In Germany the price of petrol fluctuates continuously. Because petrol stations changed the prices several times a day a law was recently introduced limiting it to decreases only until 12 noon and at 12 they are allowed one increase.

It's half past one here now and according to the petrol price app on my phone, 95 octane is €2.279 a litre at the moment. Last week a fuel subsidy was introduced which means that prices are about 20 cents lower than they were last month.

Diesel is €2.319, although traditionally diesel was always 5-10 cents cheaper than petrol.

I've just reverted the app to 95 octane and in those couple of minutes, it's gone down to €2.239.

We’re in a coastal town in the south west Here prices currently vary between £1.78 (Sainsbury) and £1.76 (the rest of the supermarkets) a litre for petrol. Thankfully our hybrid car is very economical for local trips.

Interesting,
We have a new plug in hybrid. We charge at home using a domestic plug. When charged to 90% the range is 63 miles (101km)
Although hybrid we don’t use any petrol unless we are travelling on holiday.
63 miles is enough for a local day out and shopping.

Just came back from Brittany where the Diesel is the same number price as here - but in Euros. We paid E 2.00 there per litre and here in this part of Buckinghamshire it’s £2.00 a litre. So that makes Diesel slightly cheaper in France.

Total offered a price limit on Diesel and promptly sold out so their pumps were dry, a nice reminder of what price fixing does.
