Good morning from Bristol. Apart from dry pavements, I don’t know what it’s like out. We certainly haven’t had the promised bucketing rain. Just drizzle and that for short periods only.
Like blue, I too have contacted bellaswho is not very well and taking a short sabbatical.
This week, I have felt increasingly out of sorts but battling on. Yesterday, I felt so rubbish that, after finishing my chores, etc., I retired toned and slept for over an hour before lunch.
I decided to do nothing after I’d eaten so spent the afternoon dozing, reading and watching tv. Bt evening, I was feeling much better.
I’ve nothing on today, other than the church coffee & chat, so may/not go. I haven’t had a chat with anyone for ages, so may go just for that!
I hope you have a good weekend. Carpediem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.

Flu jabs this morning followed by physio.

Good idea to go for the chat grandMattie then another restful afternoon?Hoping Bellas is feeling better very soon.

Like Ash and olddudders I am hoping to get a couple more hours of sleep.

Wishing everyone a good day 🦩🌻

Good morning from a clear Herefordshire. I'm packed and ready to drive to mid-Wales to spend a week or so with a relative convalescing after her operation. Her house is in the middle of nowhere so it is very peaceful and very near a church so we will probably visit there every day, taking a stroll around the grounds.
Wishing all a happy weekend.

Good morning from s somerset, rain is forecast but where is it?

It is hard to pin down what I did yesterday, potching is the word, walked to the shops twice, did a first toile of a very different pattern designer but a very rubbish fabric, a jersey that felt horrible. Anyway I did the v neck to see if I liked it and yes that result was good, sleeve was good and the top length was too short. That trial has been binned and I have cut out the second attempt. Heyho, that is what I always need to do especially with a designer new to me and me being about 4`10

That pattern is sweet cheeks by pattern emporium and I am determined to crack it, that pattern has very many nice variations

So today I will be sorting in my sewing room, de-cluttering patterns, including cut-outs that I will never sew now and that includes some dresses with too defined a waist, alas my figure does not have a defined waist now. It is going to be an interesting and I hope, a satisfying exercise for me with no regrets over my changed figure, it is what it is

My fabric arrived in 2 days from pound fabrics so I can get on and make lots more bias binding today, their cotton lawn in lovely. I am also in process of prep for winter, making up kits for me to make over winter, cutting the fabric out now then packing into large zip lock bags as projects

I still need to think of food for today and will knit and watch another Bramwell episode this afternoon and perhaps get to my allotment with 2 more rain-catcher bins

I am spitting feathers as I just was about to post my missive and the wretched thing disappeared into thin air.!! I am going to have to go off to get things and hop when I get back I might manage to find it somehow in drafts or whatever, not a good start to my morning

Good morning from Sheffield
The hospital rang yesterday afternoon and offered hubby next Wednesday for the first carpel tunnel surgery.
He accepted of course. This means that I will have to work full time until he is able to go back to work. I’m not looking forward to this but needs must. We can’t get anytime to fill in so it’s down to me. I’m just worried about being tired. But also I don’t want him to do too much too soon.
He wants to take a taxi to the hospital but I have insisted that I will go with him and close for the day, unheard of but that’s what’s happening.
So this weekend I need to catch up on jobs so that they are out of the way.
I know other people struggle too and that my situation is hopefully only temporary. And this too shall pass.
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a dry clear N Surrey. A busy day with a lot of walking yesterday so I thought I would sleep very well. Sadly not. Hopefully I will tonight.

A Harvest lunch today and then a quiet afternoon. Maybe a nap.
A good day to all.

HelterSkelter1 Sat 10-Oct-26 06:40:50

Best wishes to Bellasnanna.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dark and 10 degrees at the moment. Brrr!

It rained on and off yesterday so I drove to school - first time for ages. I missed the walk which usually breaks up an otherwise sedentary day. DS rang for a chat in the evening. He has a big family wedding to attend today. One of his step sons is getting married at a local (to them) stately home. I hope the sun shines for them all.

