Good morning Michael and all GN's from a cold dark North Yorkshire. Another struggling morning, with my back very painful, so not making any plans for the day. Will have to sees if things improve at all.
Yesterday was a very domestic day, where I did manage to do quite a bit of clearing out and sorting, but unfortunately still no sign of my watch and various other things I had hoped to retrieve. I was feeling tired all day and did drop off to sleep for a couple of naps , which helped me at the time to feel a bit more alive and get things done, but definitely didnt help last night, as between my leg hurting and my back refusing to settle down or find a comfortable place, it was a rubbish night, helped a little bit by occasionally listening to radio 3 unwind. So glad to be up actually.
Everything seemed to take forever yesterday, but at least I did finally make up my venison stew, which was so good that when I had it for my sunday dinner with a glass of red wine, my original intention of leaving some or freezing some to go with a jacket potato another day was ignored and I ate it all. It really was very good, and a very warming and comfortable meal and I shall keep an eye out for more in a reduced price zone. (Why is it that I really enjoy expensive things?)
Anyway I felt that that was a reward for my halo earning efforts. The DID and private passions were good accompaniments to my efforts. If my back improves I will carry on a bit more today. It looked lovely and bright outside, but whilst I was in the mood to do the sorting I carried on. Later I watched Antique Roadshow and the last part of the Time and went to bed feeling I had at least made some inroads into jobs.
Today at some point I need to go and get milk and a few bits, but just the odd thin and hope that the shower can work its magic on my back. Suddenly sneezed just now and ouch! ouch! So it will be yellow peril to the rescue.
Hope your delivery comes early Mick and you can get out and about .Ashcombe , my granny was a great shot, and I used to love rabbit stew , which was cooked on the old range kind of cooker and with jacket potatoes would sit simmering there ready to eat when we came in from a chilly job feeding stock or whatever. I remember the awful miximatosis, where the poor things would be just sat there staring. It was a horrible disease and I think that even when that had gone, it left people not wanting or trusting rabbit to be safe. Occasionally we used to have hare too, but cooked simply in a casserole not done as jugged hare.I hope the weather stays good for you and you enjoy your break.
Time to creak off and see if I can manage a shower yet, and then can come back and read more posts from everyone. Think it is definitely time to search out the gloves and hats and put away that last thin pair of trousers Wishing everyone a good start to their week with success in jobs and a chance to meet up with friends or family
