I paid £3 for six organic eggs in M&S today. I am excitedly awaiting responses to my post.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 02-Jun-26 21:27:02

On Mumsnet Galaxy? Now that surprises me I thought it was like the Wild West in that forum! A bronchi ride whilst clinging into the steer’s mane at the very least.

Mine’s a G&T 😁
Thanks very much for your kind comment!

I disagree FGT ( and see how comfortable I am in saying that to FGT because whilst we disagree on some issues, she is completely sane and someone I would want to have a drink with) I have seen very similar happen to a poster on MN.

I agree, especially about having a drink with 😄. And what's more I've seen some very borderline offensive posts on here to FGT who never reacts with anything but politeness and kindness.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 02-Jun-26 21:29:09

Ooh SueDonim that so interesting. I’m eager to know whether they were large or standard size it makes a big difference when at the till with my bit of pension you understand.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 02-Jun-26 21:29:41

I’m blushing now ladies … 😁

There’s a PM for you.

It was a while ago now on MN, ironically one of the reasons ( and age 😃) why I migrated here. It was a really well respected feminist poster who stood up to the gender nonsense. She was targeted quite specifically in my view.

The issue is that those of us who try not to report are benefitting the posters who do report. It is worth thinking about.

Yes, exactly. And I will be very sorry to see Allira go - I genuinely do not believe justice has been served here.

SueDonim Tue 02-Jun-26 21:41:23

Medium size, FGT. I didn’t stump up the extra 30p for large eggs. They’re nice brown ones. I checked inside the box for breakages before purchase, as you’d expect.

cornergran Tue 02-Jun-26 21:42:28

A sad day allira. Wishing you well.

MaizieD Tue 02-Jun-26 21:46:05

I missed the end of the last thread. I am astounded by the result.

I don't post on many other forums apart from N & P and I have never seen Allira do any of the things on that forum that she has been banned for (I was also mystified by the loss of Callistemon).

I'm so sorry, Allira.

I still hope that the mods will reconsider...

Doodledog Tue 02-Jun-26 21:49:15

I'm just catching up with all of this.

Thank you Annie for your explanation. It is helpful to know the reasons behind the decision, and I am grateful that you have taken the time to post, particularly as you will have known that it would attract comment.

It seems, then, that either there was no 'Poster X' who reported one incident, or there have been numerous reports over a period of time, and one was a final straw.

As I keep saying, I don't know what happened, but I have seen on another board (where I was admin) that sometimes things can simmer under the surface that are not visible to most people who are not involved. It is only when your attention is drawn to it, and you go through a backlog of posts that it becomes obvious that it is going on. That doesn't make it less hurtful or difficult for the person on the receiving end, though, and that hurt can be worse if others refuse to believe it was happening, and/or blame her for complaining.

In the past, when people have been banned on here and the banning is followed by a chorus of 'I can't believe it - I never saw the banned poster say anything personal' I wonder if I am in a parallel universe, as I have seen a lot of it. I'm sure I miss a lot on threads that don't interest me, too. Nobody is on all threads every day - we all have other things to do - so we can't see everything that goes on, and have a full picture.

Anyway, I, too, will miss Allira's posts, but I do appreciate your point about GN being for everyone. I hope that whoever X is, she is not given a bad time because of this from those who think they know who she is - from the sound of it no one person was 'responsible', and anyway, if someone is feeling 'got at' reporting is what we are encouraged to do.

MaizieD Tue 02-Jun-26 21:50:58

I'm afraid I can't comment on the price of eggs. A friend has her chickens on a piece of our land and I get eggs as 'rent'...

Does this inability bar me from your interesting discussions hmm

Galaxy Tue 02-Jun-26 21:53:02

I think it is also interesting that there are posters with a range of political views on here and most are unable to understand it.

BlueBelle Tue 02-Jun-26 21:57:57

We seem to have all given up ! And we can’t

Gransnet please answer this …the problems you are saying Allira has supposedly caused over the years, why has simply NOBODY on here noticed any of them?
How can we all be ignorant of these offences…. you ve seen the amount of posts calling her kind, funny, quirky why are we posters not seeing all this nastiness you are referring

Can there have been a mistake ?

Bellanonna Tue 02-Jun-26 22:09:55

Only just caught up with this latest news and it’s very sad. Does anyone recognise, by their absence, anyone who might normally contribute to this thread? Just wonder if, whoever the reporter is, she will come back under a different guise. Just very mean spirited to oust someone on pretty tenuous grounds just because you didn’t like them.
Someone earlier said GN might review this case. It would be good to think so but from what Annie says I don’t hold out much hope.

Yes, and that disagreeing with someone politically doesn't mean that you can't get on with them otherwise. I have friends of many political persuasions, and we either disagree then forget about it or choose to keep the conversation to other matters.

It's easy enough offline, so why does it seem so difficult online? There is no need to preface a comment about the weather with 'I usually disagree with you, but . . .', is there? Or to assume that a discussion about airfryers or Coronation Street can't be civil.

Galaxy Tue 02-Jun-26 22:13:35

Airfryers are the devil's work.

Mollygo Tue 02-Jun-26 22:25:42

Goodbye Allira. It seems so wrong, that you won’t be posting.
Whether we always agreed or not, I don't remember your posts ever being offensive.
Sending hugs. ❤️

Oreo Tue 02-Jun-26 22:34:19

Having joined this forum around three years ago, Allira was the first person to welcome me and I will miss her very much.
Goodbye from me Allira, I expect you will find other forums to join so I may ‘see’ you again in the future.x

There’s non so blind as them who can not see. Or in this debacle, them that refuse to see.

Heavens, Galaxy, please be careful! There may be some over-sensitive airfryer enthusiast out there who thinks you're being "goady".
(And no - I haven't reported you. It's a joke, folks.)

I’m so sorry this has happened, Allira. I’ll miss you.
