Good Morning Everyone,
Its daylight but looking grey and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday I did not risk it and did not go on the coach trip, health wise .
Today a day indoors besides meals with watch Tour Of Italy on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Malta where a sunny but hazy day is forecast with a high of 26°C.

My neighbour cancelled our coffee yesterday so I went over to look after my treasures while DD3 went to the hairdresser in peace!

It’s Mother’s Day today and I was given two lovely cards, a locket with photos of DD3 and the boys inside (❤️), and poppy earrings from DD1. Very unexpected but much appreciated.

This morning I will go to Mass after which my upstairs neighbour has asked me to go out for lunch with her. Being an introvert, I’d much rather stay at home and have a quiet day but I know she’s lonely and misses having someone to go out with.

There’s tennis to watch when I return.

I hope you all have a peaceful Sunday.🤗

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it looks cool and cloudy again.

Too bad you missed your trip Mick, I hope you feel better today.

My day yesterday was so enjoyable, Baggs had a book of Glasgow walks and we followed one of the city centre routes which gave us so much information about many of the buildings, the styles of architecture and what they were originally built for. It was very interesting. My late Dad used to always tell us to look up when we were walking around the city and we did a lot of that yesterday.

Today will also be busy as DH has a cousin visiting from the USA and a family gathering has been organised. We haven’t seen her for many years and I believe she has invited distant cousins of theirs who I don’t believe I’ve ever met. It could be a tiring day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, especially those with struggles to bear.

Morning from Lancashire. could make a nice day once the sun has burnt of the cloud. Touch of frost on the ground and the birds singing. Dogs been walked and now just chilling with a cup of coffee. Hope you have a better day today Mick.

Good morning from a hazy Bristol. Although it’s reasonably warm out in the sun, there is this cold breeze, which spoils things. I do leave my front door propped open for ventilation.
Yesterday was odd. Flamingo Chicks were having a 24 dance-athon, so I popped in when coming back from getting my paper to give them som3 well deserved funds.
I texted DD, saying that they only had 2.5hours to go before finishing, she replied that she and Iris were already there. (Some of the yoga bums in the air that I caught sight of must have been theirs). I hurriedly hung the washing on the line, had my breakfast and went back to see them. This time it was some sort of gentle dancercise.
I came home to get ready to serve coffee, only to find the church still locked. I had forgotten my phone at home, so had to wait for my serving partner to arrive. Obviously, the vicar had the day off but she didn’t have keyholder numbers. Eventually, she found someone who was coming. Meanwhile, I was sitting by the other door, when the caretaker came. So between them, the church was opened very late and we were able to set up.
People came in rather late, even the chap who is normally very early. On the other hand, one chap always arrived about 15 minutes before we normally close, talks and talks …
The vicar popped in bringing some rhubarb from his allotment. I pounced on it! He also had some card; I had some for dinner. It was delicious.
The afternoon was quiet, bed-making, etc.
Today just church as usual.
May many blessings pour over you today. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

That’s me chilling with a coffee. Not the dog 😂. He is curled up asleep

Good morning, it’s rather chilly here on the hillside in south Glos after yesterday’s lovely sunshine.
I enjoyed my zoom art although my painting was pretty bad! It was lovely to chat with the others who are all proficient artists and very friendly.
I have a pile of ironing to tackle this morning, including two big white damask tablecloths that I bought online very cheaply. I will use them on my dining room table, one has a beautiful handmade crochet border.
My DGS1 had a great time at his 10th birthday picnic, a joint one with his friend. DDIL said everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Another week of waiting for hospital appointments, it’s tedious but nothing I can do to speed things along. I will be phoning dermatology because my 4-6 week wait for an appointment is now 9 weeks.
Best wishes to you all x
🌹

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and sunny. GrandMattie i love rhubarb. I havent had any for a long time. Bellasnana happy mothers day to you. Up2u that picture of the dog drinking coffee made me smile.
Yesterday I met my friend and her daughter for breakfast. We had a really enjoyable time. I also bought a nice pie and a mini trifle from the deli for my dinner too. In the afternoon the garden firm owner came to measure up and find out what I want done. I think it will be costly but I don't care. I want an accessible garden.
Today I will go to aldi then potter about again. I need to do a small ironing. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a grey S E Essex, we have absolutely nothing planned for today other than roast beef this evening.

