At the risk of this being the most boring thread of the day, and possibly the year; its snowing hard outside.

It was probably surprise at seeing a post from you that triggered me, catsmum You have only posted once before, as far as I can see, and often a "sharp" post from a new name means that someone has dropped in to criticise and drop back out again. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

CatMum59 Thu 31-Jan-19 16:55:02

I understand, it's ok. I am new and not really sure of the "regular" posters and their reactions yet.

They are promising us snow tonighthmm, they keep doing that.

At least we aren't in the States and under the whirl of the Polar Vortex,

M0nica Thu 31-Jan-19 21:59:27

EllanVannin Thu 31-Jan-19 22:14:50

Just ice here which has sealed the lid on the wheelie bin.

boheminan Thu 31-Jan-19 22:28:26

Yay! started about an hour ago. Yippie (well, for now anyway)

MiniMoon Thu 31-Jan-19 23:02:09

I feel cheated! Still no snow here.

Charleygirl5 Fri 01-Feb-19 08:46:36

Mini Moon you are more than welcome to have what has fallen in NW London and still falling. Tara my cat does not understand so she is mumping and moaning.

No snow here, just muddy coloured slush. My granddaughter and I are heartily disappointed we were both hoping for a school snow day. We wanted to have a cosy day together rather than the early morning school run.

Anniebach Fri 01-Feb-19 09:10:28

Snow in Powys , some roads possible with care some closed, schools closed.

Grannybags Fri 01-Feb-19 09:14:30

Snow arrived here near Bristol last night and it is still snowing heavily

Glad I'm retired and have no need to go out in it!

Charleygirl5 Fri 01-Feb-19 09:20:04

I agree Grannybags choice is wonderful and I choose to stay indoors in the warmth.

ninathenana Fri 01-Feb-19 09:26:19

Mycat My dad was in Iceland for months during the war and he would say "it's too cold for snow"

Nothing in Kent, in fact it's raining.

angelic Fri 01-Feb-19 09:31:40

Lot of snow here in Hampshire, have been up early building a snowman ⛄️ and doing Snow Angels with GS

M0nica Fri 01-Feb-19 09:36:54

It is never too cold for snow, but the lower the temperature falls below zero the less and less likely it is to snow. The ideal temperature for snow is between 0 - 2 degrees.

Which it was last night and as a result we woke to a winter wonderland. The school opposite us is obviously closed for the day - and we have problems with our gas supply again so I will need to ring the gas people and get them to come and pump the gas main out. Meanwhile we have lit the stove and hope we have no more non-burning wood like we had yesterday.

Nonnie Fri 01-Feb-19 10:12:19

Oh no it isn't! We live north of Watford - the 'frozen north' and not a sign of it! Our Wifi went down earlier today so the threat of snow must have been the cause grin

MiniMoon Fri 01-Feb-19 10:19:37

Oh goody. I woke up this morning, opened my blinds and it's all white outside. We have had one or two snow flurries since.
I have to take my granddaughter to the swimming pool tonight, for her kayaking lesson. Let's hope we don't get much, as the roads are all open at present.

blondenana Fri 01-Feb-19 10:35:08

Just started snowing here, thick snowflakes, usually doesnt last long here though

Kateykrunch Fri 01-Feb-19 11:21:15

Its bad here in South Yorkshire today....eek!

Fennel Fri 01-Feb-19 11:35:50

We had about an inch last evening, and that seems to be it.
Lovely sunny day here on Tyneside. But still cold.

Anniebach Fri 01-Feb-19 11:37:39

No milkman this morning

henetha Fri 01-Feb-19 11:45:45

Snow in Devon! Yay! I've been out this morning delivering local magazines. It wasn't too bad. But I've realised one of the downsides of living alone - taking your wellington boots off... it's so difficult!