I have a small food shop to do today and then DD and SiL are coming round later for a fish and chip supper. As none of us eat fish and chips very often, it will be a treat! I must also get on with making this year’s sloe gin, so will fish out the Kilner jars I use and sterilise them. I have about half a bottle of last year’s left. I usually drink it as a liqueur but found recently that if you put a dash of tonic with it, it gives it a whole new dimension.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning, it’s dry here at the moment in south Glos, I’m hoping it stays that way so I can get the bedding and towels washed and dried on the line. I do try to avoid using the tumble dryer whenever possible.
I had a lovely morning at art yesterday, I’m going to my friend’s this morning to have a second go at getting one technique right. I had a frustrating afternoon falling miserably!
I popped to the village for our prescriptions early yesterday morning, it was very quiet in the surgery, and we had our flu jabs yesterday afternoon in the next village. No Covid jab for me but DH had his.
I have some bare root wallflowers to plant today, my mulch delivery comes Monday then once I’ve put that on the borders that’s the garden done 😁 so that’s my plan for next week!
I really need to tidy my ‘craft’ room, it’s in a muddle, perhaps I’ll start later on today. I could give anything I don’t want to the school, they’re always grateful for donations for the craft activities.
I hope Bellasnana feels better soon, sending a hug x
Best wishes to all 🌹

Good morning from Stockport.
9 degrees and raining, the heating comes on twice a day now but I have the thermostat quite low at present , just enough to feel comfortable.
I got a good chunk of the laundry done yesterday but the tumble drier came into its own.

I have nothing planned for today which is how I like it, life is gradually contracting and somehow it feels right.
Enjoy your day however you wish.

Grandmabatty Sat 10-Oct-26 07:28:30

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and damp out, if not actually raining. Bellasnana I hope you feel better soon. GrandMattie definitely go for a chat.
Yesterday I pottered about the house. I made egg and veg muffins for breakfast which turned out well- see photo. I am eating a low carb diet to try and bring down my blood sugar levels. I stripped the bed and washed and dried it. I did a lot of reading.
Today I'm having dgs2 for a sleepover. He is apparently very excited. I have a variety of food for him. Shortly I will nip to Aldi for lentils and leeks to make his favourite soup. He is getter better at entertaining himself but will want an audience too. If I get a chance, I will watch Strictly. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 10-Oct-26 07:36:24

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It’s damp but warm weather is forecast for next week!

I collected younger son from the station yesterday. He was in good spirits and regaled us with stories of his life as a Civil Servant in Westminster.

While OH watches football we will drive to the area where the Mitford sisters grew up. It’s only about half an hour’s drive.

Son will make his wonderful fish pie for dinner - pudding will be one of my ice creams.

Best wishes to B. She mentioned the other day how she wasn’t feeling too good.

Have a good day.

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

Look after yourself Bellasnana.

We were late back from our ‘childminding’ last night although it should be called ‘grandparent minding’ as the children took great care of us, making drinks and bringing us treats.

I don’t have plans for today so will just see how it evolves.

Have a good day everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 10-Oct-26 07:37:20

Morning from 9 and partial cloud in S Hants, I’m sorry Bellas isn’t very well. Hopefully a swift recovery.
My mouth is slowly recovering and I’m at least sleeping fine now.
Yesterday it rained again and the garden is looking so much better than a month or so ago. The asters and buddleia keep going, plenty of happy bees.
Tesco delivered everything ordered.
Not sure today, think my son may call in and there’s washing to do.
Enjoy your day

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry and sunny but feels cool. The heating came on this morning but hasn’t yet come on later in the day.
Yesterday I felt quite tired with a very stiff arm after the Covid jab on Thursday. Managed to get a dentist appointment and have a temporary dressing on my broken tooth. My next check up appointment has been brought forward to early November.
I hope to be able to do some gardening today, I still have some bulbs to put in.

I hope bellanana will feel better soon.

GillyMo safe travels to mid Wales and enjoy the peace and quiet with your relative.

madeleine I hope your missing post turns up somewhere! Computers can be so frustrating!

Thoughts as ever are with those who are unwell.

Safe travels to anyone on the move today.

Have as good a day as is possible everyone.

Marzipan22 Sat 10-Oct-26 07:45:14

Good morning from Cornwall where another sunny day is ahead but oh joy it rained for most of yesterday and I wandered around enjoying the lovely balmy light showers.

