Oh I hadn't noticed the biscuit Kaimoana!
But have you ever noticed anyone using the chicken icon?
That's another odd one... especially given that we have so few to choose from!

🦞🦂 *What are we up to?*🦂🦞
(1001 Posts)Sorry Grammaretto - spent hours yesterday at my mother-in-law's house...
Day off today. Pizza at my daughter's
Hope other 🦞🦂 are OK
Hello Lobstars...I hope all is well with everyone.
Kaimoana, has the ear problem resolved itself yet? and any news on a suitable move. Thank you for sharing what must have been a very difficult and sad part of your life with us. My Mum was widowed young too (aged 36) and she too concentrated her life on her 2 girls and then her granddaughters. It's only now I'm older I realise just how lonely that must have been for her.
Jan I hope the birthday celebrations continue for Mr J and you ask enjoy every minute of them making lasting memories too
Doodle... We too have got a busy Holy Week, yesterday's Palm Sunday Mass was nearly an hour and a half. We were not at our usual church locally having been delayed on Saturday moving Maeve Moho. One of the readers was a an African man in traditional dress (It's a Catholic church with a lovely diverse congregation) and whilst he was reading his little daughter decided she wanted to be part of the action too and ran up onto the altar and proceeded to dance. It was very hard to concentrate and brought back memories of when I was reading at Mass and DD1 aged 18 months came flying up the aisle and put up her arms up to me for a cuddle...I just picked her up and carried on reading
Grammaretto... I hope today's removals goes well and there is some news about your move soon. When do the sealed bids have to go in?
The gyne appointment went well...no ankles together drop your knees ( I always get that the wrong way round ) Thank Goodness. Out in 5 minutes. I don't suppose I'll be that lucky when I attend wherever they are referring me to in Bristol so as Scarlett O Hara said I'll think about that tomorrow
Maeve Moho is back from having all the bits attended to that had been promised when we bought her...and is going to a secure storage facility nearby but not until today so mad us didn't the night in her at a campsite only about 6 miles away from where we live. It was Libby to be back in her but we were slightly on a slope ( not there long enough to level her properly) so neither of us slept to well so much so that we were back home by 8am (7am if you take into account the clocks going forward). We all...DH , me and the 3 'children' promptly fell into bed and slept for 2 hours.
It seemed like a good idea at the time
😂😂😂😂😂
You were like excited children NN!
In the Moho.
Well my prospective buyer called off sick for her second visit but they'll come another time.
There aren't sealed bids as it's a fixed price so I have now instructed my solicitor to bid the asking price subject to sale of this.
There's now a third interested party in this house so it could just happen 🤞
Talking of funny things they do and say, little sister had the job of bringing home all big sisters get well cards from school.
She was none too happy that so much fuss was being made of the invalid. She delivered the cards with a flourish saying "Everyone wrote one, even the ones who didn't want to, they were made to"!
NN our Palm Sunday wasn’t as exciting as yours although the younger congregation members were very excited at the arrival of the “donkey” (large replica stuffed one)
Nice service though.
When you said Maeve was on a slope I had visions of you all sliding out of bed. We once booked into a hotel with a very sloping floor and when we put the suitcases down they slid from one side to the other, I also had a similar experience when on a cruise with Dh during The Beast from the East storm a few years ago. On the downward tilt I slid to the bottom of the bed. DH who slept through it was sceptical until other folk at breakfast said the same.
Grammaretto if it all goes through for you is the new place somewhere close to the village and do you think it’s somewhere you could be happy?
When DH and I first saw our flat we knew straight away is would be a lovely home for us and it is.
kaimoana I too find the icons odd. If they’ve got a chicken one then you’d have thought they would be required to have a vegetarian and vegan option to comply with today’s requirements. 🤣
Met a friend for coffee in Costa this morning and who should come in shortly after but DS2 . His car was in being services so h was having a coffee and doing some work while he waited. Lovely to see him
It's the Cornish pasty ? icon which intrigues me.
It always reminds me of a knuckle duster. Or toes.
🥟🥟🥟
I thought those were Mezzelune, ixion
Another funny one!
The biscuit one and the chicken are actually Gransnet's own though.. which is very odd given that they only offer us about two dozen in the first place.
"Kaimoana, has the ear problem resolved itself yet? and any news on a suitable move"
No to the first and because I have been feeling so awful, I haven't bothered to follow up on any move.
I think I'll just stay put. When you are well and lively, a move seems possible but not at the moment. No one will force me out.
Ha! Breaking news. My doctor has just emailed me to say she has very reluctantly (because she hasn't examined me) sent a script for antibiotics to the nearest pharmacy some 4km away.
I shall have to wait for the next support worker (2 days away) before I can get the medication.
Progress is so slow Kaimoana
I hope you get some help soon.
A funny thing about help. It's never there when most needed. I was crawling about on the floor on Sunday pushing boxes of books out of the way of the bookcase, which finally left yesterday. The cavalry arrived in the form of 2 potters and one Australian helper in time to empty the bookcase and move furniture into better positions.
I'm waiting to see what happens about my house offer.
April fools day tomorrow so what if I hear then. 😂
Oh Kaimoana. Having to wait 2 days for antibiotics is not good. Have you got a painful ear? Sorry Ive not been keeping up as I should do. My daughter who is 56 - how did she get to be that old?! - has also been to the Dr today with a very painful ear and was told she had a severe ear infection and has to go back in a week but of course she came home with the antibiotics. We don’t appreciate how easy it is for us to get our pills. Really hope you get yours very soon. Earache is so painful. x
Poor Kaimoana, what a dreadful wait - I actually think earache is possibly the worst sort of pain. I hope your prescription comes pdq.
