It's snowing!

I hope the milkman can get through today.

Not much snow here this morning. Lots fell this afternoon and it was snowing when I picked my DGS up from school. The usual 10 minute journey took 2 hours! Mostly because I took a back road and ended up having to help some other motorists who'd got stuck on an icy bank. One of them had ended up in the hedge.

But thanks to my winter tyres, which I change to religiously every year, my car eventually sailed up the bank as if there was nothing untoward about it! Luckily 4 y old DGS had gone to sleep and slept through it all but he was a bit disappointed not to get the promised sledging when we eventually got home.

It'll all be here tomorrow, though...

It's been bitterly cold here in East Midlands, and we've had frost but no snow...yet. Hello all, by the way.

We still have snow lying where it fell on Tuesday night, and the pavements are treacherous where the snow has been compacted and re-frozen.
The sun has melted some of the 'white s***e', but areas which are mainly shaded are still solid! Our back lawn is still covered to a depth of almost 2 inches, which isn't a lot, but it'll be nice when we can see green again!
I've seen enough snow now to last me for at least another 12 months, so am hoping for no more of it!

Son is making a car journey from Berkshire to Devon today, so I have an afternoon of worry ahead. I've tried to talk him out of it but he is so stubborn.

Just a light bright sunny day here by the sea--------but it's bitter outside with only the odd remnants of snow from a couple of days ago which has hardened in parts where it fell.

Had about 2-3 inches of snow overnight making my side road on a hill treacherous.
I set out wearing Yaktrax to buy a newspaper for my elderly neighbour early this morning and never got there because I came home for my bucket and shovel to spread grit/salt, from the Council bin, the full length of the road to help all the motorists who couldn't get moving. One other lady joined me but we hardly received a thankyou!

Back today from 30 degrees in NZ! I looked out of the window as the plane came in to land at Manchester and the snow coverage looked just patchy, though the hills are well covered. The pavements are treacherous, so I will not venture out today, and content myself with unpacking and putting away all my summer clothes.

We had a little bit of snow yesterday. We walked to the village this morning along the beach, snow on the sand. Absolutely freezing but very beautiful. Something we have wanted to do since we moved here.

It is still snowing, even more heavily than earlier and we now have our gas supply back so can put the heating back on (and DH can have his bath!).

Thankfully, I have a dual fuel cooker so at least we have been able to cook a hot lunch and eat it in the kitchen, which the oven had warmed through.

Rain only here in Thanet(Ramsgate) not that we want any.

Nope still no sign of snow despite our Severe Weather Warning!

Snow in Devon! Yay! I've been out this morning delivering local magazines. It wasn't too bad. But I've realised one of the downsides of living alone - taking your wellington boots off... it's so difficult!

We had about an inch last evening, and that seems to be it.
Lovely sunny day here on Tyneside. But still cold.

Oh goody. I woke up this morning, opened my blinds and it's all white outside. We have had one or two snow flurries since.
I have to take my granddaughter to the swimming pool tonight, for her kayaking lesson. Let's hope we don't get much, as the roads are all open at present.

Oh no it isn't! We live north of Watford - the 'frozen north' and not a sign of it! Our Wifi went down earlier today so the threat of snow must have been the cause

It is never too cold for snow, but the lower the temperature falls below zero the less and less likely it is to snow. The ideal temperature for snow is between 0 - 2 degrees.

Which it was last night and as a result we woke to a winter wonderland. The school opposite us is obviously closed for the day - and we have problems with our gas supply again so I will need to ring the gas people and get them to come and pump the gas main out. Meanwhile we have lit the stove and hope we have no more non-burning wood like we had yesterday.

Mycat My dad was in Iceland for months during the war and he would say "it's too cold for snow"

Nothing in Kent, in fact it's raining.

I agree Grannybags choice is wonderful and I choose to stay indoors in the warmth.

Snow arrived here near Bristol last night and it is still snowing heavily

Glad I'm retired and have no need to go out in it!
