I like poems with lines surprising
Like the ones with pale moon rising
Or tempestuous love themes
Seen sometimes in dreams

I like poems with lines surprising
Like the ones with pale moon rising
Or tempestuous love themes
Seen sometimes in dreams
Or maybe about circumcising
(I hope that was surprising enough for you Goldenladygrin)

I love to run around the block
Each morning after nine o’clock
I'm no early bird
Arteries are furred
So I must avoid cardio shock

Today is a worrying day
Voters are having their say
It matters not who
From bright red to true blue
So now, are you saying, "Hooray?"

Our political choices are grim
I don't like them, or her, or him
Nothing will change
They're all rather strange

Our political choices are grim
I don't like them, or her, or him
Nothing will change
They're all rather strange
Pompous, wrong headed or dim

I really don't like being old
It's the prime of life, I've been told

I really don't like being old
It's the prime of life, I've been told
Then again, I'm wise
My brain's a big size
And sex always leaves me quite cold

Frigid is the word I'd use
Headache's my usual excuse
He threatened to leave
So I gave him the heave
Not putting up with his abuse

I’ve just turned into my mother
some thoughts I would like to smother
