Just tried this - and am astonished as to how much information there is about me on there - even photos and my birth date.
Okay, I am someone who joins organisations and have sat, and still do sit on several committees......but even so.......!!!

Nothing on me, which I am happy about, but based on my surname lots of stuff comes up about my DDs.

You can click the three dots by the side of a result and ask Google to remove it if you wish.

I have a very common first and last name, both are near the top of lists of popular first names and common last names.

If I google my name, I am swamped with loads of people with the same name all of whom have done something more interesting or noteworthy than I have done.

Nothing on me, whew! But quite a few creative women who share my name, so I’ll live in their shadow.

Grandmabatty Mon 18-May-26 15:35:00

I used to be on it when I was working as I had organised many educational sessions. Now, although there are many women on Google who share my name, im no longer there. Hurrah

Absolutely not! I don't want to to go down that (potential) rabbit hole.

There is a lady in the US who shares my quite rare name. She does lots of good works for charity, apparently. I don’t participate in social media, so nothing on me fortunately.

My younger son found someone on Facebook with the same name. He was American and happened to be visiting London. They met up and had lunch.

There are a few people with the same name but not many, I have a French first name and my surname is obviously ‘Yorkshire’.

I have the same name as Queen from the 16th century so lots about her but luckily nothing about me😂 there was also someone from Bulgaria that had something on Tic Tock about 2 pages in.

Just tried it, but I am not the only one with my name. Almost all the information is on page 2 and onwards.

It is mainly to do with my outside activities, and academic publications.

Ditto! 😁

I googled myself and thought 'Fame at last!'

Yup, I ‘do’ radio and narrate audiobooks so I’m easy to find. Only if you know my name though 😉🤣

I think most people now request Google to remove all personal data as someone posted above. I think it was the EU who created this feature in the (happy) days before Brexit.

AGAA4 Tue 19-May-26 14:10:46

Several people with my name but the only one that is me is on Companies House when I was a director.

suelld Tue 19-May-26 14:25:22

I run a small business, so am happy to be there, but another lady with the same name is an American author, so she turns up in the prime spot

Chaitriona Tue 19-May-26 14:35:42

Have just tried. I have an unique name. Things that used to be there have vanished. But there are more recent things. I think it is because so many organizations are now on line, newsletters, charities and so on. A1 is quite flattering. It makes me sound like a very active and achieving person. It is illusion. But at least it is not derogatory. I don't worry about it. I don't suppose it will make much difference in any practical way to my life. I doubt if many or any people Google me..

Dd has a very unusual name. To my surprise when I googled it I found another with exactly the same spelling but in another country and another time. Makes you think.

Oldnproud Tue 19-May-26 14:44:06

I have found myself.
However, there is a much more successful person with exactly the same name. Given the field she works in, it is quite possible that anyone from my past who decides to Google me might well thing I have done far better than I really have.

MT62 Tue 19-May-26 14:50:26

Nope. I am not interesting enough 🤣

Nicksmrs46 Tue 19-May-26 14:53:30

I googled me but no , I’m not there personally although about 15 ladies with my name …. I’m obviously safe from prying eyes!!😁

Mollygo Tue 19-May-26 14:58:07

My goodness me I’m famous in so many different categories and life skills, all of whom look younger and seem much better paid than me. None of whom is actually me.
I’m astonished about how much personal information, age, family, location, though not actual address.
I’m quite relieved to be anonymous.

Dreadwitch Tue 19-May-26 15:11:05

I can't be found on Google, I value my privacy so make sure the info isn't out there.

MrsSquirrel Tue 19-May-26 15:12:09

Googling myself most of the results that come up are about a law professor in New York. Then there is a midwife in Maryland. The only one about the real me is my listing on Companies House from when I was a director of a company.
