Good morning. I’m up a bit later today after two busy days.
Yesterday the two boys enjoyed painting and were good as gold.
Our WI party was a great success. Most of the ladies were in dresses and hats and we enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. We had decorated the hall and gathered club memorabilia. The old minute books made interesting reading. A brilliant speaker kept us entertained and laughing.
I was very relieved to get the cake I made down to the venue in one piece!
Hope all went well with outings yesterday and good to see pictures of handiwork.
A quieter day today after some housework I’m hoping to finish off a painting.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning from a cloudy Suffolk with more of the same for the rest of the day.

It is DGD2’s birthday today and she is spending the day with school friends before they all go off to universities all over the country. Other DGC are back to school at different times but all there by Monday. Really does feel like autumn now.

I’m off to my stretch class soon and then a quiet rest of the day tackling a pile of ironing. Very talented sewing on display here today.

I feel for you, my mouth isn't healing after my procedure last week, it is so painful, I cannot put in the plate. I think I may have to contact the dentist.
I am not eating, but why am I not losing weight?????

The P.P is coming to visit today. I should have met him in the presbytery, about a serious safeguarding issue, which needs resolved before the weekend, , but I have been struggling with health issues.
I hadn't said anything, but he kindly offered to come to me
I was speaking to friend yesterday, who was a scary GP, she gave me a talking too, said I need to slow down.
I don't think I can go any slower! 😉 It is so frustrating, to say the least

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
The new front porch was finished yesterday after heavy rain. The men are coming back to patch up a bit of skirting board inside, but apart from that, that’s it. It’s strange to me at the moment, but I’ll get used to it. The old one was wood and had deteriorated so much, but was the original wooden porch.

I’ll carry on practising new songs today and thinking towards the family holiday in Greece next week.

It’s a nice easy relaxing day today, I might potter in the garden or go out for a coffee but nothing too strenuous. DH is off to the Men’s Shed group so I’ll have an empty this morning

Good morning Michael and all GN's on a greyish morning which doesnt seem to have decided whether to rain or brighten to sunshine. No doubt as I have much washing to get dry it will rain!! I am going to post to you in bits today, in the hopes that the wretched thing gets through. Have already had a bad start to the morning as the milk has gone off and I cant have any cereal. Normally I would dash off to get some straightaway, but I am really struggling to move about at the moment.

Do you know that saying "Take what you want - and pay for it" ? Well that is very true for me today. I knew the cost but will just have to grit my teeth and keep going. The show was worth every bit of the cost! I am of course, reaffirmed in my knowledge that Muker show is the best one there is, and, for me, worth every bit of effort and whatever it costs me. So it was yesterday despite a lot of rain, and sadly , finding out the hard way that probably that is the last time I can manage to go independantly. More of it all later.

First I would like to thank you all for your kind words and support and thinking of me. It means a great deal to me to feel I have all your friendship and interest. I always miss my dear husband, but on Muker show day, I always think of how we went together and all he did for me when my back was bad. Over the years of taking plants and flowers for the classes, the home made cakes, his wonderful prize winning photographs ,the music for the singing and the car would always of course be stacked with clothes to suit all weathers, so from sundress and hat through to thick trousers and walking boots we had the lot. As we say round here "short of nowt we've got!" Despite weather and illness and anything else thrown at us, Muker show day was a pinnacle in our year, and whatever was going on in our lives at the time, it was the day which reaffirmed our love for each other, and our belonging and our friendships over the years. Every time I go there without him now, it is that seesaw of emotion, missing him each time, but bringing back the memories of past times. It is also lovely that I know so many people who come there, from everything like hospital car, the choir, joining in all the classes etc., and there are still those who remember Brian, and that is a lovely feeling , that he is still part of it all.

But unfortunately, however much I carefully dont look at things that dont fit in with my view of myself, each year I squash down the knowledge of how much harder it is, getting myself there and the difficulty of getting all the bits and pieces onto the field etc. I could not possibly sit on the ground now - they would need the firebrigade to get me up again, but having to take chair,mac, food, binoculars and all the many things I need for the day is some task even from the disabled car park. Added to which the nearest car park for disabled then slopes down to the show field. Fine when you arrive but oh the struggle to go back uphill with things at the end!! I try to be totally selfsufficient and spend time working out ways I can get round problems and work out how I can manage (like the little red hen!) . To have to ask for help is not my way, and if it takes me three journeys moving things a bit at a time then I will. Ah but I think yesterday someone had levered the field up to a harder slope. I was soaking wet, in a lot of pain, and could only manage a few steps at a time. Thought it was going to take me some time to g et back to the car. But bless them two kind men came over. The first man said give me those bags and your chair, and where are you parked. I thanked him for his kind offer of help and suggested that he might like to walk at his own pace and just leave things by the car.

