She IS the love of my life, at uni now and enjoying it very much. Of course there are no grants these days, it is all loans so we are helping her out. I'm giving £200 a month and her parents give the same so I thought she'd be fine. She never asks for money but occasionally asks if she can have her allowance a bit early which is what happened this month. I sent the money as usual, but I am beginning to wonder what she is spending her money on as she has no bills or rent to pay as she's in halls and that's another loan.
I'm worried about asking her as I don't want to upset her and I can afford the £200 per month easily and I do say to let me know if she's running short. When we were working out what we'd give her,me and her parents, they were saying she didn't need £400 a month but we'd stick with that and see how she went (this is her first term).
I haven't said anything to her parents (my son is her dad) and I get on well with DIL but I can't trust them not to say anything. My plan is to talk to her on phone as I don't see her in person so often now.
What do you think?
