I have just returned from the local shops. We have an independent pharmacy whose prices are competitive. I bought two toiletry items and paid cash. I then went into Tesco Express for food. At the self-checkout, along with my receipt came forward-dated money-off vouchers for those exact two toiletry products I had just bought for cash next door.
The store must now have me on CCTV looking around thinking What The … ?
If it was one product I might write it off as a timely coincidence knowing that, in the past, I have bought that product in Tesco. The other product (a special soap) I know I have never bought in their stores. I have only recently started to use it. My one and only previous purchase was in Boots Chemist.
How might this have happened?
I’m trying to be logical. If the product is being offered at a good price in the pharmacy then maybe it’s on special offer in other retailers so again it’s just a coincidence. I didn’t actually go check this second item on the Tesco Express shelves. Their toiletry range is very limited. It hadn’t occurred to me that they would even stock it and it may be something which is only available in their larger stores.
Weird, eh? Any ideas or theories? Or any other stories similar to this?