During the morning I had an unexpected phone call while I was halfway across a beach to invite me for an xray at our cottage hospital after lunch. My doctor is trying to find out why I'm breathless. So I rejigged my plans and went there, after which I was on a search for a humane mousetrap. B&Q had one plus several plants that I was enticed by, pic of one attached which is called something or other Skyline.

I was going to trundle on to see my daughter-in-law but she and my eldest grandson have covid so I daren't go near them, sadly.

Today I'll potter on my beloved patio and work on my half floral jeans and will no doubt be tempted at some point towards the coast.

latedecember1963 Sat 10-Oct-26 07:47:44

Good morning everyone from a getting light Lancashire.

Thank you for the update on Bellasnana and, like others, I'm sending get well wishes.

I'd go out for the chat, GrandMattie, but make it clear you're not there to don your rubber gloves.

I enjoyed seeing my old colleagues for tea yesterday.
We were laughing at how our chat has evolved over the years. From talk about work, teenage children, children heading off to uni, planning weddings, the arrival of grandchildren, planning retirement, caring for increasingly frail relatives, niggles with our own health beginning to rear their ugly heads. One of the grandchildren has just started Royal Navy training; it doesn't seem 2 minutes since we were hearing tales about him starting school!

I hope your DH's surgery goes to plan next Wednesday, Melanie. One of the ladies I was out with yesterday has had both wrists done and has had good results once the recovery period was over.

This morning DH will take the little chap supermarket shopping so I'm going to have a break with some knitting.
This afternoon I'm taking him for a haircut so that will give DH a bit of space.
We'll watch Strictly this evening. We're liking the new presenters and slightly tweaked format.

Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where intermittent showers and 13°C is forecast.

I’m minding L’il Miss here at 10am just for a couple of hours while her mum meets a friend for coffee and cake. My son in law often works overtime (construction worker) on Saturday mornings.

This afternoon I need to pack for my trip to a cottage In Northumberland tomorrow . My cousin is picking me up, he’s the same age as me, lost his wife to cancer ten years ago and met his new partner at a Christie fund raiser as she’d lost her husband to cancer six years earlier. They live together but split time between his house in Wilmslow and hers in Hexham. They have fabulous exotic holidays together and an enviable sybaritic lifestyle. 😁

Strictly tonight at my neighbours. My turn to do supper. It’ll be easio (#lazygran) pasta bows, frankfurter sausages and a jar of arrabiatta sauce. Tasty though!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 10-Oct-26 07:51:48

Good morning from a blue skied sun S E Essex, the sun is shining and it’s 10° with a high of 19° predicted.

Not a lot happening today, will pop into a couple of local shops for fresh bread and milk, then I will try and finish my book. Couldn’t read yesterday as the headache would not shift, took a migraine tablet at bedtime, slept through and so far so good.

Bellasnana 👋

Wishing you all a peaceful weekend 🙋‍♀️

brook2704 Sat 10-Oct-26 07:55:28

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks wet outside and we’ve grey clouds
I hope Bellas is feeling much better soon and back with us
This morning I’ve the washing to sort out and a bit of cleaning, then I’ll be out all afternoon at a line dancing social event - it’s at a local village hall nearby, no live music this time but lots of friendly ladies going. We all bring something to share for the tables, there will be all our favourite dances and lots of chatter
Enjoy the sleepover grandmabatty, special times
Hope everyone has the best day they can, take care all 💐

Good morning from a fairly bright N.Bucks.
We are almost ready to set off for Devon to visit our friends for a few days. Hoping for an easy journey.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

harrigran Sat 10-Oct-26 08:00:44

Good morning from the NE where it is 8° and a forecast of 12° but no rain.
Got a lot of laundry done yesterday and managed to get it all ironed too.
Today DS and GD2 will visit, she has to do her homework while she is here but we chat during dinner.
We will have the usual musical evening, GD will play the piano for about an hour and she will also play the violin.

My younger sister and her DH are off on holiday today, it is her 70th birthday next week. We will celebrate when she returns next Saturday.
Have a good weekend.