I shall probably start a new book in my Kindle and/or find something on TV this afternoon.

Middle son and wife are in Barcelona, no doubt I will receive photos over the next couple of days.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Melanie61 Sun 10-May-26 07:12:33

Good morning from Sheffield

It looks lovely and sunny, we will get the bikes out. We shall cycle on the tow path of the Chesterfield canal. It’s a very pretty path and not busy.
Then back to do the garden jobs I didn’t do yesterday
Roast pork and trimmings later and then collapse!

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is making an effort, but it is chilly. Mick I’m sorry you missed your trip and hope you’re feeling better.

I missed my trip too. I was supposed to go to the theatre last night but when I went to get some cash out of the local ATM, I fell on the way back to the car. Hurt my knees, bruised my face, cut my hand and wrenched my shoulder. No lasting damage but no theatre either. This morning I had planned an assault on the garden but that will have to wait. DD will be over today to check on me, but it will be very much a rest day.

Baubles I always tell people to look up when they walk through our city centre - there is some amazing stonework at the top of the older buildings.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Gagagran Sun 10-May-26 07:14:53

Good Morning all from a still dull central south coast. Not feeling much warmth yet but that will change once the sun gets going.

I had a disturbed night and woke more than once and then again with a headache at 4am. Took paracetamol and rifted off but think the concerns over my Isle of Man family were causing tension. Hope for a quiet and gentle day today.

Just had a message from DGD1 to say she has got a permanent job at the school where she has been supply teaching ever since last September. I am delighted for her. It is a 10 minute walk from home so she has saved lots on travel expenses and is a lovely village school with delightful children. They are lucky to get her with her musical talents a great plus!

This morning I need DH to help me change my big winter duvet for the summer one (plus a blanket for now) as my left arm is still unreliable and duvets definitely need two good arms to manage them. He will provide my missing muscle!

Hope the day brings some comfort and ease to all our GNs in need of respite. sunshine

Greyduster Sun 10-May-26 07:16:41

Melanie the scones at the cafe at Hollingwood Hub are amazing but you have to get there early😁!

ginny Sun 10-May-26 07:17:14

Good morning from.Bucks where the forecast is for light cloud and dry.
We had an unexpected visit from friends yesterday afternoon and enjoyed sitting in the garden and catching up on all the news.
Today we shall be busy in the garden , planting and tidying.
Wishing all a good day .

Georgesgran Sun 10-May-26 07:23:40

Good morning from sunny Spain. Day trip yesterday into Barcelona was good, one of my favourite cities, but the heavens opened about 2pm and continued into the night. We were soaked and had to buy umbrellas, so I hope your son had packed more suitable attire GG13. Today will be more reading around the pool, as we walked so far and feel achy.
Sorry to hear of your fall (or trip) Greyd hope you’re not too battered and bruised.
Mick a shame you missed your trip, but hope you got some advice, just in case of infection - it sounded most odd.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Cornwall where it is clear-skyed and fresh and my heating has just come on. I'm on my patio swing seat and the blackbird pair have just been to collect the oats I put out. No sign of gulls still which is unheard of at this time of year. Maybe they've chosen another rooftop for rearing a family. I see many gulls going to and fro overhead with beaks full of twigs for their nests but none are landing here. My echium is now above the roof height. It's a shame I've had to tie it to my aerial pole but it doesn't seem to be thwarted by that.

