Local fox

We live close to a nature reserve for want of a better description. When I worked shifts I would often be coming home around 2am and it was lovely to see the foxes wandering around the streets. There was occasionally a vixen with two or three cubs on our garden during those times.

We have a regular visiting fox. He stares through the window at us and we stare back at him.

How lovely Riversidegirl I'd love to see a fox regularly. We have deer near us but have yet to see them.

Yes, I have a family whom I feed every evening. Every year the cubs are born, grow and leave home. The next month or so will see a new litter. I up the food whilst the vixen is feeding her cubs. They are a delight to watch. My cat is fascinated by them.

I used to feed a fox for well over a year, then it suddenly stopped coming about 14 months ago. We saw a fox on our path on Wednesday evening. It looked very healthy, with a magnificent brush. I hope it returns and eats the food I left out.

We have lots of local wildlife on our doorstep - foxes, deer, badgers, squirrels, you name it. I once looked out of the kitchen window to see no less than six deer in the garden!

You are so lucky, with your own wee wild zoos.

We have foxes, one in particular who come into our garden. We live near woods and a park and would far prefer to see them there. We can’t allow our younger grandchildren into the garden without an adult. Before we had our Easter egg hunt and other family visits someone had to clear up their mess. Just wish they could stick to a more suitable environment for them.

Our little hamlet has a fox. One of his regular routes is through our garden, but he never stops .

She gets twitchy when in the house but we have hand fed her outside. She loves salami.

What a truly beautiful animal

I caught one local fox in my bedroom eating the cat biscuits last week.

He also stole my wig and a curler? I feel so sorry for these beautiful creatures having to scavenge for food. The foxes get very well fed in my street thank goodness.

Foxes and cats respect each other and keep away. They know each could inflict serious injury on the other.

Attractive animals, but losing their fear of humans leads them into houses and remember that babies and very young children have been attacked by them in cots, prams and beds.
Usually during the daytime or early evening when doors in Summer are left open.

That’s one thing I find difficult here. People detest foxes and poison them or kill them in very cruel ways like setting ferrets and dogs on them and no one cares. Same with rabbits but not in quite such a cruel way as to tear them limb from limb. Definitely moving towards voting for the animal justice party …

I was not aware of that Basgetti. However our two are so timid they would probably run a mile or hide under the furniture.

We have a wild turkey who roams the neighbourhood,he spends time sitting on the railings on our patio.When he isn’t sitting there he chases passing cars and pecks the wheels

We have a family of foxes near us, London is full of them. Our GCs love to see them. But would not leave a door open and let one in. They are wild animals despite living in our back gardens, so best to respect their space and encourage them to respect ours.

In the UK our house backed onto woodland that was full of country foxes and we often saw one in the unadopted lane behind the house.
They never came into the garden though probably because of the dog.
Walking the dog I saw two foxes just playing chase games with each other.
On a field at the Sandy RSPB Bird Sanctuary I saw the most beautiful fox I had ever seen , a large animal with the most beautiful red coat and tail.
