At the risk of this being the most boring thread of the day, and possibly the year; its snowing hard outside.

We had a covering last night in Surrey. DD2 and J has been out and when we started home at 9pm it was already snowing bit hairy driving back( her not me) All gone this morning but black ice so horrible and same daughter driving early skidding around warming me not to drive but now it’s very sunny so hopefully all melted later, my car is still covered on windscreen and front with snow and ice. I hate driving in it it scares me but ok if I can stay in and look out the window!

TwiceAsNice Wed 30-Jan-19 12:15:12

I not J

SueDonim Wed 30-Jan-19 13:08:06

It snowed here overnight despite not being forecast. hmm

Anyway, today I am preoccupied by photos of William and Kate opening the new V&A outpost in Dundee yesterday. It was Baltic and she only had a dress on - why didn't her mother make her wear her Big Coat in the cold weather? grin

M0nica Wed 30-Jan-19 14:18:24

She probably had several thermal vests underneath the dress.

SueDonim Wed 30-Jan-19 14:33:56

She's have needed it on the river front there! I'm wrapped up in thermals and fleece but unfortunately I look more like the Michelin Man than Kate. grin

Jalima1108 Wed 30-Jan-19 14:35:54

It looks like a tartan coat plus a scarf *SueDonim?
(and it's years old!)

cavewoman Wed 30-Jan-19 14:43:55

Apparently it's a £1,395 tweed dress. She looks wonderful in it, whatever.

Jalima1108 Wed 30-Jan-19 14:48:30

Perhaps she has just managed to fit back into it after Louis.

Jalima1108 Wed 30-Jan-19 14:49:23

after having Louis!

Nico97 Wed 30-Jan-19 15:14:50

South Yorkshire too and the sun is still shining brightly. In anticipation we bought a sledge for the kids to play with - still waiting hmm

Oldbat1 Wed 30-Jan-19 15:53:37

Clear blue sunny skies today. We’re in the borders.

Charleygirl5 Wed 30-Jan-19 16:03:12

I do not think it is cold enough for snow here in NW London at present although that may change overnight. It was colder earlier today when it was -2C.

SueDonim Wed 30-Jan-19 19:12:32

In that case, she was wearing her tartan coat/dress indoors as well, hahaha!

I did think I'd seen it before - maybe it's her What I wear In Scotland outfit. I used to have a gorgeous black watch tartan kilt that I loved to wear. In fact, I still have it, but it would only fit one leg now, because it seems to have mysteriously shrunk whilst hanging in the wardrobe. grin

M0nica Wed 30-Jan-19 19:14:37

Just heard on the news that the snow has reached Swindon, about 20 miles to the west of us, so I am just hoping it will not get so cold tonight that it doesn't snow.

EllanVannin Wed 30-Jan-19 19:28:26

Bitterly cold tonight. I'm a bit worried for the old stray cat as he wasn't in his kennel outside the patio door. Probably got scared with the helicopter overhead this morning. I feed him 3 times a day as well as my own cats, but he's not as fussy as they are and will eat a bit of mashed potato or pasta mixed with cat food to fill him and keep him warm. He's about 16, could be older than that. I hope he's alright.

Another dusting of snow while I haven't been looking so I bet it will freeze on top of it------lethal ! So long as it's gone by Friday as I have a B/day card to post and don't fancy breaking a limb in the process.

BlueBelle Wed 30-Jan-19 19:48:07

Nothing at all in my part of Suffolk

Anniebach Wed 30-Jan-19 20:48:48

Forecast- snow on the way for Mid Wales, mountains in for a fall

lemongrove Wed 30-Jan-19 21:02:30

We all may be in for a fall Annie if it gets icy! ?
No snow yet here, but tomorrow night may be in for some, and DGC are hoping for no school on Friday.

blondenana Wed 30-Jan-19 23:14:14

No snow on the East coast, we had a beautiful sunny day
Hoping it doesnt arrive here next week as my son and partner coming from Spain for his mil funeral, and to get to me they have to cross North Yorkshire moors, which is often impassable with heavy snow, the funeral is 40 miles from me,so hopefully they will be ok

CatMum59 Thu 31-Jan-19 09:53:39

As I haven't got any windows or external doors in my house, grin and no television or radio, I had no idea. I thought it was still summer grin...and yes, it's the most boring thread by far grin

Anniebach Thu 31-Jan-19 10:05:31

May not get my grocery order today

Elegran Thu 31-Jan-19 10:38:53

But you read it, catsmum, didn't you, and even posted on it! If you found it so boring, why did you pay any attention to it? It wasn't your conversation. No-one forced you into it.

SueDonim Thu 31-Jan-19 13:56:27

It was minus 8 here when I went out at about 10:30am. It's a lovely day, though, sunny and bright and I'm off out again soon. smile

CatMum59 Thu 31-Jan-19 15:27:19

Elegran...who rattled your cage? It wasn't your post either! I was, in fact, joking.... hence the grins.
