I hate the lack of transparency LauraNorderr

The mods TELL us how it happens but in actuality is does not.

Why would posters blatantly ignore a warning (or several as they say)? Anyone doing this would be sailing close to the wind. It just doesn’t add up.

I feel cheated to be honest believing that there is a procedure when there isn’t one.

Maybe the mods are of the opinion that deletions from thread ‘are’ warnings?

However some posters get deleted many times and are still with us!
So that assumption doesn’t hold water either.

No wonder after a banning we all (or most of us) walk on eggshells …

Trigger happy posters just waiting t for us to get caught in their crosshairs is how I’m viewing it now so I’m going to swerve any contentious threads

No more Farage, Trump, rubber boat people or dissention of left leaning ideology will ever be posted again by myself. It’s no longer worth the risk with this opaque regulatory stance by the mods.

And it’s such a shame too as much more robust debates take place over in Mumsnet.

They must think that if any of US dared to post in a similar vein that some posters would be reaching for the smelling salts.

I can’t believe just how many of you lovely, funny, interesting and inoffensive posters have been threatened with banishment. Something is rotten in the state of GNHQ.

Yes. Indubitably something has gone badly wrong. Wires crossed somewhere.

Surely if they were confident in their assessment they'd show Allira their evidence? That's the mystery, why won't they share that with her? They were willing to decimate her reputation and character publicly but not willing to share evidence with her privately. It's brutal and cruel and totally unworthy.

What I don't like is the inference that Allira deliberately set out to be goading or offensive in her style. It's not as though she got up every morning and thought, now who can I elicit a negative reaction from today on GN by instigating an argument that has nothing to do with the discussion?

I think they are seeing a good sense of fun and humour and turning it into a total negative, but maybe we ll never know as they don’t seem to want to have any kind of discussion with us, much the same as they don’t want any discussion with Allira

I wish I knew who the poster is who has done this. Need to avoid that person.

How many of us have asked ourselves what would I do in this situation.
I couldn’t come back as Petra for obvious reasons. The person who reported me is still there and I know that they are protected by the powers that be.
I could come back under the rada but I’ve lost all my friends
The new Petra would have no friends here, no shared experiences etc.
It would be like starting a new school.
Millions of people use social media just to have their say on different subjects but that’s not the case for the majority of members here.
So we are where we are 😥

It’s the immediate cut off,
nowhere to turn,
no chance to look at the post which was reported and, unless you’ve exchanged emails, no chance to get in touch with those you’ve come to regard as friends on GN.

The person who reported me is still there and I know that they are protected . . .
even if only by the system, is one of the most worrying aspects.

At the moment, I avoid posts by the poster(s) I think were responsible, or make sure I’m careful to agree with them and I copy and save the post I’m answering and the response I put because I worry about being policed off. That’s not how I thought GN would be.

IMO (we’re allowed opinions)I wish I didn’t think someone is enjoying this thread for all the wrong reasons, but I do.
And the worry that this post might be my last because I’ve upset them by putting that . . .

I said upthread that maybe we should keep reporting it - is meant so that they have to rake notice of it.

Why would you feel you have to agree with the reporter mollygo I d rather be deleted than agree with someone who has done this to a fellow human being
I wonder if she meant it to go this far ? has she purposely targeted Allira and if so why ? Or was it just a silly moment of taking offence at a joke
