Dyson fan

I don’t need a fan unless the temperature is over 38 degrees. Did feel the Dyson one in Marks and Spencer Marble Arch in the homeware department and found it amazing. OH needs a fan all night. He uses the £12 one he bought me for the menopause. I’m 73 and still waiting for a hot flush. LOL. The noise of this tiny fan and the light drives me nuts. He has an a/c in the loft. Thank goodness he didn’t bring it down this year. We have a spare room where he escapes to with all windows open and it’s freezing.

We like our Dyson fan, it cools the room nicely and there’s no danger of our grandson catching his fingers in it.

Our Dyson tower fan is very quiet, super efficient even on lowest setting, and looks good too. Very surprised by adverse comments.

I have a Dyson vacuum. It's not useless but its very heavy and unwieldy. I prefer my lovely cordless Air Ram.

Would be lost without my Dyson fan, have had it on all night for the last week or so, would not be able to sleep otherwise. I think the remote is great.

I’ve got a light/ceiling fan in my bedroom & would 100% recommend it (can’t remember the make but bought from Argos) I can operate light & fan from my bed with remote control

Don’t have a Dyson fan but do have 2x Xpelair tower fans . They are brilliant. If anyone’s thinking why do i have 2? One is for upstairs and one for downstairs!😊

I have the tall, thin Dyson blade and find it excellent.

I just bought a Shark Flexibreeze. Expensive but very good and it's rechargeable and it can be used cordless or corded and can be used outside with a mister attachment.

A friend kindly lent us her Dyson fan to try out and we didn't find it was much use. We bought a tower fan (Pro Breeze) from Amazon and find it does the job. It's currently under £35, has different power levels, a timer and it oscillates. I've had it two years without any problems and don't feel it's worth spending any more. Because of the timer I'm not bothered by not having a remote. I stand it on a table at the far end of my bedroom so that the airflow wafts at pillow height
It's very similar to the first of Shysal's recommendations above, but cheaper.
Personally my experience of Dyson products has been disappointing, even without consideration of price.

I really like ours - does a great job.

Mine is 5 years old, so not the newest and placed in front of an open window gives a lovely cool breeze right across a fair sized room

Mine is a floor standing pedestal so the remote (same as yours with bumps added by me to feel at night) has to be aimed at floor level. I would prefer it at the end of the bed, but have to stand it beside instead.
One of my cats likes to park herself on the bed between me and the fan!

I find mine is very efficient, virtually silent and very cooling.

I don`t use my dyson heater as a fan, I could but I don`t. I have a dedicated dyson pedestal fan in my bedroom and a dyson table fan downstairs. They are so good that I would buy them again. The heater/fan was first purchased when the dgc were small, for safety reasons and I purchased the 2 dedicated fans as soon as I could. Again very safe and I particularly like the oscillation feature and timer

The signal from the remote needs to have a clear line to the fan sensors. I cannot operate mine from my bed as the fan base is out of sight

Every item I have from dyson has a remote, including my humidifier, which I desperately needed when I had dry eyes

Just seen you have a remote- I can’t say I’ve had any trouble adjusting it up or down from bed.
Wish I could run the rest of my life the same way!

I have an old Dyson fan, with a circular bladeless head. It is fairly quiet and cools well, but I find the operation annoying. The remote has to point at the base, so requires me to lean out of bed to control it.
I saw a review of some fans on the This Morning programme the other day and made a note of some of their findings. They recommended the Levoit Silent Tower fan and praised the Princess air cooler, which can take included ice packs to lower the temperature.

JaneJudge the fan that you suggested came second, and a Best Buy, in the most recent Which? tests. Noise level ‘average’.

First was a Duux whisper pedestal fan £108.00 described as
‘ very quiet’ with Dyson further down the chart, also ‘average’

Mine is OK and I'm glad of it but it just stirs the hot air rather than cools it. Fair enough, it's just a fan not air conditioning.

When I think of all the clunky whirring fans I’ve had and junked in the past, I wish I’d had it seeker.