I hadn't realised that you had put an offer in on a house, Grammaretto. Is it the fixer-upper? Wishing you well.
Hoping Doodle and all the 🦞Gang are OK and prepared for Easter if you have nice things planned 🐣.
Kaimoana I’m so sorry about your painful ear and hope the antibiotics arrive soon. I do wish you’d consider more the move if you could get somewhere where more help was available and you got a quicker response from the doctors. Could your son not help you find somewhere ?
Grammaretto so pleased you got some help too. Could you not enlist some family to come and help you. I know it’s not easy when they don’t live close by. I am so grateful our sons are 10 mins away. I try not to bother them too much but I know I can call on them if need be.
ixion a lot of church activity naturally. Tomorrow night I will be at church from 8 till late keeping vigil. Hand and foot washing. It a service I really love. The peacefulness and quietness of a small group of us keeping watch . I will be tired though
I do hope the earache has gone Kaimoana
I hope your DD is recovering well too. Jan
The house stuff is taking over my life too much. I have not heard anything after putting in an offer for the do-er upper.
More people viewed my house today and I have been going about with a duster in my pocket.
My car is in the garage having its MOT so I can't do any trips to the tip.
The petrol station has run out of fuel so I may have to have a bonfire 🔥
You are very lucky having family so close and supportive.
Doodle.
My DGD who will be 16 at the weekend, has just taken her grade 8 saxophone exam and got 96%.
I'm taking her out for a wee treat next week.
I shall host Quaker Meeting on Easter Sunday. It will be strange with most of the furniture gone from the room.
At least the windows have had their annual wash 😅
Grammaretto yes i réalise i am very lucky to have both sons and their families close by. When I broke my wrist the second time DS2 was with me within 5 minutes picked me up and we were off to the hospital. They are both great.
Have a lovely time with your DGD. House moving is always a difficult time. Hope it all works out for you.
I’m off to church now for our evening service stations of the Cross. Hope everyone is ok and your ear is better Kaimoana
From nowhere I'm beyond sad... Just a beautiful picture 12 years ago of HS6...came up on my time hop. It was a beautiful day and the picture of him is just gorgeous. I maybe fool myself that I accept how life is without my children and grandchildren and this happens... I'm a bit lost tonight.

❤️
NN so sorry 😔
You are much loved 😍
Oh Kaimoana that’s just perfect. We could all do with a big hug.
Nn I’m so sorry. Such a sad situation. Wish things were different for you.
Thank you ...you are such a kind group of ladies. It just came from nowhere. I've given myself a kick up the btm and hidden the ravages with make up. I've managed to catch the dreaded cough lurgy that's doing the rounds...no snuffly nose just all of a sudden a chesty cough and breathless.. Luckily we had decided not to go to Wales this weekend....and with Storm Dave about to descend it feels like a really good decision. I'm not sure what we'll be doing instead... What are you all doing?
I hope things are looking up again today NN apart from the cold I mean.
I was on a walk with the. U3A today. It turned out quite warm after frost first thing.
We walked over 6 miles or 25,000 steps. A long way whatever.
The ladies collected their pots and the 2nd house viewers came back for another look bringing partner.
I'm in bed already.
Night night Lobstars.
Goodnight all - especially the especially weary Grammaretto!
I have also been showing someone around my mother-in-law's house.
They were a lovely couple.
We're with me an hour and a half and want to come back with a builder.
The most important thing to me was that they were nice.
Grammaretto that’s good news about the viewing. Glad you had a walk. I was out with our walking group this morning then went to church for a very emotional and lovely service.
Notspaghetti. That’s good. Don’t like rude viewers. You get them sometimes.
NN I hope you’re not feeling too poorly. Be kind to yourself you have a lot to cope with. Hope you feel better soon
Hello Lobstars.
I heard from the 3rd house viewers that this wasn't suitable. Not heard from the 2nd lot since their 2nd viewing.
Meanwhile I bought a car yesterday. Mine failed its MOT and though I constantly boast about my free bus journeys. I still need a car occasionally to places with no buses like DD's and now to take things to the tip .
It's a 10yr old baby Fiat - cinquecento. I'll get it on Tuesday.
Your viewers sound very positive
NotSpag 😊
Had my friend round to dinner last night and my recently bereaved neighbour too.
He commented afterwards how well she was doing. Hmm. We get good at showing a brave face, don't we Doodle
Hoping all our brave Lobstars have something nice to this weekend.
Yes they do Grammaretto but it's an easy sale because it's in great condition in a fabulous spot and unbelievably spacious and tidy with no surplus stuff!
If only mine were like that we would probably have sold ours and moved in!
Would that my house was in such condition NotSpaghetti 😔
DGD, who's had the appendix operation, chose to come to mine today and so avoided a wet and stormy day of an organised Easter egg hunt with younger sister and small cousins. She's delightful company. Growing up fast.
I'm tired now!
She made several pots, glazed others, made and iced cupcakes for tomorrow - her birthday, and even sowed and watered several packets of seeds.
So I am worn out.
The weather had turned nasty now.
I shall make a simple supper and collapse in a heap. ,😂