No painting yesterday - my daughter-in-law and I decided to have a break for a couple of days. Today I'll pop on a bus to church and then who knows where? Later I'll have to eat a profuse amount of smoked salmon which was half price in Sainsbury's yesterday and must be consumed today. Yum. 😆

cornergran Sun 10-May-26 07:36:46

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny, cooler corner of Somerset.

A thoroughly enjoyable day yesterday, excellent food, some thoughtful gifts, enough flowers to stock a florist and best of all the family were relaxed and chatty. Our former daughter in law will be here this morning then our normal quiet life will resume. I’ve been thoroughly spoiled.

Mr C has promised to manage bedding change, with one eye out for ratty and his friends there are also bits we hope to do in the garden. I must phone our Welsh friend at some point which will give me a sit down for an hour.

Oh heck greyd, please try to stay upright. Happy Mother’s Day bellasnana. Congratulations to your daughter gagagran.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Good morning from a dull, windy, chilly Leicestershire.

So sorry to hear of your fall Greyduster I hope you feel okay today.
Our town has a lot of interesting buildings we recently went on an Art Deco tour.

Today I am going to the Spring Fair that kitty was singing at yesterday. Pity she won’t be there today.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

luluaugust Sun 10-May-26 07:39:20

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s bright with high cloud this morning. A cooler day is forecast. Yesterday was beautiful, warm and sunny all day. I changed the bedding, did some batch cooking and did some gardening.
DD2 will come over this morning and will put petrol in my car for me - I don’t have the strength in my hands to squeeze the petrol hose!

grandmattie well done to Iris for participating in the danceathon and attempting Irish dancing!

greyduster I hope you’re not in too much pain today after your fall, definitely a restful day is needed.

baubles your walk yesterday sounds very interesting and informative. Enjoy your family get together today!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Stockport.
Yesterday didn’t go to plan, after my GS and my GGD’s left we got ready to go to a Makers market in a nearby village, just as we left the heavens opened and we had rain, hail, thunder and lightening.
It was so sudden and unexpected, the people we were meeting got in touch and we arranged to go for lunch in a local pub instead.
We couldn’t even get out of the ars for about 15 minutes it was so extreme and local roads flooded instantly.
The pub definitely wasn’t worth the wait, we won’t go again.
We then all came back to mine for hot drinks and the just two year old and the eleven month old played very happily for a couple of hours but oh boy I was glad to see them leave, I was childrened out.
I was so tired that I had a bowl of cereal and went to bed.
I really am aging fast.
A very quiet day today.
I hope you all find some sun in your life today and the gardeners among you get some work done.

latedecember1963 Sun 10-May-26 07:41:39

Good morning from Anglesey.

Yesterday morning we went to Llangefni to do a food shop and to drop off some jigsaws at the Red Cross shop.
We pottered about the caravan in the afternoon. I used a garden footstool and a washing up bowl to make an improvised water table for the little chap to play in which he loved.

DH will head back to Lancashire later today but we're going to stay here for the week.

I'm always fascinated by buildings too, **Baubles. Manchester is full of buildings that speak of it's Victorian wealth but Rochdale and Bury have good examples, too.

Happy Mother's Day, **Bellasnanna.

Have a good day, everyone. 🌻

Gelisajams Sun 10-May-26 07:42:52

Good morning all from Morecambe Bay where a dry day is promised and may well materialise as the sky is currently a clear blue.
A busy day for us to day getting the remainder of the clearing away and cleaning done ahead of the decorator coming, packing for our week in Northumberland, car to clean, Crazy dog to walk, plants to water thoroughly just in case we have a dry week and a few to plant out… I’m also hoping to get to church, I’ll keep the GM poorlies in my prayers. Take care.

thanks

Usedtobeblonde Sun 10-May-26 07:43:07

Some fat finger typing there!!

Melanie61 Sun 10-May-26 07:43:30

Greyduster, I know where you mean. We need to be on our way then.
I’m sorry about your fall. It really shakes you up doesn’t it. Take it steady today and restflowers
