Hankies out time towards the end. I also don't think I've enjoyed a programme so much for a long time. it went back through times so many of us gransnetters recall.

The Beeb at its very best. Great presenter, and when Prince William stood up...and the school children at the end, full of hope 🙂.

When he passes on it will feel like when the Queen died, both been here all our lives. Hope he has a wonderful birthday, such an exceptional man!

I dont think this was a nice way to refer to someone who is not ill but I know you meant well.

I could never compare the the absence of David with the absence of the Queen.

Thank you for such wonderful programmes.
Considering Sir David has lost two of his brothers he is doing very well to reach 100 yrs of age.

Interesting that he also had two adopted siblings (girls) who were Jewish refugees, taken in by the Attenborough family in 1939 and then adopted by them.

Amazing man. The terms "legend " and "national treasure " are often used these days, but for Sir David they are totally relevant. Happy Birthday Sir

My little great nephew is fascinated by the natural world and wrote to Sir David. He got a personally signed reply which he treasures. I gather that many other children have received similar.

Lovely man, the world needs few more like him .

Happy birthday Sir David. Have been watching his programmes since I was a mere youngster, and he was an agile and hands on young presenter bringing wildlife into our front rooms and inspiring us to care about it. I believe very many were inspired enough to make a career out of championing wildlife and our planet. He may not be as agile but he is still as involved and as inspirational as he was back then.
More than anything his voice I would know in a room full of voices. For me his voice is the soundtrack to a love of the life of all creatures and the planet we share.

I think it was Zoo Quest that first interested me nature and wild life programmes.

I remember watching David Attenborough programmes on our old black and white tv with my parents In the 1950s. What a wonderful man who has imparted so much knowledge of wild life.
