I just cannot muster any energy at the moment-quite happy with my phone, iPad and the tv. I’m not unwell-I’ve had usual winter bugs but they’ve all passed-and recent scans/chest X-ray have been clear.
My energy levels are shocking though, I was looking online to book our holiday and just kept thinking about the sheer hassle factor of getting there. I didn’t book anything. I don’t feel depressed, perhaps slightly low mood after losing our friend to cancer earlier this year, but certainly nothing significant. I’m not anaemic either.

The only thing I can think of is an increase in my bp meds a month ago from 5mg to 7.5mg. Would this cause such a marked effect? It’s as if the top of my head is stuffed with cotton wool.

Hope it resolves soon, I’m becoming very fed up with it now.

Another one here in the mojo losing club.
Am hoping that good weather will bring it back, as it did briefly in the recent few days of warm weather we had.
Who want to walk in wind and rain?
I take vit D supplements, but feel a bit tired, low and generally out of sorts.

If it wasn't for a keen Labrador I could happily sit on my backside when not working but once I get out in the fields I'm always glad I did but a lot easier when weather nice

Well, I’m pleased to say I walked today - up a steep hill. Feel very proud of myself. I do think the abysmal grey weather, the cold, lack of sunshine and life pressures in general are usually the cause of lost mojo. If it doesn’t return after some self help then a visit to the GP is a good plan. Keep smiling everyone, that helps too.

I take Ginseng when I’m feeling limp. It seems to help. I don’t feel tremendously different but it gets me up and doing. It’s probably all in the mind, but I don’t care. It works.

Becalmed is a brilliant description.

When I have things in the diary I am happy and gladly keep busy but the rest of the time sees me wandering around aimlessly!

I've just bought a multivitamin for women over 70years old. They might be good it I remembered to take them regularly!

NanKate Mon 30-Apr-18 07:43:52

I’m up for being added to the list to please. I am prescribed Vit D as well as a raft of other meds which I hate taking and I have noticed no improvement in my energy levels sadly.

I do manage a 20 minute walk once or twice a day which definitely lifts my spirits.

I shouldn’t say it but it really helped Katek to see so many other GN members also needing a bit of a encouragement to get going.

Luckygirl Mon 30-Apr-18 09:18:47

Definitely becalmed this morning. Still in pjs and not even showered yet - but I will - and I will brag about it!

Howling wind and pouring rain here today and so cold that I've had to light the fire---May tomorrow! Don't feel like doing anything, but shall force myself to do some running on the spot (while holding onto the Aga towel rail for security).

Luckygirl Mon 30-Apr-18 10:47:41

Brag alert! - I am showered and dressed!

How are things today with you Katek?

kittylester Mon 30-Apr-18 10:49:41

I'm showered, dressed, breakfasted and on Gransnet! Not very dynamic, eh!

loopyloo Mon 30-Apr-18 11:18:03

Katek do you have a machine so you can take your own blood pressure? That might be a good idea, perhaps your bp is a bit too low at the moment. Also look in the paperwork that comes with the tablets to see what the side effects are.

Katek Mon 30-Apr-18 11:30:29

Up, showered and dressed!! Lovely day here so am aiming for short stroll /stagger before lunch.

Haven’t got a BP machine loopy and try not to read leaflets as I’ll scare myself! In this instance though I think I will go and read the leaflet.

Dusted and used hand hoover, plus cleaned bathroom and shower room in case they are used, before my WI pals arrive later today. I am totally knackered and need a nap before their arrival :-( But at least I have done something. Brag over.

kittylester Mon 30-Apr-18 12:12:37

I've made a carrot cake and sent a link to Rip Off Britian to an AS colleague. And, I've boosted DH's ego each time he has come in from the garden. Jiggered now!

mumofmadboys Mon 30-Apr-18 12:17:30

Please may I have a piece of ypur carrot cake. It is my favourite!

Luckygirl Mon 30-Apr-18 12:17:39

Planned bit of gardening is on hold as the wind is like a knife here.

kittylester Mon 30-Apr-18 12:25:27

Certainly. momb though it's looking a bit anaemic!

Jane10 Mon 30-Apr-18 13:05:08

Hour on the phone to energy company has drained any energy I might have had. However, lovely day here. Will have longish (for me) walk to U3A bridge group.
On another note Katek, I have a BP machine. I'd swear my BP shoots up just looking at it. Recent weeks recordings for GP looked awful to me but he said there was nothing to worry about. (Won't stop me though!)

Jane10 Mon 30-Apr-18 13:06:21

Also, becalmed is a lovely word but usually I feel more beached than becalmed!

kittylester Mon 30-Apr-18 13:58:17

My carrot cake is looking a little deflated too. I wouldn't bother momb.

Day6 Mon 30-Apr-18 14:33:22

Well, I am bragging about a busy morning - but most of my mornings aren't busy! Went out with daughter this morning. Had a coffee and mooch round the shops....so walked, if mooching around the shops counts!
Came home, put washing out on the line - rain is forecast for later, but right now it's a 'good drying day' as my Mum used to say. It's very blowy. While out in the garden I cut a few twiggy bits off shrubs and sought out weeds...have noticed neighbours couch grass is coming in under the fence.
I am sitting down at the PC now, obviously, with a nice cup of tea. brew So, a mini brag from me. I could have made my day a bit more high impact aerobically (ha ha!) but I have been more active this morning than I have for a while. Small steps.
Hope we can all get some fresh air today at least. smile

fourormore Tue 01-May-18 08:25:33

Think we could all brag a bit yesterday! We all seemed to make the effort to our limits which is all that matters! Marathons are not for me!
Didn't we do well! Keep it up!
Mondays are easy for me as I have a regular commitment that involves me walking about a mile each way but the rest of the week will need a kick (except Wed as I have joined a Keep Fit class and the same mile each way walk should be done!)
Keep it up everyone - imagine being ticked of the list haha!

kittylester Tue 01-May-18 09:22:40

This morning I am up and raring to go as I have a regular date with an Alzheimer's Course, pop into Sainsbury's on the way home and then a trip to the garden centre. Not loads of exercise but at least I'm not mouldering around trying to motivate myself.

Forget the carrot cake momb, it was raw in the middle - no wonder it deflated! blush

NB. That's helping on an Alzheimer's course - not learning how to have it!! grin

Katek Tue 01-May-18 10:46:38

I’m going for lunch with friends today.....does walking to and from car park count as exercise??

Bellasnana Tue 01-May-18 11:10:57

I love this thread! Day6 said exactly what I feel in her post yesterday. I’m glad it’s not just me.

Can’t really do much bragging, although I did take the dog for a walk yesterday. He’s got his training lesson this evening so that will be the sum total of exercise for us both, and it will be a huge effort to get him loaded into the car.

It’s a Public Holiday in Malta so it feels like a Sunday, not that it’s any excuse because every day is the sameblush