As he set set off striding quite quickly, I was left with two other bags. The thing I cannot work out is liquids, which always weigh so heavily. and the "liquid"rain had already soaked me to the point where clothes seem to be sticking to me. Another man came over and said give me those love, and followed the first man, for which I have to say I was truly grateful, but also really annoyed that I couldnt "do it myself".

It rather sunk in that , whilst I intend to come every year until I die, this was going to be my last time as a driver. Fine to still drive anywhere = as I intend to , but that bit between the car park and the destination just about defeats me. My big yellow peril wont of course go in a car, and the new little one is ok for shopping malls etc but the springing wont work at all on bumpy fields. Ah well I think I shall have to go back to the old ways. I can drive myself there, and then have a lovely dales pony saddled up to go round the field on!!

Right part one over, and I am now going to attempt to creak into my shower, then get dressed and off for some milk, whilst the washer gets going. Part 2 later and I shall catch up with some of the posts.

Now to hold my breath and hope the wretched thing goes online ok. If not there will be some very short, anglo saxon words being spoken, if the lap top doesnt get hurled through the window. A dieu GNs for now!

Good morning from a breezy Morecambe Bay.
SDog was returned safely yesterday although he was a little wet and covered in sand, as we had stopped on the way to give the dogs a run in the dunes.
I slept well last night and I’ve only woken up as DH put a cup of tea next to me. I’m not sure how I slept through as the workmen are particularly noisy next door but one. I think there’s a skip delivery. I will be glad when this construction is finished as it’s quite an eye sore I’m getting worse as planks of wood, insulation and household rubbish are accumulating. Our lovely next door neighbour called yesterday to give us a “heads up”. I feared he was going to say they had had enough and were moving. But no they are very much staying, but to politely tell us they are having an office pod erected but it will be against our adjoining fence. No problem!
DH has just come up to tell me the racket was a tipper truck delivering several tons of topsoil to the building site. Why at this stage??
I must get up. DH is taking CDog to the woods giving me a chance to clean and tidy up as we guests coming at lunchtime. A table is reserved at the pub restaurant in the village.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle but rain due later I believe!
I've just been for a short walk in the park before returning to a bit of bathroom cleaning and a Tesco delivery. Gardening this afternoon may happen if the rain holds off long enough.

Yesterday morning was largely spent at the garden centre, getting my free coffee and then browsing the plants. I bought more tulip bulbs and two small shrubs that will fill gaps. That should be it until the spring.

glammagran, how horrible for you! I hope those antibiotics kick in today. Tooth pain is a truly depressing thing to have.

Good morning don't usually post but often read, just want to say madeleine love reading your posts and looked up the Muker show day glad you managed to get there with all your memories of times you went with your dear husband.

Good morning everyone from a very overcast cloudy Northampton. Forecast is for a warm day, though, 24°C, so I have the towels in the washing machine.

Yesterday was equally dull, so had a busy morning indoors, damp dusted the bedrooms and cleaned the inside bedroom windows. After lunch decided I would try to do a mile walk each day (as a neighbour is doing), actually did nearly 1 and a half miles.

Sainsbury's delivery late morning, then after lunch a visit from a plumber to see if he can fix the en-suite loo. Must clean the bathroom this morning!

Sorry to hear of your tooth pain Glammagran and hope you get some relief soon.

Good morning from s somerset, it feels autumnal here, the sun will be out after lunch

My dress is finished and I am more than pleased, This one is viscose twill, perfect for autumn and I am going to make another in viscose twill. I have ordered the fabric and a longer zip, I was surprised but I can do up my own back zip.

It was an easy day yesterday and I think it will be similar today, no big adventures, just a walk and crafts at home

It’s getting brighter, but windy.

Thank you so much for your comments after my car accident - I’m fine, which is the main thing. The AA (insurance) was outstanding yesterday and my car was uplifted and whisked off to a local bodyshop and today, a little automatic Audi will be delivered until mine is ready. Not a word from the guilty party.

Obviously I have no plans until I get the car, then I hope to meet my poorly friend, who at last, is feeling a little better.

Anyone who has dental issues has my sympathies - I always say if God was a woman, we’d have had beaks!

Good morning all.

Glammagran you sound exactly the same as my Dh.
He woke up with a very swollen face yesterday and terrible pain in his mouth.
After trying the doctor and his regular dentist with no help whatsoever, I phoned the private dentist who visited last week. What a wonderful lady. She prescribed antibiotics over the phone and our dear friend picked them up for us. This is over a 30 mile drive away, but he said he was in that area and insisted on going. What a hero. 🙏. So lucky to have such lovely friends and family. What did we do to deserve them! 🤔

I’ve just been up to give him said tablets, and he’s gone back to bed. .

Dd was so helpful yesterday making phone calls and going shopping for us. She’s lovely to have around in times of stress .
DGD went off to school and had a wonderful first day.

Nothing on today thank goodness, just nursing duty. 🧑‍⚕️.
