The Antarctic! We are past going to South America and getting on ships, too far for us now but I would have loved to see all the ice and wildlife and that other world we know nothing about.
There are other places, too. I have never been to Canada, I would love to see a wild bear. Where would you like to go ?

The Holy Land. Until the region becomes a lot safer, l think it would be madness to attempt to visit it.

Argentina and Hong Kong.

I yearned from a young age to go to Australia, so much so that I begged my parents to emigrate, they refused! Fast forward many years and I then tried to get my husband to emigrate, again it was a firm no. It's the one thing in life I regret not being able to do, anyone know a millionaire who would like to buy me a first class return plane ticket?

St Petersberg. But I heard they're not good with gluten free food. And now i wouldn't go to Russia on principle.

The Galapagos Islands, definitely. As some of you may know, I'm a tortoise-lover and I would just love to see the giant tortoises on the island. I would also be fascinated to see where Darwin developed his groundbreaking theory of evolution.

Sadly I don't think that will be possible now, as it's not really a traditional tourist destination (quite rightly) and I'm not sure I could cope with the journey.

Failing that, I would have loved to visit Madagascar for its unique flora and fauna. A huge proportion of its wild-life inhabitants are found nowhere else in the world - incredible!

Never had the means to go when I was younger so missed out on a lot and now just don't think I'd be fit enough for foreign travel, but...Would have liked to have seen some Parts of Italy including Rome and Venice. I would have loved to have experienced India, Australia, and parts of America. I would have liked to have seen New York just once. I would liked to have seen Vietnam and China. I suppose you should never say never but to be honest I panic if I have to go out of my comfort zone within the UK now ! It's quite sad and poignant really thinking of where you would have loved to have gone. When I was young, I always thought one day I'd have the chance, but time has a habit of going rather quickly doesn't it ?!!

Sicily I think. That was the trip we were planning when Covid closed down life. Runners up then were Trieste and Cadiz. Only airport phobia and DH’s frailty that prevents us from doing these now.

My DiL is part Lebanese but has never been there. I think this is rather sad but the political situation has never been condusive.
Likewise my DM was born in Burma (Myanmar) but I have never been despite having many relatives buried there and growing up hearing all the stories of her childhood.

So yes I would have liked to go but doubt I will now.

DH and I always talked about Canada, the Rocky Mountaineer, followed by a whale watching cruise. Sadly, it wasn’t to be, but it seems I’ve been to some of the places other posters would like to visit.

After reading Dervla Murphy’s travel books years ago I particularly wanted to go to Afghanistan and see the apricot trees, I do not think it would be possible or wise today! Not that I am now not fit enough to undertake such a journey. I have never been to Asia, our nomadic life did not venture in that direction.
These days I would be happy to take a trip,on Eurostar if I could get OH to leave his armchair!

I sort of fancy New Zealand but it’s just so far . Never seen the Caribbean but hoping to do a cruise in 2027. I was lucky enough to visit Israel in 1979 and had an amazing holiday . My brother worked in Uzbekistan and I spent some time there just after the break up of the Soviet Union. My father, who I never met, was from India and I planned to visit there but had to cancel twice due to DP’s illness. No longer with DP so hopefully I will get there . I want to have afternoon tea at Wildflower Hall overlooking the Himalayas.
