I have enjoyed most of the matches I have seen as 'open' rugby seems to be more fashionable than the 'heave and grunt' style previously commonplace, though the Springboks may employ that tactic against Scotland today. I hope not. Come on Scotland! Oh all right - Come on England too against the Wallabies.
It was an honourable defeat. First half was neck and neck and SA had a real battle to win the 2nd help. Relieved that nobody stretchered off this time. I found that after the agony of last week a did help me to relax during the match. (I never normally drink at home.) All Blacks have found their form, it would seem. What larks.
jess that is a spot on analysis. I thought the Welsh team played brilliantly and that final SA try was one of the best - if not the best - in the tournament so far.
I was on a local train yesterday packed with Welsh and SA fans, singing and larking about. The atmosphere was brilliant.
I am trying to decide wether to go to the Irish Pub nearby to watch the Scotland match, it was great last time but a bit more wary this time ????? I can watch it on one of the French channels but I like to be in a crowd.
What a very biased against the Scots commentary. From the moment he started Jon Diamond was negative towards the Scots. Poor Scott Hastings having to sit beside him and listen to it without retaliating. And yes I am a very proud and disappointed Scots wifie.
I always feel sorry for the guys who have to endure the post match interviews. Scotland always wears its heart on its sleeve and I wouldn't have it any other way. So proud we got this far and made such a fantastic game of it.
I can't watch post-match interviews, whether rugby, tennis or whatever. They haven't had time to gather their thoughts - or even have a shower sometimes.
